It's also regularly 9 bucks or less. In fact the ultimate edition is on sale on Steam for 9 bucks right now. The pleb edition is 5. It keeps selling because they discount it so often.
I did pick up the full MK1 package not too long ago when it was on sale. It's an ok game.

It is a huge drop off and MK1 just does not offer thematic content or combat design on the production level of MK11. I know the whole beloved Mortal Kombat characters as assists for this basic bitch remix roster with random spandex tights DLC fighters soured me on the whole thing. Did not like the return of air combos either.

It was already heavily discounted by then. And MK1 isn't even two years old. It's not going to do 15 million in 3 years, but I'm guessing the current number is way more than some people expected.

I think they need to find a way to bring back a bit more of the MKX style of gameplay and get rid of any kind of gear system, just focus on creating totally new skins that don't have any impact on gameplay or what moves you can do. I would also like to see interactive stage weapons and hazards brought back as well as stage fatalities, get rid of the kameo thing and just add an optional tag mode as long as it doesn't take up too many resources. I do hope they keep up with animalities in the next game, they were pretty much all great in this one.

Shang Tsung was made gay without actually saying hes gay, every character showed the dev teams foot fetish, single player content was laughable, no stage fatalities, very little hidden content, gender bending longtime favorite characters, no extra games (like kombat chess, etc...), story was laugh out loud stupid....game was a huge miss. I still platinumed it despite all this but ill be skipping any new MKs if they go in this same stupid woke direction.
