and to think the usual refrain you hear about 3DO is "it sucks"...but now it has what I'd consider the best port of Mortal Kombat II out of any of the consoles that saw ports back in the day.

We're talking basically arcade perfect and who wouldn't want that! A little xmas 3DO fun and a brand new port

Also, it's not like emulating this game at 4k is making any difference... 2D assets don't get upscaled.

Use some decent CRT shaders and you should be set.

It's literally a port... The dev took the arcade original and ported it to the 3DO. That's what a port means.

the best version of MK2 imo is the earlier version where you can glitch out of a babality and crash the arcade machine

only viewed it quickly, but seems like waaaaaay more camera shake than arcade, and the way jump kicks land is different, background layers behave differently...

Interesting, could the 3DO handle a port of Killer Instinct? It should be capable of streaming the background assets off the CD-ROM, possibly at a lower resolution or colour depth.
