Resubscribe for this and watch it if you want Season 12. It's less than 10 bucks.Interesting notes on this Netflix stuff. I backed the tier that includes downloadable episodes and canceled Netflix a couple months ago.

Really bummed it won't be on Netflix in my area. It's not super well-known here (Netherlands), but I'm pretty sure it aired here in the late 90s/early 2000s. I've definitely seen multiple episodes of this, years before it was easy to share full shows online like that.
I'm guessing part of the reason is that they'd have to secure the international rights not just for Mystery Science Theater but also all the movies they're using within it? That stuff can get messy fast.
Still, I hope it's successful enough to make the jump to other areas at some point. Do me a solid Gaf, watch every episode 7 times.
I'm not sure if this is allowed, but I'd be willing to gift you my downloads. I won't need them.
I can check.
That would be great, but don't feel pressured or anything. Only if you're super sure you don't want them and if it's fine with however the kickstarter was set up.
Thanks for even offering it of course. Love this goofy stuff.
Has Netflix ever removed an original program? If not, I should be good.
I think things are a compromise to Netflix as-is. Backers put up so much more money than Joel said was necessary to produce the entire season that they made the season longer. And still, we only get it a few days before this later-attached distributor who wouldn't fund the season on their own.I think if it is truly a big enough deal to potentially not get more seasons, and that's just not a tactic to discourage pirating, it would be better to find a compromise, delay the backer access to the day of or a few hours before the Netflix premiere.
It's the old adage that people who pirate it weren't going to be lured into a Netflix sub anyways. The same trackers that may have the show uploaded now (or sometime this week) would have it on Friday anyways after it drops on Netflix.
This show has a pretty tight knit fanbase and the backers have been made aware more than once that they should watch it on Netflix if they'd like to see the show continue. I think Joel went into the project with enough money that this season was a pretty low risk proposition for Netflix, I could definitely see them gambling on another season or two even if the Kickstarter situation might lead to a little more piracy a few days earlier than usual.
Info was on total lockdown after the live premier. I have faith in MSTies.
I haven't seen it anywhere, but apparently the riffs were kind of rapid fire according to Joel, was that it would increase rewatchability?
They needed to slow down a bit at times in the first episode, but it wasn't crazy. There were plenty of moments where they let it breathe.

Speaking of breathing, I nearly asphyxiated during 1105 due to excessive, uncontrollable laughter.
I just finished 1102. I feel like Bart.
Over the two episodes I've seen I've found two BLANKy McBLANKerface entries thus far, and there may be more. I bet they all thought they were original!
(Also, I found someone listed twice, I'm curious if that's an error, someone who backed twice somehow, or a coincidence with two people with identical names)
VHX stream quality just take a big dive for anyone else watching?
I'm gonna be skipping to 1106 forbut I'll go back and watch the others on Netflix.Hasslehoff
So apparently the joke pacing is intentional and for a really strange reason (point 5) but honestly it's a pretty minor gripe for as much as I'm enjoying this season. Definitely meeting and exceeding expectations though I'm only 2 episodes deep.
Definitely ignore Felicia Day's recommendation to watch episodes out of order. Yeah, even before the Kickstarter backers there's a ton of people. Very different than like 15 people listed 1-3 times each.Strangest thing about the new show: How many names are in the credits now. It's like a real show, with a real crew now.
I saw that too. It was something like "Brian Smith" that seemed composed of common enough parts to be a coincidence. But those Brians need to learn about middle initials.mclem said:(Also, I found someone listed twice, I'm curious if that's an error, someone who backed twice somehow, or a coincidence with two people with identical names)
Agreed. It's quite strange.Strangest thing about the new show: How many names are in the credits now. It's like a real show, with a real crew now.
Take out that spoiler, post haste!Four episodes in, I still think it's just about perfect. Very funny, cast is great, quips are great, great choice in movies, and even the sketches hit the tone I was hoping for. Best kickstarter result while also best return of a beloved series. Funniest joke for me so far was actually a visual gag in... you'll know when it happens. o_o o_oAvalanche

Also, watching the first episode now! I'm really digging it so far, but I hope they elaborate on why Crow and Servo are up there with him.
Reading Joel's Twitter I wouldn't expect much. Don't know why a throwaway line about spare parts or something isn't possible.
