NBA Street Remix & NFSU Rivals screens (PSP games)

fifa and nba street look great to me. nopt ps2 quality, but should look fairly stunning on the portable screen.

actually, i saw NFS at TGS and it look like ass.
However, the latest videos running in game stores make it look a whole lot better...
at least, in first person view mode. It looks terrible in replay mode still.

Hey, neat:

Tiger Woods PGA Tour is almost a perfect fit for the PSP. All of the 20 professional golfers and each of the 12 courses are faithfully reproduced on the PSP screen. The analog swing structure is not only present, but it feels better than its console counterpart since the analog nub does a better job than the analog stick of mimicking an actual golf swing because of the way it snaps back into place.

NBA Street and Tiger Woods look like shit. NFS and NFL Street look decent but jaggy. But FIFA is the shiznit. Looks quit nice IMO. MVP shows potential, like the fact that they're modeling fingers and stuff. Amazing for a handheld, but overall, all the titles look rushed. And I'm hoping FIFA's textures only look like up close. I would expect the PSP do handle mip-mapping better. PEACE.

Maybe my eyes are blurry, but those Spiderman PSP pics are the first PSP pics to genuinely blow me away outside of Ridge Racers. I'm literally floored.

eh, am I the only one who sees that 1 up's pics poor quality? On top of the fact that the pics are massively enlarged (at least 5x the size of the PSP) they are just flat out bad pics. Compare the TW screens to the ones on IGN. I'm not worried about what the titles will look like, I'm just hoping they play as good as they will look. It kinda sucks to hear that NBA street will be more like 2 than 3. MVP should be the easiest to translate gamepla-wie since the pitcher/batter interaction is very basic.

Time to get a check up for a renewal on your prescription! :D

yeah those screens are terrible, probably tried to increase resolution or somethin

IGN has the EA game shots at the resolution they are supposed to be I think:

Anyone who thinks this looks like something from the N64 should have their head examined.

That looks like DS.

While the games will undoubtedly look 100x better in a year, these alone look significantly better than the pisspoor visuals every single DS release has pained us with. The DS can't do 3D without hurting our eyes; thus far, the PSP's output is beyond sufficient.

Come on, don't exaggerate. Neither Mario 64 DS or Metroid Prime Hunters hurt my eyes. In fact, they were both mildly impressive from a handheld standpoint.

There is nothing impressive, from a handheld standpoint, about Mario 64 DS or Metroid Prime: Hunters -- not after toying with the PSP. Mario 64 DS looks worse than its console housed forefather. It is not an exxageration to say the DS looks like a relic next to the PSP. You're either convincing yourself the DS's visuals look anything but dated -- laughable, really -- or graphics are simply not a priority for you -- and I can respect that. But, come on, man. Look at that proper screen of NBA Street. I don't even LIKE the Street series, but even I can acknowledge it looks better than any 3D game that you're likely to see on the DS. Exxageration? No. Fact.

Maybe this is true. I haven't played PSP. But I honestly was impressed with Mario 64 DS and Metroid Prime: Hunters. It obviously can't touch what PSP can do but this IS a handheld and for the first time it's midly competent 3D gaming. I can't say that I am disappointed with what DS offers. Just because PSP raises the bar visually doesn't mean it can distract from DS own little slice of the pie in terms of what it has done.

That's my take, but I obviously also have slightly different standards. I value artistic presentation and gameplay a lot, and I also love 2D gaming so Castlevania DS is really great.

I own both and I can safely say that this, at least, is not true :P You'll probably quote the fact that it has no texture filtering but this is actually fairly negligible on the small screen and instead you're left with a sharpness that is a bit more appealing and a polygon count that is quite a bit nicer.

I don't know what you're trying to get me to say. Graphics AREN'T a priority for me but the visuals on Metroid Prime Hunters and Mario 64 DS still impressed me. And naturally I'm much more impressed by what PSP offers, but that doesn't negate my original opinion on DS visuals.

I'm not the one saying NBA Street looks like an N64 or DS game.

Twisted Metal looks awesome! THUG2 looks good. Spiderman not bad. Seems like the pic resolution makes a difference. Those 1UP pics look like ass. PEACE.
