Overview

With over 5 million copies sold worldwide and over 20 Sports Game of Year awards, last year NBA 2K11 allowed you to BECOME THE GREATEST with MJ & the Jordan Challenge mode. This year the NBA 2K franchise is back and bigger than ever, providing fans with the opportunity they’ve always dreamed of – to finally END THE DEBATE as to who are the best teams and players of all time. Featuring such NBA legends as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird as well as all of your favorite NBA players of today, NBA 2K12 will be packed with new and exciting features that will be revealed in the weeks and months ahead that, come October 4th, will put fans center court of an unprecedented basketball experience.

Legends: Building on last years Jordan Challenges, 2k has included 15 more Legends in the game. Unlike last year you don't have to do a specific challenge, all you have to do is win. List is below:

The Association: NBA2K's franchise mode

My Player: Take a player from the NBDL, to the NBA and beyond. Goal here is to make it to the Hall of Fame. My Player was the most popular feature last year and it has been retuned to make the process of getting your player "good" less tedious.

Season: Standard basketball season without the features of association.

Online Modes

The Association Online: For the first time every, Association will be playable online. Full 32 teams. Salary cap. Trades. Offseason. Everything in the offline Association has been brought online. More info on this in the Developer Insight below.

Crew: Who knows if this will work this year. Take your My Player and team up with others and compete online. Can also play 5 on 5 in a regular exhibition game online. Lots of fun...when it works.

Game only runs with the DVD in (yeah, yeah, guess I could find a no-cd) and doesn't tie in to Steam. I have both 2k9 and 2k10 on Steam and can download them whenever I want.

I haven't played online yet. Playing with a friend with his copy (getting mine tomorrow). He played one regular game online and it was smooth. A lot smoother than 2k11 usually is for me.

I have been playing this game since wednesday of last week.

PS3

1. The fatigue slider is backwards. instead of going 50 down, you must go 50 past 50 to about 58 or 60

2. Vertical slider needs to be reduce, these cats jump out of the gym.

3. Custom music is still fucked up, will die on you within 4 games.

4. The best sports game as far as A.I. is concern period

5. The amount of jaggies on the PS3 has been reduced.

6. Why did Visual concepts get rid of the on the fly coaching(OTFC) on the directional pad and replace it with cameras? who changes cameras on the fly?

7. Did I mentioned the best sports game to date? NO HYPERBOLE here, just straight up dope.

8. Visual Concepts are next level when it comes to signature style. They gave the LEGENDS the treatment and you will smile with emphasis when you see those guys you recognize.

9. Lessons learned, staying in front of your man. No it's not cheese when you get beat off the dribble handily. You must adjust, and as a noob you will get torched. Remember L2+R2 and the LS in the direction of the offender to change direction of the driver

10. The A.I. will run a bevy of plays too confuse you, show you same looks with different plays and vice - versa.

11. Damn this game controls like a dream, it does what you tell it to do.

12. SECRET escape dribble into a shot, is also signature gathers. You must hold L2 and move and hold the RS in the desired direction and before the move ends push the RS in the opposite direction. Beautiful animations here guys

13. All the animations or moves can be branching or broken out of, for some spectacular adlibs. From shooting too passing, too dribbling too passing. Go to training camp when you get the game and also freestyle practice, but make sure you grab a guy who can perform the moves you seek. In basketball we are not all created equal.

14. Assigning plays to your player. Understand his attributes or style of play and assign him a playbook fitting him. i.e. Jason Kidd is a 3pt/midrange guy, not a cutter or slasher, low post ect... They completely revamped this mode/feature and you must be cognizant of what you assign your player. Playbooks are great.

Overall after damn near a week with the game, I came away very impressed with the CPU A.I. they will exploit mismatches and will keep riding you until you fix the problem.

The Post moves have been revamped and easily understood and effective. Please Practice your Post Moves. It will Make you say damn.

I will stop here and I wasn't half way finished.

Post play is fucking crazy compared to last year. Maybe it was just me being bad, but I barely ever posted up. Could never get anything out of it. Way different this year. Already dominated the post in a couple of games with Zach Randolph, Orlando Shaq, and Hakeem. Feels (and looks) great.

Yea, I saw that but I'm hoping to get an actual discount on the game itself since 60 would clean my debit out. The rest I have is cash in my wallet and that never works out, lol.

For a decent price, I could get this and it will last me longer than most other games since it's so replayable. I'll search a lot but it'd be nice to find it in one place on here in the future even after release.

This gaming season is going to be painful...lol

Edit: Wait a second, the PC version is still incredibly cheap? $30 right now but it'd be perfect at $20.
