If they do this (make 3's harder), then they need to make the shot release timing more user friendly. Right now it feels inconsistent as hell. They also need to do away with timing for layups and dunks. The way they are both random grab bags in terms of execution, it's not fair to expect the player to need superhuman reaction to gauge the appropriate time to release the shoot button.
Is that too high or too low? I don't remember KJ being a prolific dunker.
Shot release timing is very consistent. What changes is what kind of shot you take and the stat ratings when you switch players.
Pick a player with a 3-pt rating at 10 and the shot release timing will be exactly the same as someone else with a 10 rating, but different compared to someone with a 9 rating. Also, squaring up to the basket and shooting is a different timing than taking a leaning shot.
KJ should have been at least a 5 in dunks.
Touche. I don't think I ever saw that highlight, or at least I don't remember it.
His isn't the only auspicious rating in the game. Vince Carter's dunk rating is something like 5, but I remember him being a dunk king. I'll never forget that time he dunked over some 7 foot guy during the olympics one year.
They should've used Raptors Carter. Some of the older player team choices are a bit odd. Wondering if the NBA had any input on that. Robert Parish on the Bulls, Carter not on the Raptors, Morning on Miami instead of Charlotte (this one is debatable, but still)...
I definitely regret buying this. Won't be picking it up until some patches fix this game. AI opponent is worst than anything I've played in NBA jam or street.
I think I lost 2 matches throughout my entire tournament run. IMO the problem people are having is that they're trying to play straight up instead of spamming 3s and steals. Throughout all of my tournament games, I can count the number of dunks I went for on one hand.
Im having trouble getting the ball back after blocking my opponent's shot online.
I have come to accept that everyone online is gonna just spam 3pt shots but its really not fun to block someones shot twice in one possession and not be able to get the ball back. Game has potential but they gotta do some tweaks, fix the stats and add more content.
The way loose balls work in this game, watch the white circle on the ground. Once that appears the players will start looking in the air at the ball. You basically need to box out the opponent. After a certain point your positions can't change no matter what you do. Just move between the opposing team and the ball before that point comes and they can't get the loose ball.
