Who is AZ?
Nobody bought Nas' record?
Who is hovie?
Who is K?
Who is Jungle?
"when Ill Will got shot"?
Who is Will?
Maybe I can appreciate the song if I know what's going on.
jobber said:listen to all his previous albums...
East Clintwood said:Can't do that. Give me a roundup? Will is Will Smith?
I'm nowhere close an expert on Nas, but I'll try to share what I do know.East Clintwood said:Alright.

AZ is part of The Firm which also included Foxy Brown, Nas, and Nature. I don't know much about what the group put out other than the song Phone Tap, which I like a lot.
Nas' records have not sold especially well since his first two or three efforts. He hasn't become a mainstream success like other such rappers as Jay-Z, Nelly, or Eminem, for example. I believe they still do alright - I don't know the sales numbers for his last few efforts - but they haven't had the same success other, perhaps lesser (in Nas' mind), groups have experienced.
Hovie is one of Jay-Z's aliases. Nas beefed with him a while back, and while he was lyrically on-point with his diss tracks, it didn't do much to help his album sales. Jay-Z came out relatively unscathed in the end, and both were applauded for keeping their words on wax. I felt Nas absolutely murdered Jay on Ether. If you're interested in hearing some of what went on, give Ether and Jay-Z's Takeover a listen. There's more than that, but those two should give you enough of an idea of what each rapper was angry about.
K is Kelis, Nas' wife. I don't really get that line.
Jungle is part of Nas' Bravehearts crew, who never hit it big.
I thought Ill Will was Nas' record label. I'm not sure what he's talking about there, but it's not Will Smith.
So, there you have it. It's probably not as detailed as it could be, but you should have a general idea of what he's talking about now.

Pff. yeah right. I bet it went something like this:jobber said:Edit: fun trivia. Nas first met AZ when Nas was going to rob him.
PhatSaqs said:Pff. yeah right. I bet it went something like this:

And the rest is history.

I'm not quite sure what you're getting it, but I love Nas and always have. Favorite rapper among the big four.
Oh, ok. Told you I wasn't an expert!Himuro said:Yes it did.
"When I was twelve I went to hell for snuffing Jesus"
And Jungle is Nas's brother.
Himuro said:1. 2pac
2. Big
3. Jay Z
4. Nas
Ofcourse, the mainstream tops. Overrated, (except Nas) but yes, this is the general list of the "big 4".
Blackace said:I really got to ask...what big 4?
Nas is one of the best alive... but people who put Jay Z in the best rapper alive I don't see eye to eye with... If I had to list four...
1. E-40
2. Nas
3. Method Man
4. Redman or Eightball
DaddyZ said:E-40 is only good for coming up wit slnag that people catch onto years later.
My top 3 alive:
1.Nasir Jones
2.Siegal
3.Weezy F. (either you love him or hate him)
Himuro said:I was thinking individual artists, but if you want to include groups as well, I'd say Tribe is on there somewhere.like BUTTERRRRRRRRRRR
Himuro said:Agreed. Phife is awesome. He is way more interesting and drawing than Tip's lazy flow. I don't feel Tip's low key voice. Phife puts that ENERGRY into it.
Himuro said:I heard that Phife's album is weak.I haven't heard his or Tip's solo albums.
Nameless said:Top 4(Right now) no order:
Eminem-Its kind of hard for me to defend the guy latey not only because of the whole racist thing, but because his album was Hot Trash. But, hes been killing the mixtape scene latey, and as I've said before theres not an emcee who I can think of right now that has for CONSECTUIVE good releases as Em had with his first 4 albums.
T.I.-Been a fan of this guy for a long long time..I spoke of Em's 1st for Albums, well T.I. has released 3 and all of them have been great. Has one of the best flows of anyone right now.
Andre 3000- If this guy put out a Solo album where he does nothin but rhyme it would be one of the greatest albums ever.
Lil Wayne- Weezy F middle finger for life. He improved more since already being established than I think anyone has. He would have no doubt been considered one of the worst as would most of cash money 7 years ago but damn.. Between his last two albums, his collabs, the young money mixtapes, and his other mixtape shit..WOW.
