NBA Playoffs |OT| AKA Derrick Rose's family time

Why the fuck are you y'all hoping for the Raptors of all teams to be the matchup to get upset.

Isn't bad enough we spent the past few years in mediocre irrelevance in the basketball world.?

The Raptors are a great basketball team but are they as good in the Playoffs? They should win against the Pacers but if they put up some stinkers like they usually do in the Playoffs, then would it even be a surprise? I like the Raps, I'll root for anyone not named LeBron when my Hawks get eliminated tho. I hope the Raps do get over the hump and shake that stigma of Playoff duds. We didn't shake our 2nd rd exit status until last year :/

Celtics fan checking in. No one's gonna pick us against the Hawks but everyone's been doubting us for two seasons now, no surprise there. Should be a good defensive series. Ready for some playoff basketball.

Playing the Hawks on the road was probably the worst outcome we could've got but at least it's better than last year.

Rediscovering their game in the second half against the Heat in a big way was worth it. To stumble into the first round after a blowout loss with the way they've been playing lately, I wouldn't feel confident no matter the opponent.

And yea, this is far from last year's Cavs round 1 matchup. Not ideal but the C's can compete with any team in the East.

I really don't know what to make of the Hawks.

I'm just annoyed by how badly they fucked up yesterday. Facing a depleted Washington team, they could've won the division, gotten the #3 seed, and then (potentially) avoided Cleveland until the conference finals.

Now all of that is out the window, and I'm honestly not sure of their chances against the Celtics.

I'll say Hawks in 7, but with a sense of hesitancy.

I don't have a ton of confidence in my Heat right now. Wade is nursing a hurt shoulder. Whiteside, Winslow and Richardson are in the playoffs for the first time. Going by what happened last night, they could implode on the basketball court any time the pressure seeps in. Johnson, Dragic and Deng are good but I feel like they're not enough.

I'm going to pick the Heat to win in six games for the first round because how can anyone have faith in the Hornets? They got good players, yeah. But I haven't seen them win anything. The only guy I trust to do damage consistently is Jefferson since the guy is incredibly skilled. All the other guys like Walker, Lin, Batum, they're wild cards and can swing both ways. The only way I see the Hornerts pulling it off is if they're nailing their threes.

I really want a Heat-Cavs series. I wish they would have ended up in the fourth or fifth spot. Oh well.

Man the Cav's. How often do you see a 1 seed with a 3-1 losing reg season record against the 8 seed? Granted last night didn't really count but still.

Hornets are about to surprise the rest of the NBA, it seems. looking at both teams, their depth, who can get really get going, and how they've been playing lately I'd be surprised if that series went to 6 games

Spurs got lucky by getting the Grizzlies. They better get their offense clicking before they move onto the next round because it's been awful the past couple of weeks.

What happened to Danny Greens Shot and Parker looks older then Tim and Manu at times.

Also, im working on an offseason thread because all the celtics fans wanted one.

I know this isn't the purtiest thread in the world, but I seem to be the only one willing to do these things :| Please, someone with actual talent tell me you'd rather do them

Im So happy Houston made it, I really want to watch the meltdown of this team, as they get swept. It will make my year.

Is it a meltdown ? There playing the Warriors and are suppose to lose. There is nothing left to meltdown. The team is a puddle on the floor at this point. Houston fans should act like they won the Championship if they get one game off of the Warriors.

honestly, I feel like the jays run last year is enough playoff success to sustain toronto for a good 10 years

I can see the raps going out first round, leafs continue to be in last place with no real improvement being made each year, and the jays missing the playoffs this year

The emotional meltdown will be fun to watch for me. I want them to be tortured.

Miami was the best matchup with their lack if the 3 ball. For some reason ATL teams is putting up Curry numbers against the Celtics this season from deep. At the end of the day if they play D they will be in it..if not they cant score in half court good enough to win.

Danny green hasn't shot good since the 2014 finals. I think it's a mental thing because he said it himself he hasn't really changed much in his shooting form. Only reason we have him still imo is because of how good defensively he is, especially when paired up with kawhi.

Spurs fan here. Love the OT, but none of those 3 are going to be playing for the Grizz. No complaints. Should be an easy sweep.

Things that will happen:

1. Celtics win a thrilling 7 game series against Hawks
2. Beverly injures Steph, makes it a competitive series
3. Dallas takes OKC to 6 games before losing.
4. Portland and Clippers go 7 games, Portland wins.
5. Deeetroiiiiit baskeeeeetbaaaal takes a 2-1 lead against Cavs, but lose 4-2.

I got some bad news for you my man. There going to get swept and not care. There is going to be no emotional meltdown what so ever. There going to be happy to be done with the season and go on with there millionaire dollar life's. The emotional meltdown is going to happen next year or this off season when we get see what James Harden will do next. Is there another kardashian he can date? Stay tuned and find out

If we won that game, then we face the Heat. Out of the 3 opponents, the Heat is the most fearsome. Too much veteran leadership. The Hawks arlready said they didn't care about 3rd since we were guarantee 4th anyway. I think they threw the game once they were notified Boston was in the lead. Even if Miami came back and won, we get Charlotte and that's even better than the Celtics. Either way, none of those teams can guard our front court. Except the Heat.

Im sure they threw the game to win the prize of playing the Cavs in the 2nd round.

That doesn't matter. You have to go through Cavs or Toronto either way. Cavs more than likely as LeBron is the ultimate gatekeeper. Why should it matter when you have to face him eventually anyway? Playing the Heat then the Raps are about in the same difficulty range as Celtics then Cavs.

Hawks don't get any respect from refs, do you know how frustrating it would be to watch a series between the Heat, Raptors, then Cavs? Would rather be 2nd Rd exits and just watch the finals.

Besides, the throwing the game thing isn't my assumption alone. heat think the same according to the media and I can see the Heat being a worse opponent for us.

how all the other team's have multiple players in the OP post yet with the Mavs it's just Dirk. Makes it look like it's the Thunder vs Dirk by himself.

Mark Cuban is the worst.......
