Morrowind Mods Thread

Running off of Custom Firmware
Alright. So I've owned Morrowind and its 2 expansions since they've been available. Alas, until 7 days ago, I lacked the computer to properly run the game.

Now, I've installed the game, both expansions, and all of the official plug ins available from the official website.

I know that there are supposed to be oodles of really cool mods.

I'm not looking, necessarily, for new content (though I won't say no to new quests, locations, unique items, etc.) In particular, I'm looking for mods that improve the presentation. As I understand, some brave souls out there sought to (and succeeded in) bettering Bethsoft's face and character models. Can anyone hook me up to some cool shit to make this awesome game that much better?

I briefly checked out some of the links Bethsoft provides to unofficial Morrowind resource fan sites, but sifting through the thousands of mods there.

Meh, I'd rather play. That's why I'm asking those that play and love the game to hook me up with the names and descriptions of their favorite mods. Links are welcome too, of course. After all, I am one lazy bastard! :lol

After the new Oblivion thread I've been dying to get back into Morrowind-- I haven't touched it since I put a good hundred hours into the original Xbox version years ago. I stopped playing after I turned my thief into a vampire and died repeatedly trying to change him back.

Been awhile since I played Morrowind, so my memory is fuzzy on what mods are good. I checked my current MW installation, and here's a couple I recommend:

Beauty Pack - one stop shop for getting everyone's face and hair mods
Text Patch for MW - fixes a lot of little text errors
Real Signposts - makes the signposts easier to read without having to hover your cursor over them
Passive Healthy Wildlife - makes non-diseased wildlife only attack if you if you bother them
Windowlights - looks nice at night
Fashionable Merchants - merchants don't wear the armor you sell to them (so you can buy it back)
Better Bodies - nicer looking bodies
Silent Char Gen - avoids all the non-essential chit-chat and dialogs when you are creating a char, useful if you reroll a lot
MW Visual Pack or Visual Pack XT - high-res textures (install one or the other)

I have over 300 MW mods saved that I've tried at one time or another, but now I can't remember what is good or not. The above are what I can remember as being worthwhile. I'm stuck on slow-ass dialup for now, else I would try to go out and find you some links. There used to be a really good MW mod thread over at Gone Gold, but unfortunately that site is dead. Anyway, good luck with the mods, the base game is butt-ugly but with the right selection of mods the game is gorgeous.

Got that right!

^"Heads Pack"

This is the ultimate mod, but I doubt it'll ever be finished..

Better Bodies and I think the head replacer is Better Heads. Those are pretty much my favorite. Just search the Better Bodies' forums to find mods based on it.
Also, there is a mod called "Forrested Morrowind" that basically adds a TON of high poly trees to the game. I really liked that one but the problem is you need a REALLY good videocard to maintain a playable framerate. :lol

I have the ATI Radeon X850 something or another. Got it with my brand new comp. I should be able to run any of these mods, I guess.

Thank you all for the suggestions, especially you PC Gaijin. Much appreciated.

I always wished Bethsoft would release a mod/expansion (I'd even pay $30 for it) that recreated the Daggerfall game using the Morrowind engine.

The better bodies/heads mods are a MUST to make the game look better. :) I have another mod that makes the ground textures more detailed, too, but I forgot what it was called. I have to try that high res texture pack now, too. :D

Everything else I messed with never really was that big a deal, but I didn't try the mods that add new areas to the game, just ones for different clothing types and such. I never really played much of MW to be honest; I ended up having more fun playing the game "Matrix style" and using cheats to run super fast, jump so high you go into clouds, etc.
