I've been reading this forum pretty much for most of this year. I'm a diehard video game addict and this is the most productive forum I have seen. But every time I tried to sign up for a forum account it said "Your email address has been banned by the admins". After sending bunches of emails to the admins, it seems this site is best described as abandoned (except for all you people in the forum). But yes finally I have gotten a forum name to work and I may all join you.

I'm not a fanboy by any means. I believe a good game is a good game no matter what console it is on. My favorites are Halo, Soul Calibur, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy 6-7, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, and Ninja Gaiden are just the basics. My game list extents into the 8-bit and 16-bit more, but I'll keep it brief for now. Latley been playing Halo 2 multiplayer and the greatness that is MGS3 after the garbage that was MGS2.

One thing I noticed here was alot of flaming, while at times I will to some extent I really dont like the idea of it. Unless a game is flawed enough or just utter crap I usually will find somthing good to say about any game. But anyway enough, look foreward to joining your posts finally!

Kurosawa fan? I like you... Although, your request was probably not approved because you were using a free email account instead of your ISP email account. GAF requires you to use an ISP email account for some obscure reason (less chances to create double accounts, I don't think it can stop anyone)...

This guy has impeccable taste in games and his success story of finally getting a login name is heartwarming. Welcome him aboard I say!!!

Well the gameplay was fine no problems there. The story (which was the best thing about MGS and better than pretty much any other game in its genre) just became a joke. Also not one boss in the game was really cool at all. Vamp? Girl with no Powers really, but she tries hard and all of a sudden has some? Solidus "I will keep dashing as you kill me" Snake. Olga I had no problems with..but she had nothing to build on before or after.

MGS had some of the coolest bosses that I will never forget. Ocelot, Sniper Wolf, Liquid Snake, Physco Mantis! In MGS3 I don't like the bosses as much as the original still, "The End" is probably the coolest boss fight I have seen in a game. I really also connected with Ocelot again and Vulgin and the Boss, where as in MGS2 I felt nothing.

Ahh...Fatman on Rollerskates almost forgot about him too. He was the worst. Like I said Fortune had no powers, but she tries really hard and obtains them all of a sudden? Vamp I didnt like either, but he was voiced by Phil Lamarr so I cut him the most slack. Like I said before Olga was the only one I didnt hate, but she still had no development really before or after.
 
You say Metal Gear Solid 2 is garbage, yet you enjoy Metal Gear Solid 3. Hmm, I don't know how to feel about you. I'm so conflicted.

The Fury didn't really had powers, althought he will explode when you kill him.
Fatman was my favorite! “Laugh and grow fat” with his glass of Sangria... You can't called MGS2:SOL garbage, although you are allowed to your opinion...

I'm a HUGE MGS fan. I've played the series since the NES days. Metal Gear Solid is def. in my top 5 games ever. Just I didnt connect with the story or any of the characters and I wasn't intrested in anything but the gameplay in MGS2. In MGS3 I love the boss fights and the characters like Boss, Ocelot, Vulgin, and Eva are all devloping very well and very intresting.

Nono. Fortune only had powers because of the machine they put on her, so when the machine was destroyed she had nothing. But then she tried really hard and used that power after?? Thats like when everyone tried to use the force after seeing Star Wars, and we tried so hard it worked.

Negative. I could view and login with my unactivated account for sometime, just couldnt post.

Fatman didn't had powers. Vamp had powers. Fortune turned out having some powers... It's all good... Psycho Mantis had powers, Sniper Wolf didn't had powers, Liquid didn't had powers (although he was very hard to kill)... It's all good...
 
You're a good guy, i think. So for your own good you should stop talking about MGS2 in this thread and let it die ASAP!
 
Again I'm saying its not all about the powers. To me none of the characters were anywhere near as intresting as MGS or MGS3. No development, nothing intresting to say really, nothing. Maybe all the extra hype factored into that, but playing through the game twice and hating it more the 2nd time didn't help its cause. MGS I loved it the more I played it. I beat that game 7 times not including the Twin Snakes.

In my case, it's not a question of hype: I played the game 1 year after it's release...

Mmm, I couldn't in the old forums, until it was finally activated (which took months but went through, and given the status of the site at that time I was grateful).
