Yeah it's funny how I'm complaining about a lack of competition and then we run into those guys. And they're crazy. They don't take any plays off. It felt like we had to win every damn possession or else they were going to make the lead balloon. And they're piranhas in the passing lanes so I can't just pass where ever. I think playing crap teams so much forms tiny bad habits and then dealing with the elite teams throws me off rhythm a little.
Hopefully we run into another squad like that so we can practice beating that kind of defense
BTW my whole issue that game with me was defense. I pride myself on taking my match up out of it but it was doubly frustrating to keep getting beat off the dribble by the same shit.
Yeah their defense was really impressive, overall I feel like they were legitimately one of the best teams we've played on both sides of the ball. They had a great defense and their offense was smooth.
We should start running more offense and sets against bad teams.
|By the hesitation 3, Kobe Bryant cheese??? I know it's a bit risky but the percentages are on your side, of a guy plays like that then I just play the drive and give him the shot. So I'm playing like a good distance between us and probably have enough space to have a man between us. I'll give them the three, which they tend to take, and they don't make it that often. Only thing is that you can't gamble on steals or abuse the turbo button because that makes you over commit. So no turbo and no steals unless you have a help defender ready to pick up. That's how I deal with those cheese PGs.
My friend always jokes on me when we play 2v2s but he doesn't play perimeter at all. Playing against the constant hesitation 3 left right cheese is the most frustrating thing ever but I learned that staying still when they go through their animations help with the whole momentum thing 2K has that makes you get beat.
This team was actually really really good in how they attacked, it wasn't just the PG trying to create off the dribble 1 on 1, they used their PF to come up and set a high pick for him while he's doing it so eventually you run into the big man. I started going under the screen to help Phee and when I did he'd pass to the big man that was rolling to the rim who would either shoot or kick to the corner when someone would rotate to help, they were moving the ball like a hot potato off the high screen. Their wing players were scoring and playing off one another and looked like a genuine team. We've played Homicide Gang and they are cheesey, this team was just straight up good at execution and I feel like they were better than some of the higher rated teams we've played.
