Is this a joke?

Is retail in America reaching THIS LOW as to give exclusivities to fucking retail stores?
Holy shit i hate Wallmart. They get deals from distributers because they buy in all quantity, they play politics and tell me what i'm supposed to buy and now it's exclusivities!! Please tell me this is a joke.

Blocknbuster had a number of exclusives in the past, at least you can buy this game.

Target also had some type of exclusive for Mario Golf gamecube

They'd had stuff like this before on a few other titles -- usually, it just means the game comes with a small card containing a few secret codes. Enter the codes and the "special" material is unlocked. Now, this could really be a special pressing, but that sounds unlikely.

it's probably not even a real exclusive. probably some cheat code that can only be found in walmart copies that unlocks some track found in all copies

or what david just said

Ok well if it's only cheats it can pass. But it's already a step into the wrong direction imo.
I don't want to see a day where there will be difference in content depending where you buy the game. It's extrapolation right now but it's the principle of all this that i fucking hate.

My copy of Metroid Prime has "Target Exclusive" or something like that on the cover. It came with a coupon book.

UH IT'S TOTALLY GOING TO BE WORTH BIG EBAY MONIES

On the subject of Wal-Mart...There's a Wal Mart in San Diego everyone calls El Wal-Marto.

It's about 5 minutes from the border, and there are maybe two employees who speak English there and the ATMs in the store don't have an English option. :lol

Man, inner city Wal Marts are scary too. In Houston, there's one in a really bad neighborhood, but it's the closest to where my mom used to live so we'd have to go there. The first time I went, I knew it was shit. It was one of the old style wal marts, the fucked up brick walls and all the old signs. Not even a super wal mart. Well, I went to the restroom and I was using the facilities when I heard this girl scream. That freaked me out. Then this kid that had been in there using the automatic dry things for your hands, just starts laughing uncontrollably at her screaming. And it's obviously coming from one of the stalls... in the mens restroom! So I see an employee right outside the restroom and I tell him about it and he says "yah, i get on it quick dawg" and he walks off into the layaway department. bah

The last few years has seen Best Buy having exclusive time periods to sell certain products, like the Rolling Stones Forty Licks DVD (HMV pulled all Rolling Stones product from the shelves in protest until the exclusivity expired). Just recently Starbucks had a two month exclusive period to sell an acoustic version of Alanis Morisette's Jagged Little Pill CD. Exclusivity is the way of the world, whether we like it or not.

Mario Golf had a Target exclusive thing, didn't it? It just came with a piece of paper with a password to get another course.

Sonc Pinball Party was Target exclusive too I think. Fat lot of good that did :)
