duckroll said:I meant comparing Dennis Dyack with Hideo Kojima. In fact, the way each handled PR is the perfect example of the difference. Kojima doesn't offend people and promise things way beyond what he delivers. All Dyack does is overtalk his games, every single one of them. They never deliver on the scale he talks about and their trailers and screens are always weak. He handles criticism like a baby too, always whining about it and claiming that everyone will be "proven wrong". No one is ever proven wrong.

Rocksteady33 said:Do you really think that after Microsoft gave Rare the ability to create Viva Pinata, and then watched it flop (and I don't need to hear "BU-BU-BUT IT SOLD 1 MILLION" that was after multiple, multiple price drops) they'd let them do it all over again? I mean sure the Viva Pinata brand is still kicking, which is nice, but let us not forget Microsoft did invest a shit ton into it and would be a waste to just give up now. Even Rare says they've made the sequel more easily accessible in hopes to bring more people in.
What I'm really trying to get at is I'm sure they did want to reinvent the game, but not in such a drastic way as this. Look at games like Mario Galaxy, it's completely new and changed the formula from its predecessors but there is absolutely no denying it sticks to the core roots of its previous 3D games. If I couldn't see the actual characters of Banjo-Kazooie within these screens/video I wouldn't guess that it would even be from the same franchise.
Had Rare stuck with its cute and cheeky self like it was on the N64 do you really think a good amount of people on the Xbox 360 userbase would even consider buying it? Fuck no. It had to have a facelift, it had to have a change in gameplay style (with a focus on action) in order for anyone to look at it.

duckroll said:Yes it is. Have you played it? There's lots of jumping, and platforming (where you navigate platforms) and so on. Zelda is not a platformer, it is an adventure game. I believe Banjo 3 would fit well in the adventure genre.
Firewire said:And I thought maybe it was a nice tribute to Mario or something! :lol
BenjaminBirdie said:How is this NOT a platformer?
A platformer isn't jumping, it's problem solving.

Dear Amazon.co.uk Customer,
Ninja Gaiden 2 releases Friday, May 16th, 2008, at Amazon.co.uk. You've looked at it or bought other similar games for Xbox 360 in the past.
ninja gaiden 2 this friday ??

When asked about the amount of cutscenes in the game (in which he answered "more than a motion picture"), he then dropped this one; "Too Human has more content that any other video game released in recent history."
wait...what?batbeg said:I can't even imagine why you would say this when there's threads about two new Viva Pinata games on the front page.

Nope.duckroll said:Huh? So because I bought 3 games they made I swear by them? Did you miss the threads where I created just to discuss why they're such fuckups? Did you ever see me going "HEY GUYS LET'S BE FAIR AND BALANCED AND WAIT FOR THE FINAL GAME"? Fuck no.

NeXuSDK said:That certainly is wrong. Ask everyone who has actually played it!
It has some of the traditional platforming elements still, but what makes it reinvent the genre is that instead of Banjo and Kazooie having and gaining abilities to complete tasks and collect stuff, you use vehicles instead. You use vehicles like you use moves, power-ups or whatever usually, but the big twist here is that you can actually create these vehicles yourself! It's like Mario with the ability to create your own suits and power-ups...
And that is how you innovative a genre, plain and simple...

Banjo will be the hotness. Haters will be eating their words when we learn more about the game or I dont know, they actually play it.
Is there a chance of anything else being announced? Besides Ninja Blade and LIPS...like a few suprises or anything?

Your style seems to always be trolling the absolute living shit out of a game during it's development process, then throwing your hands up at release and admitting that it's pretty good.
So I suppose what people are suggesting is that maybe if you turned back the vitriol on the early stages, you wouldn't really lose anything beyond avoiding the reputation of being sensationalist and negative.
Almost every reply I ever see from you is trying to prove why someone else is wrong, mocking them, or talking about how shitty this developer/game/etc is. It gets tiring.
I don't think Too Human looks very good either, but some other people do. Good for them. Why do you feel the constant need to piss on peoples' parades? I just don't understand that type of mentality. You don't like it, you've made that clear. They do, they've made that clear. Move on.
I mean, the fact that you actually think it supports your cause to say "I NEVER am fair and balanced" says it all. To me, at least, those don't seem like the type of qualities one would seek to actively avoid.....
I don't really have any grudge with you, I certainly don't want to get involved in an argument about it...but I do think it would be a good idea to chill out a bit.
Just my two cents.
