MS screws over Opera users with Hotmail

Hotmail has been redesigned slightly, now having confirmation popup boxes when deleting mail. Funnily enough these don't work with Opera. Whoops. Nice move, M$. You only got me more convinced to keep my serious mail on Yahoo. If only I didn't have a bunch of stuff connected to my Hotmail...

If that's true, then quite frankly that sounds more like a problem with Opera than with Microsoft. Firefox allows you to specify sites to allow popus, I don't see why you couldn't do that in Opera.

Yahoo has confirmation popups also, and I don't have any problems with it. I just checked hotmail, and I'm not having any problems either. Maybe you need to change Opera's settings to only 'block unwanted pop-ups'.

Opera is fine with popups. You can set it to open upon request. So if you click on the webpage you are on and it specifically points to a pop up it will show the pop up.

I cant get into hotmail anyway since Opera seems to block the cookies. I cant be bothered to give Hotmail extra special permission. :lol Hotmail sucks however. Get gmail or something else. Hotmail isnt even up half the time and stupid stuff happens nearly all the time. I use many email addresses and Hotmail is not one of them except for using messenger.

IE has the same problem if you have the built-in popup blocker set to "High" instead of "Medium" (which is the default).

If you try to empty the junk mail folder (for example), Hotmail pops up a window asking "Are you sure? YES NO". This prompt is blocked if your have your popup blocker set to "High" in IE.

You need to either add hotmail.com to your exceptions list, or hold down the Ctrl key when you click the "Empty Folder" button.

Solution: LEARN HOW TO USE OPERA

if MS wanted to stop you using hotmail with opera they could do so very easily.

No, that's not the problem. The popup windows opens fine. However, whether or not I click the Report all Selected Messages as as Junk E-mail button, the OK button doesn't work in Opera. I run Opera 7.23... maybe there's a later version?

Why are people even using it still?

Because I changed to firefox a week ago due to the incompatibility issues Opera has with some sites I'm using; I needed at least 15 extensions to start comparing it with Opera and I'm still thinking of switching back. Every worthy extension firefox has, was badly stolen from Opera.

Yeah. Although adding stuff to firefox is ussualy easier. Opera is better however.

Opera is great. Mozilla will be good, eventually, but Opera seems perfect right away... and it seems much more easily customizable. I like having all my browsers windows inside the main Opera program, with little "tabs" on the bottom so that I can switch between them... I seem to recall that it took a LOT of time to get Mozilla to do that. It did, eventually, but I had to add plugins and fool with lots of settings.
