Pretty horrifying, can't a doctor not just cut it out?

I literally spent half of my morning watching videos, I think because of where they burrow it would be dangerous to cut them out. I assume its why every extraction video I've watched they're being squeezed out.

I think what blows my mind the most is when the victims of these parasites actually carry on living their lives after getting infected. Like the horsehair worm that infected the female cricket, but then she ended up recovering & giving birth to her own babies successfully.
