I looked at them earlier on IGN, so they're showing up for me.

The game looks fantastic. And real time, from the screens.

I dont know, looking at some GT4 stuff on PS2 I'm wondering if this really is real-time.

Check out the particle effects in the first shot.

again, Sony with the "realtime demo". nothing in game mind. it reminds me of the GCN "realtime demo's" back in the day.

it won't look like this when you play it folks

look at the motion blur, no way this is real time. looks very nice anyway..

It was the motion blur(not up to rendered quality) and aliasing that tipped me off to the real time elements. What the hell screenshots are you looking at?

You can't say that for sure. PS2 games surpassed the original demo renders Sony put out for the console. IF anything PS3 games *will* look like this.

Man, the crappy Gamespot streaming video looked awesome, but this is just incredible. I'm a bit skeptical about it being real time, but then you look at other aspects of it and it's apparent that they could have made it a bit more polished if it was pre-rendered. Weird. Amazing, nonetheless.

If it IS real time, then that's more than a quantum leap over the current gen.

Actually looking at the textures and the models I am now rather certain it is realtime. I mean, it's just not half as impressive in stills as in motion.

i'm not expert in this but maybe someone who knows better can confirm/deny.
it has full scene motion blur, which is just not feasible when running it in real time for games as far as I know. Motion blurring is very expensive since you need to blend from one frame into the other.

When I watched the vid for this, I was was convinced that this was pre-rendered. But holy shit, those shots scream real-time. That Kill Day video looked real time too (unbelieveable graphics). I'm starting to think that K2 is real time as well, if the above shots are.

I was trying to keep my enthusiasm in check, since I wasn't sure about some of the footage. But I'm starting to convince myself of the real-time-ness of almost all the stuff.

Alls, I can say to that is WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Next-Gen is REALLY here bitches, sorry Xbox 1.5.

Several PS2 games do motion blur realtime fuck even PSX did motion blur.
not in the way it is done in these screens. anyway i'll go quiet until someone with more experience in 3d rendering corrects me :)

What? Sony has clearly trumped Microsoft so far, but these particular screens do not look much better, if at all, than many of the 360 screenshots we've seen.

It's so difficult to tell. The motion blur looks too good to be true. I'm still amazed they were able to put together such an impressive demo realtime or not.

I cannot wait to see what Rainbow Studios can do with this type of tech. If Rev has gyros then they need something like Motocross madness on the system and fast. :) :)

Yes but if you ask me the motion blurr in these images are not up to the quality we usually see in prerendered stuff.. But I dunno, time will tell. :)

The video of this is amazing. As I was watching it I was questioning whether it was actually real time or not it was just too good. This is true nextgen.

So which is it guys, is this what the actual gameplay graphics will look like (of course from the normal driving angle) with all the effects and motion blur and stuff to create the closest game i have ever seen in my life to photo realism or will this just end up being another opening cinema for a game which will have toned down graphics for the actual gameplay?

Well?

This exeeds anything I've seen. Just look at the ground particle effects and the advanced motion blur.

But look at the jaggies. Seriously this is definately realtime, or crappy CG. I'm inclined to believe realtime.

If that's realtime then tell your favorite X360 developers to sell their devkits and convert, its all over....

That appears to be real-time to me and it looks REALLY hot. Man, I don't really care for Sony due to their faulty hardware problems, but I'm starting to get excited about owning a PS3 next year.

This shot leads me to believe it was real time. If you look at the light on the yellow vehicle, you'll see that it's not perfectly round. It has several edges. I don't think that would exist in prerenders.

It sucks that search isn't working. I remember when that PGR3 picture was shown with the car all blurry some guy wrote a great post on how because of the motion blur there's no way it could've been realtime, since it would've required the frame to be rendered 32-64 times. I'm thinking that a similar argument can be made for these pictures here.

The assets themselves are probably in-game assets as they're really not that detailed or complicated. But the rendering effects aren't realtime (again, going by the logic of that poster I mentioned)

In the video of that game there was even a scene where the camara was following the car from behind (Looked very much like an in game GAMEPLAY shot).

Color me excited. Where is Burnout 5 for PS3!!!!!!!
