Digital Foundry has played the first PS3 emulated game for PS5

I'm fine with these button mappings. They're clearly following the precedent set by Implicit Conversions with their PS1/PS2 games on PS4/PS5. This is good for consistency.
Implicit Conversions deserves a prison sentence for setting the stupid precedent in the first place.

That's a tall order at the moment. Meanwhile, it's good to see the effort being applied to smaller games for now. Developers will gradually improve their techniques, which will enable them to eventually tackle the larger and more technically demanding games.
PS5 or even Ps6 needs to emulate games from Ps3 because that ps3 era is very underrated. It also has allot of fantastic games in that era too.

Well that's good to hear, and hopefully the emulation can scale in performance/visuals with the PS5 Pro hardware.

PS2 emulation has been kinda lackluster, but if Sony can work out how to get good performance and proper visuals on their first-party games that'd be great. RPCS3 is solid for most stuff, but some first-party games, especially later ones that do graphic tasks on the Cell SPUs, still don't run amazing or have graphical issues (Ex: Infamous 1-2). I think especially if they can make this work on their next handheld, that will be some great added value for that device.

one of the worst first party controllers of the last 30 years. patching games is a nightmare. load times are slow.
True and real. My least favorite controller they ever made, just for the sloped down triggers your hands slip off, the lack of rumble, and useless features like the six-axis.

We shouldnt have to.

When someone wants to play a SNES, Gamecube, NES, Genesis, Dreamcast, PS1 game... you don't tell them to get the consoles do you? you just link them an emulator. PS3 should be the same
