Even in this early state, the game looks remarkably polished, running at a crisp framerate, and animating very smoothly. The character models and arenas in the game are also impressively detailed for a portable basketball game.

A new feature added to the PSP version of the game is superstar challenge. Five tiers of scenarios are included, based on actual NBA games. So you will be asked to do things like take control of Dwyane Wade for the last three minutes of a game, and score a certain number of points while leading your team to victory. Another scenario will have you in control of Steve Nash, and you’ll need to pile up some assists in the last few minutes of a Suns game. Successfully doing the scenarios in superstar challenge will unlock special jerseys and all-star teams.

As far as multiplayer goes, PSP NBA Live 06 will support both ad-hoc and infrastructure networking for two players. Online leaderboards and rankings will allow you to take on and compare skills with portable hoopsters around the country. NBA Live 06 for PSP is scheduled to ship in November 2005.

No screens or videos, but I saw it on G4TV and it looked like 989 Sports' NBA PSP game graphically.

this doesn't surprise me people that were expecting PS2-like graphics from either Madden or NBA Live on the PSP are going to set themselves up for a big disappointment.

edit: pictures stopped being hosted :(

Okay that looked pretty good to me.

The camera seemed a bit "slow" though in transitioning from half court to half court, and they appear to be using simple circle shadows. But the framerate looked pretty good and it looked like Live when in motion.

Everything is running smoothly. This magnum opus is extremely polished. The framerate is fine. There are no problems to speak of.

God damn, stop posting this picture, people. The horse has been beaten enough. Move on to some other stupid image that you guys will play out within two weeks.

Pretty good lookin' game, but the audio was strangely soporific. The crowd goes at a constant dull roar, no matter what happens on the court. There's no commentary or music either. Just the dull, ocean-like sound of the crowd. It'd be neat if there were a little more polish as far as replays and camera angle cuts, too. It was just "point is scored, swing the camera. Point scored, swing the camera."
