That movie failed just in every way possible.

Yeah, let's go see 300, a stupid movie about burly men screaming and killing stuff!

Oh, or we could keep cutting back to an awful flow-disrupting political subplot that literally could have been cut completely and not affected the rest of the movie. Yeah, let's spend half the movie on that.

I repeat my Transformers argument: It should've been a movie about burly men killing stuff. How do you fuck that up?

Nothing much, everything I highly anticipate watching I tend to end up loving.
I wasn't 'hyped' about Avatar, but decided to watch the iMax 3D (think it was iMax) later in its run just to see what the fuss was about... yeah, it was okay only, so I guess that counts. I wasn't disappointed or anything since I was never that hyped for it, but neither the visuals nor the story blew me away (felt like an average movie with super high production values).

Warren Beatty's Dick Tracy. Boring, and Tracy had all the charisma of a plank of wood. Expected great things, went home disappointed.

Hey, at least the t-shirt ticket was cool. I wish I still had mine.

There was talk of a recut at some point, but who knows what happened to that.

Super 8. I only saw it because I had a few hours to kill and it was starting soon so I had no expectations really. However, the first half of the movie really drew me in. It was so well crafted and really got my hopes up, then the second half happened and I realized it was just another goofball monster movie.

Devolves into total wankery after a promising start. Title is ridiculously pretentious, too.

Loads, but Mission Impossible 2 stands out. I was a kid and I loved 1. Watched it like crazy. It's one of the first movies I remember being dissapointed by. And the N64 game for 1 sucked.

It only sucked because of the technical limitations at the time but it had some good ideas. It's a shame nobody wants to make a decent spy game nowadays.

I agree that it was disruptive but half the movie? It was more like 10 min total.

Iron-Man 2 was really disappointing, but Spider-Man 3 was just a straight kick to the balls. So for that alone I have to give Iron-Man 2 some credit, as it could have been much worse.

The Matrix 2 is one of the most disappointing to me. Matrix 3 is even worse, but I was expecting it at that point.

Stuff like X-Men 3 and Terminator 4 were turds, but you could totally see those coming.

This is the post that I would've written.

#1 in my book of disappointment is the Matrix sequels. Easily. Even the animated clips before Reloaded came out somehow captured the magic of the first film more than sequels, which makes the sequels just weird as hell. It's like they weren't even written by the same people.

Just slightly after that is Spider-Man 3. 1 and 2 were great. 3 promised VENOM, Spider-Man's dark mirror image. Instead, we got a bloated film with utterly embarrassing parts and weak villains.

The part of Clockwork you mentioned is the slowest, most boring part of the film just due to the lack of action and the background violin music. Reading the book beforehand helps a lot.

Well heres the thing, I have of course since seen the film in its entirety since that day, but I feel like that initial viewing has soiled my opinion on the film. I just don't think its that great of a film.

Oh Spiderman 3 was definitely another one! I can't believe i went to the midnight showing for that and sacrificed my sleep (i had to be up for work 3 hours after the film ended :/)
