ashley graham is certainly up there. i suppose leon needed some pretext to shoot a bunch of zombies, but i wish it had been a magical artifact or a nuclear bomb instead of some fish-faced whining president's daughter. i've been stuck on the bit where you play as ashley for over a week now. i just can't bring myself to slog through it.

i turn it off in disgust every time i manage to throw a lantern at myself. it's reassuring to hear that it only lasts ten minutes, though. from the little teaser still, i thought it'd be a full-length chapter.
 
Good call. Symphonia's cast really did suck. The triple threat of Kratos, Lloyd, and Collette most particularly...ugh. Raine(?) wasn't too bad though.

I'll add Chaos from Xenosaga...oi what a joke he was.

drohne: Yea, it's a really short sequence. Just do it cause the Krauser fight is coming up later, and boy is it a total crowd pleaser.

Yeah, that Ashley part wasn't bad. I kinda enjoyed the brief change of pace.

Actually, I just loved throwing lanterns at monks...

And how the hell do you throw a lantern at yourself? I'll have to try that next time through.
 
Rose. Shes crazy. Raiden is trying to stop a world disater from happening and she would be calling him to say that she's lonely in bed and that she needs to be fucked, right now. I also hated Raiden, I wouldnt have been surprised if Rose was actually a lesbien with Raiden.

I think that they are two great characters. navi never made the game easier. Tingle was wiend, but I think he fits into the Zelda world perfectly.

The first thing that came to my mind when I read the thread title was Daxter, but now that I think about it he wasn't that annoying. He was just never funny, ever.
 
I'm not sure I'd say she was the _most_ annoying, but I have to bring up Inspector Carmelita Fox, specifically in Sly 2: Band of Thieves. I actually thought she was interesting in Sly 1, but in Sly 2 she got a completely different VA which totally dropped the original accent, and while I thought the Sly/Carmelita team-up bit in Sly 1 was cool, and given what happens to Carmelita and the fact she has AI to wander around the main hub of some levels and take down enemies,
it's disappointing that you only team up with her during that helicopter sequence, where she WON'T SHUT THE HELL UP. "YOU'RE DOING IT, COOPER!" "NICE SHOT, RINGTAIL!" Et cetera, et cetera. Constantly going on while you're trying to shoot the boss down in that terrible, annoying voice.

Note to Sucker Punch: When you cast and feature (in the Making Of video) a VA that DIES in a few minutes, yet have the same woman do voices for the two major females you see and hear throughout the ENTIRE GAME, you need to reprioritize.


And Omochao was annoying, but it was so much fun picking him up and chucking him around as a weapon. He'd even refuse to talk to you if you beat him up too much. At least they knew the little guy could get on your nerves.

I quite liked Ashley personally. But then i hardly ever lost her to anyone so didn't hear her yelling for me much. I agree with the guy who hates the merchant more.

As for that Ashley section, (aside from that puzzle) I really enjoyed it. Nice change of pace. I didn't even know you could pick up the lanterns. Don't bother doing that, just trap them! It's not hard, you can do it first time. There's a way to crawl from one room to the other without going through the arch or whatever it is btw.
 
Squall.

FF VIII was the only RPG I've ever been tempted to leave unfinished, and my loathing of Squall is entirely to blame. (I forced myself to finish out of principle then, something I probably wouldn't do nowadays. Though the moment the credits finished rolling, I literally shut off my Playstation, grabbed the game, and headed for EB, so determined was I not to have this game in my collection one second longer than necessary. It's something I laugh about in retrospect, but man, did I despise that sonofabitch.)
 
Squall, for god's shake

It's hard for me loosing my patience but I would have paid for an option to punch him in the face. There is a difference between an agnst young and a completely retard crybaby with social problems, he maked no sense and his attitude wasn't "I´m cool" like, let´s say Dante, that is something you can like or not but at least it´s not annoying. Squall looked like he was going to pass of your pad commands in any moment and leave the game without saying a word.

In fact, FF VIII had a good collection of completely stupid characters IMO

Sure, he wasn't as annoying to the player as most shrill characters mentioned already, but he was great in that as a main character he had the worst attitude in gaming history. Not only does he treat everyone like shit but it's funny to hear how all the other characters don't seem to mind or even notice most of the time.

He's such a cliched "attitude" character that I just can't stand him. One of several reasons I hate that series.

Bobbito Sanchez AKA the DJ from NBA Street Vol. 2 and 3. Street Vol. 3 is one of the few games I can remember scoring so high, but so low for audio. This guy is the most annoying MF'er EVAR!!! He says the stupidest shit throughout the game and to top it off his tone of voice is like nails on a chalboard, oh and he's ugly as hell to boot. "THE J-U-ICE!!!"
