Nathan releases The Rehearsal for You...

Tonight, at 11:00pm, the auteur Nathan Fielder will release his next master work The Rehearsal on HBO...

Just watched the first episode. It's a much slower burn than Nathan for You, but still has the same charm. Excited to see more!

The King is back! Definately a different feel, but there's just enough Nathan humor to make it work. "Oh…door city over here!" I was instantly sold with that line.

Definitely not as funny as Nathan for You but both episodes have ended in pretty interesting ways. If you liked the series finale of Nathan for You, this is the natural evolution of that.

This show earns...

I was going to watch this episode but I got into an accident driving my Scion 100mph.

Same! "Door city over here" and "it's days like this that I curse the Chinese for inventing gunpowder" are both such incredible lines.
There were so many doors in such close proximity! That was such an awkwardly delivered, classic Nathan line. I await the opportunity to use it in my life at some point.

The best line from e1 for me was when Nathan says something like "I thought I'd look cool, but due to a slight difference in chairs...I looked like a fool."

The fact barely anyone is talking about this makes me sad.
Being locked behind HBOmax probably doesn't help. I wouldn't have gotten to see it at all if my gf didn't get a free sub to HBOmax with her cell phone plan.

That new episode is pretty wild. Both the woman and the guy she dated seemed totally nuts.

Apparently, this is the guy's brother

Didn't expect this to go for more than one episode since I figured each situation would just be contained within that span. But I should have guessed since they were still in the baby stage. I wonder if this will go beyond 2 episodes. Also how Nathan doing co-parenting is going to impact things. I wonder why they didn't just bring in an actor/actors to play the role, but maybe the initial plan was for her to find someone and then when that didn't work out it would be too short notice to hire them?

Also "so the government have got these sasquatch liaisons"

My brother theorized that Angela may quit or get the boot at some point and it's just Nathan. It's just crazy enough that I could see that happening and being a major portion of the season.

How bout the cringey pool session with Nathan, I think covering his nipples and trying to get super close to the guy, as a staged swimmer enters the pool.

I'll be honest that fuckin vizio flow chart was mind blowing by the end.

What a weird episode....and how much are they paying these parents to put the children is such weird situations.

I mean he did graduate from one of Canadas top business schools with really good grades, so I could understand why they'd trust him with the lives of their small children.

I've watched the trailer twice and I still have no idea what the show is about
It's basically him helping people to confront an issue they have by allowing an intricate "rehearsal" of the variables they may encounter.
When you read the premise, it doesn't sound all that interesting, but the lengths Nathan goes to as well as picking some interesting subjects is the secret sauce.
Dude is a comedic genius and there is really nothing else like it on television.

If you watched Nathan for you, it's in that vein of humor.

The shows losing steam for me a bit. Nathan Fielder being less comedic, while the show laughs at people with personality disorders, is rubbing me the wrong way. Still enjoying it but not nearly as much as Nathan for You.

I guess things worked out for those two

He is a druggie and she is a super overly religious person......I don't know how it would work.

I bet he believes in Halloween.

I did feel bad for the inheritance guy, but I hope he got what he wanted from his brother, but his brother must have been pretty awful to dictate not to give an adult their inheritance.

Also she had referenced that she used to drink and smoke weed a lot and it seemed like finding religion was a big turning point in her life where she then moved away from that stuff. So I can't imagine her being really into him doing weed. In that interview I posted above he does say they feel like they're meant to be together so maybe they have a connection that goes beyond what we saw on the show.

With the new episode it's getting pretty Inceptiony where he's organising a rehearsal within the confines of another one.

Yea the last one lost me a bit too...i think Nathan himself looking quite significantly older makes it come across a little weirder too. Holding out hope it'll pick up, though!

Are all the episodes out now? I want to binge them when it's possible. I did watch the first episode last night and this show is incredible.

Nah, still two episodes to go. Last one airs 19th August.

If you've only seen the first episode then you have a hell of a journey ahead of you.

This show is ****ing weird.

I've never seen a show where I'm like "This isn't working", "This is genius", "This is hilarious", "It's losing my interest", "This is wrong"...the entire time.

It feels like Nathan Fielder didn't realize the pitch he sold HBO and he's trying to hold it together the best he can.

The ending of episode 5 made me laugh. "What do tou think of Palestine?"

Never seen anyone so nervous.

Nathan moving the conversation away from the Judaism discussion by asking Angela what her favourite movie was only for her to say Apocalypto and that she loves Mel Gibson's work. Incredible moment.

She should have said the passion of the Christ.

So I did get HBO Max to watch this. I was a bit disappointed after episode 2, as I was expecting just several episodes with a different person & premise each time. Kind of got bored by this latest episode (5 I think). Here's hoping the remaining stuff brings it back around.

I expected a new person every episode too. And I think that would be more interesting. The lady just became to much and it was more about Nathan than the person.
