My prediction: Perfect Dark Zero = GOTY

The graphics may have failed to impress, but the overall polish of the game seems insane with:

levels that automatically grow or shrink based on how many users
armor and damage system
bots can disappear when more users join
tons of weapons all with secondary uses
vehicles
ability to jump and dodge roll
crazy amount of online options

and so many more...

I expect it to beat out Zelda and Spore in a close vote. That and it'll get some sympathy votes for how bad it got trashed at E3.
 
after reading about it in EGM ill have to agree... the game sounds flat out amazing.

and the dev said those arent even the finished graphics

I thought Spore was only a tech demo at GDC? Is it really coming out this year?
 
now some people are backtracking on their PD0 bashfest. Damn, it was one of the biggest bashfests known to man. I'm not saying Sonycowboy is one of those people, but I think PD0 will definitely get some consideration for GOTY and all those haterz will be eating crow just like the early Halo haters were.
 
I have high hopes for PDZ :D

Whether it'll be a GOTY contender or not is a bit too early to call IMO

I have no idea. I just know people are hyped about it.

Zelda will be great, no doubt, but I just have confidence in PDZ

Not really, the bashing was deserved. Those screenshots at 1up were and are horrible.

i was one of those people. :O and now i hope i get owned... it sounds awesome.
 
After reading overwhelmingly positive impressions from almost every reliable source, id say you're right.

Both Kameo and PDZero will impress, and cement Rare's bitchslap to every hater. What a catch for MS
 
If MS markets it as the title to have at launch and its good as people have said then there is no reason it won't be a GOTY candidate. I think Zeruda has built up enough hype though to survive all darkhorse newcomers for GOTY title.

My prediction: Battlefield2, FEAR, Q4/Wars are going to beat the stuffing out of it.

But PD0 will sell shitloads more regardless.
 
I think the funniest thing out of all of this is the fact that we saw PD0 in action...... from there....



Gaming-World: "WTF!??! What the hell have they done!?"
Rare: "It's still in development"
GW: "d00d fix it or j00 suX!!!"
Rare: "We'll try harder next time"
MS's Peter Moore: 'A great company such as Rare has quality titles coming out such as Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo.....' ''que Kameo video completely bypassing PD0''
Rare: "Did we do something wrong?"
MS: "Fix it or Peter Moore will make you his bitch!"
Rare: "We understand and will comply"

Later that week....

*CNN Money reports that Rare is still hard at work on the newest offering 'Perfect Dark Zero', with large support from Microsoft and the gaming world... this will be one of the best games for the Xbox 360!*

Meanwhile @ GaF......

*PD0 = GOTY!*

I predict the game won't even come close to GOTY.

"Too good to show at E3." Please, this is Microsoft. They showed off Halo 2 in early stages, didn't they?
 
The game has always sounded extremely good on the gameplay side,GAF only likes to focus on certain things though when trolling ;)

No single player was demo'd, only multiplayer

They did show a SP demo in 2003, but it was (notoriously) cut/modified beyond recongnition.

What I gathered was that the graphics engine for SP Halo 2 wasn't final until shortly before release, and so the game looked like crap; thus (and to protect the story), they never showed it until shortly before launch. Even the EGM/XBN exclusives caveated that the framerates sucked then. But that game turned around nicely (visuals wise), despite some techinichal issues.

PD0 will look amazing - of that I'm confident.
 
PD0 content is done. It's all about ironing out the bugs and getting everything up to spec before launch.

I don't know if it'll be GoTY but it'll be in the top 5.

If PD0 becomes a huge hit MS has some major leverage next gen (PD0, Gears of War, Halo 3).

I'll be really surprised if they manage to ship a polished up game this year.
 
Of course, and I'll buy it. My point is, not only was the content in Conker essentially done, it had SHIPPED PRIOR. Rare seems to take way too much time to iron out kinks and polish things up.

In a year with Resident Evil 4, God of War, Forza (and/or Gran Turismo 4) and Zelda?

Perfect Dark Zero might actually have to LITERALLY perform fellatio on me for that to work.

I don't think I could put PDZ over some of the games that have already been released this year. Whether it's great or not will be seen, but I can't see it beating Twilight Princess.
