The awesome thing about this giveaway is being able to soft reset much easier than getting them in game if you want to use them competitively.
It also presents a way for ORAS only gamers to get them.

It's kind of a tossup, really. With gift Pokemon, you don't have to go through the hassle of catching them, but you also can't synchronize for nature, so you have to churn through a lot more of them.

This is a serial code event which you can get by pre-ordering tickets to the 19th Movie. Also note that Serial Code events are region locked so only Japanese consoles can get them. Tickets can be preordered at 7-Eleven, Ito-Yokado, Æon, Æon Supercenter, Toys "R" Us, Apita, Piago, AL.PLAZA, Heiwadou, Daiei, Fuji, Pokémon Center stores, Pokémon Stores, and cinemas showing Pokémon movies from April 16 to July 15, 2016.
OK. First couple of months it felt like everything worthwhile was from stores.

How or what email address did you send a support email to? I tried but their site lists only a snail mail option and the "ask us a question" page is down.
I thought both Mew and Celebi were from the store?

Should have clarified that I used the "Ask a Question" option. Though if you poke around the Contact Us areas, you may find a direct email instead of going through Ask a Question.
Welp, I sent them my support question for it too. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything, but their site makes it sound like they don't have to answer jack due to "high volume". Oh well...

Hi PokéGAF, I have an uncommon situation, I think.
Months ago, I obtained two Mew codes from Maxsoft distribution (so they will work on NA systems).
I know for sure I used one of them, but I really don't remember if I previously shared the other code with anyone. Worse, I still have both codes and I don't know which one I have used (if not both).
Since people have been so kind with me on the Humble Nintendo Bundle thread, I decided to share these codes, but I can't assure if one of them will still work.
If someone wants to try, just PM me, but please give me some feedback if any one of the codes is still working.
(I wanted to share my Kanto Bird trio codes too, but I never received the e-mail

So, in the event that customer support can't help me out with the May newsletter, would anyone be willing to trade their NA bird codes? Don't have any more event /codes/ to give, but have boxes full of past events as far back as the Diamond/Pearl era. The only Pokémon I don't have at all is Manaphy, so can't help there, and I'll have to wait until after my shift to check exactly what I have.
Edit: I do have access to Wishmaker Jirachi from the Coliseum bonus disk as well. Would be willing to trade shinies as well.

Did some quick research, looks like I'm outta luck for the May newsletter. Apparently there was a renewal email (I don't ever recall getting it, and if I did, I 100% absolutely would have renewed), and customer support is sending out generic responses that they can't help. That's a bummer.

Europe / PAL seems to be the same. At least we got Zygarde at the same time and so I'd be surprised if we don't get Xerneas and Yveltal.
(What the hell am I going to do with 4 of each ?)

Incorrect. In the EU, Zygarde is to be distributed until May 26th. Yveltal and Xerneas are probably only to be distributed by Serial Code (Not Nintendo Network) in Europe given that the only currently announced distribution of Yveltal or Xerneas is of Yveltal by Serial Code at the Salón del Cómic de Barcelona Festival from May 5th until May 8th in Spain.
