Hopefully, Nintendo isn't stupid enough to publish whatever they're developing again. Geist proved that even with a promising concept and some major design input from Nintendo, not to mention quite a bit of time in development, the company simply doesn't have the talent to create a decent game.
Most all the talk you hear about video-game makers in Orlando concerns Electronic Arts.
That's understandable. EA is by far the largest, employing more than 700 people, even with a recent layoff.
And the next largest in town?
That would be n-Space, which employs 50 folks now. Look for them to expand.
President Erick Dyke expects to add 20 art, production and designer types by the summer. The company is doubling its physical space, too, taking an additional 7,000 square feet in the Westwood Plaza near SeaWorld.
Dyke formed the company 11 years ago. He and his partners had been working on military simulators and took those same skills and turned them into making video games.
The company's titles include Geist and Duke Nukem -- as well as some Rugrats and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen games.
Best of all for future revenue, n-Space is producing games for Nintendo's new Revolution console, which is due out later this year.
