Mr. Robot final season set for October 6th

I don't really have a problem with how they ended it but it did feel a bit stretched with those last 3 episodes. They just wanted to make a more poignant conclusion to Elliott's story.

Such a unique show. Interested to see what the creator does next.

I thought the ending was pretty sweet. They didn't go full "it was all a dream!" on us, which was nice. When they cut to Tyrell throwing his body into the grave, I was like oh come the fuck on why is everything a dream after the gunshot? Luckily it wasn't that dumb.

I kinda like the idea that the only thing we've ever seen is "The Mastermind." Maybe it's even that sometimes when he thought he was losing blocks of time to Mr. Robot taking over, some of that time could have just been the real Elliot going grocery shopping or some shit lol

I was a bit unsure about the entire dream/in his head part but it did pay off. Honestly they could have ended the show a few eps back when White Rose was being raided at the end and I would have been happy too.

Do you think that when we thought Elliott was talking to us that maybe he was talking to the real Elliott and providing him with updates. Need to go back again and see what their big fight was about when he stopped talking to him/us.

I'm still left with questions though.

1. Who's running ECorp, does it still exist or did it fold due to everything going on?
2. What happened to Dom? I was expecting her plane to go down given members of the black army were at the airport.
3. What actually was the machine that White Rose was building. (I guess this was supposed to be ambiguous)

It's the little shit that will make this show a great rewatch. Cant wait to buy the boxset

I thouth it was a great and emotional ending to the show. So nice seeing a good ending to things. Will definitely rewatch the series soon to catch all the little things.

Overall I liked that idea, but the fact that were given that as the big reveal at the end (especially after an extended dream sequence) had me pretty disappointed. I think the whole MM reveal could've been done last season and Esmail could've used that as a new element for story telling.

Overall, I felt like a majority of the final season was spent on shit that didn't matter. The whole Dom/Diane conclusion was one of the most eye rollingly terrible things I've ever seen in a good show (also that had zero payoff in the end). Tyrell's character was done a bit dirty as well, but perhaps worst of all, the white rose story/white roses machine felt like a total waste of time without payoff.

The sad thing to me is that this is one of the best acted shows I've ever seen and it was wasted on a clusterfuck final season.

I definitely have had my issues with the show. I almost stopped watching after season 2. The "Is the key in the room" scene with Angela and Whiterose just about made me write off Sam E-mails forever. And the fact that every fucking scene is set up so that one character's face is zoomed in on the left side of the screen and then it cuts to the other character's zoomed in face on the right side of the screen over and over and over...it was annoying the shit out of me.

I can't disagree that time was wasted in various episodes. I didn't need the really dragged out dream sequence of Dom inviting over the IRC person only to be revealed to be a Dark Army assassin, only to be revealed as a dream....all just so I can see that she feels trapped by the dark army? Like, no shit. We got it already. That was such a waste of my time. And the Tyrell thing is now completely nonsensical. And Whiterose was so sure Elliot would make the "right choice" in the bunker that it was time to blow your own head off? It's hard to understand the plan based on the ending we got.

And yeah, the fact that the dark army just overnight doesn't care about Darlene or Dom anymore is odd. For a group so heavily connected to Whiterose's interests the whole time, you'd think that grudge would last longer than overnight.

I think I just loved the meta stuff in this season. For whatever reason, it was working for me. All of the dissociated personalities providing different functions for Elliot while he was kept away by the greedy mastermind was really interesting.

Yeah, Tyrell was one of my favorite characters and he almost ended up being a completely moot factor by the end of things.

Ya dude I went on about a 15 minute rant to my girlfriend at the end of that episode. God bless her for listening to me. Irv shows up out of nowhere before you're about to get on a plane....I would've John McClain'd my ass out of there through the air vents at that point.

Another one of the big issues I had with the last couple seasons (especially the last one) is I don't think they went into the repercussions of the big hacks enough - they were just relegated to a couple scenes here and there along with a few lines of dialogue. Some of the best stuff in the series was always the moral ambiguity and the concept of the greater good/ends justify the means on both sides of the conflict. With the hacks in season 3-4, it didn't come off as much more than a device to awkwardly move the plot along.

I guess what it comes down to for me is that the character development stayed at a high level while the story developments became underwhelming, stretched out and somewhat inconsequential

I enjoyed it. I thought it was touching, interesting, and was satisfying. I have to admit though, the more I stewed on it since, the more I wish they didn't dedicate the entire finale to just Elliot and his mind and wrapped up more of some of the other plot points.

I'm still left with questions though.

1. They never said. It's kind of a rudderless ship now and is probably in major turmoil.

2. Left it ambiguous. Either she got away and live happily ever after in Europe or the plane crashed.

3. They never got into that and they should have. It was important and it would have given better context of White Rose's motivations and if this was indeed something truly revolutionary.

Why did Tyrell wander into the woods and find a bright blue light emitting some kind of strange animalistic scream before dying? What in the ever-loving fuck was the point of showing us that?

Oh, and why are some Dark Army agents just allowed to just decide that they are freelancers like Elliot's jail "friend?" We've seen how ruthless they are and how anyone who tries to leave just has their family threatened. But, for some reason, Joey Badass can just come and go as he pleases?

When they spent pretty much an entire episode earlier in the season on White Rose's past, it had me thinking that her machine was going to even more important that previous thought - instead, imo, we got completely blue ball'd by her entire character arc. If white rose was completely removed and her character was consolidated with someone else from the series, not that much would change at all.

The episode with tyrell and the blue light, I believe everything that happened after the gas station was in elliots head. Or in some way out of order.

At 11:58 elliot sends darlene a message with coordinates to the gas station. The clock on the payment terminal says what looks like 12:22am. So did something happen in those 24 minutes or is it just a continuity error? He puts so much focus on time I cant see it being an error.

When they notice the van is missing the gas nozzle is on the ground. How did it get there? Was there a struggle?. Also the weird noise that keeps playing is also in the final episode when elliot gets dragged into the ditch in his mind.

The biggest thing that bugs me is how tyrell spoke to mr robot. Elliot keeps talking about hes tired of tyrell and will leave him behind while mr robot trys to talk him into coming with then elliot says he will leave again. The conversation doesnt make sense if it came from a single person.

I still don't like that they killed off Angela, she was the heart of the show. Phillip would have still been driven by her to bring down White Rose and Elliott could have relied more on her instead of Darlene who was a bit of a 2-dimensional boring character.
