It's a samsung LTM 1755 17" LCD HDTV. When I turn it on it takes like 5 minutes to turn on, and when I change the channel it takes about 5 minutes to change. Also the sound does not work, I checked the power plug and all external factors, and I'm convinced it's an internal problem. Anyone know what the problem might be? And if you can give me an estimate on how much it will cost to repair, I would would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Edit: It just happened, the previous time I used the TV it worked fine.

Is it still under warranty? If so then take it back to your retailer. If not then contact Samsung directly

you're using the tv as a cable decoder? I'd recommend trying a VCR or digital cable box or something, so you can leave the actual TV on channel 3 or 4 and flip around with the cable box remote. And probably call samsung.

My TV (LCD also) takes about 30-40 seconds to power up but i have no problems changing channels. It could be a voltage problem, do you have it plugged into a surge protector? Is the outlet outputting enough power? Maybe the screen itself is not getting juice...it could be a loose connection, something that needs to be re-soldered who knows...but it's something to worry about...then again it could just be on it's death bed...and you just need a new one :(
