Nbots, turn in your uniforms here

ONE CONSOLE FUTURE.

Now it all makes perfect sense. No one was talking about Revolution (PR, Developers, etc.) because there is NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT.

It's great to be on the winning team.

Bye guys, don't let the door hit ya on your giant foreheads.

Mario Luigi DS here I come

what the fuck was up with that half assed metroid. BLOODY IMMERSIVE? Nighttrain really should be banned for making so much shit up. It looked like shit.

The thing is Nintendo has all these 1st / second party and then had nothing to show? And they brought Miyamoto over to show Nintendogs? Its such a poor showing on a level that beyond the PD0 fiasco. Absolutely awful.

Disappointed, definitely, but there was a silver lining. The DS online bits were good, as well as the Zelda footage. Some things were just outrageously uncalled for though, like the DJ, and the Nintencunt.

They needed to show Rev footage, or at least the controller.

I will turn my uniform in when I know what the Rev can and will do. Right now I am under the impression it will at least close to the power of PS3/x360 and even if I might get a PS3 first that doesnt mean I wont get a Rev later for all the great Nintendo games (which will come and look and play great).

I don't know where you get that impression. Nintendo stated in USA Today that Revolution will be 2-3x more powerful than the Gamecube.

Compare that with the upgrades on the PS2 & Xbox side and they are really, really behind techwise. It seems their controller is going the be the make it/break it aspect of this system and the console itself, from the specs released, doesn't seem to offer any advantage at all.

Well it might just be the end of Nintendo, but the Zelda footage and the MUSIC was freaking fantastic! There are no words!

too bad the rest of the show sucked :(

Saddest thing is that Zelda will end up being overshaddowed

The music really kicked ass it was dark and sad at the same time

Damn I Hate Nintendo

Honestly? It was a fiasco on the scale of E3 2003.

Having said that, all will be forgotten when we actually see motherfucking revolution footage. Smash Bros Rev Online at launch, and everybody swears they will not buy a Revolution? I think not.

There isn't always a Spaceworld, it's been cancelled before.

That's what happens when you put a software guy to run the company, Miyamoto would also sink the company if he had full control over hardware (actually he fucked over the co. by insisting on cartridge for N64).

There hasn't been a Spaceworld for years. I'm honestly not expecting one this year either.

Yeah, I was thinking that. Immediately following the thing I wanted to kill Nintendo. Thinking about it though it was my fault for thinking this would be a huge Rev blowout when it was said before that it wasnt.

Half of this is Nighttrains fault. Where is he so we can lynch him?

Their conference sucked and blew at the same time. However, Reggie and Co. said this E3 would not be Revolution's coming out party -- we just didn't listen to them.

That said, they could've shown a lot more of the DS online stuff instead of Nintendogs for 30 minutes, they could've shown a lot more footage of Zelda GC, they could've shown Mario 128 (which is obviously now a Revolution launch title), and they could've gotten some 3rd parties up there for moral support. But they didn't.

Wait 'til SpaceWorld! :lol :-(

:lol I just LOVE internet knee-jerk reactions. They're great! Some of you people need to peel your face off the monitor and go outside, take a breather.

Anyway, the conference sucked. To say I'm gonna kill nighttrain or whatever is just plain retarded. He was being fed crap info from SOMEONE and it got him worked up JUST LIKE YOU - YEAH YOU. Don't take your pathetic little outrage out on him.

I will be keeping my uniform and you traitors will be among the first to be lined up against the wall and shot.

Didnt you know?

"the revolution will not be televised!"

I simply dont believe this news. Rev will have 512MB, there is no reasonable way to build a power PC machine with an ATI graphics card that is only 2-3x more powerful than GC.

btw. RE4 with 3 x the polygon count, 3 x larger textures, 3 x as many light sources, 3 time the antialiasing etc. at 720p would look a lot better than PD0.

can't say i am surprised about nintendo's shitty showing, therefore not dissapointed. i went in thinking it would suck, and came out knowing it.

I doubt anyone truely means it. I meant it to be humorous at worst. Sarcasm is dead to the internet sadly.

Yes your post seemed sarcastic, some others, not so much. Not talking about just in this thread either.

I'll wait 'til I see what the system can do... But I really don't think it was wise of Nintendo to show nothing at all -- not even b-roll of games in development -- with what the competition has shown.

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/products/games/2005-05-17-revolution_x.htm

Xbox spokesmen have pointed out that 360's specifications are 10 to 13 times more powerful than those of the original Xbox; Sony said Monday that the processor in Play-Station 3, which will come in several colors and be out next spring, will be 35 times more powerful than the PS2 processor.

Nintendo makes more modest claims that Revolution is two or three times more powerful than GameCube. "It's not all about having 'turbo power,' " Nintendo's Perrin Kaplan says. "It's about what you do with it."

I can't wait to read Matt's reactions...they're gonna be so venomous...it'll be great. Honestly though, is anybody surprised. Every developer interview hasn't heard a thing in terms of specs. There's been minimal communication to them at best, so what exactly were you expecting?

Also, this direction (one of minimal size and minimal power) is really starting to take shape. It's as though they've conceded the "heavyweight" division and are content to deliver to children and their hardcore base regardless of graphics. It's not a slam on them, honestly, its a move that ensures their future. They probably see the writing on the wall and it costs a fortune.

Your trusting USA Today for info on the Rev? USA Today!! They probably got 2-3x from like how many Mhz the processor is or something.
It was Steven Kent (he probably knows more about gaming than you do) and it was a quote was from Perrin Kaplan.

While their PC was pretty damn disappointing, I'm not declaring them toast...at least not any more toast than I thought they could be. I've always assumed that Revolution would the 'weakest' of the three systems with Iwata's constant talk of not wanting to go head to head with either Sony or MS in the power dept. It's clear they wanted to move away from all of that to look good in their own right, with their own innovations.

I'm still waiting, yet a little more indifferent to Ninty and their new system now...they really should've shown something more significant if all of their competitors have shown quite a bit of theirs. After all, Nintendo is supposed to be launching next year...now looking like they'll be last into the generation. Not dead, just not really anticipated is how I view Revolution now.

I turned in my uniform after the last E3, and I'll hand in my ID card today. When I only buy one or two titles a year, I cannot support a console. While the Gamecube was a worthwhile investment the first two years, it just isn't paying off the way the Xbox and PS2 are.

-1 Nintendo.

WE ALL KNEW we were gonna get the "wait 'til SpaceWorld" mantra. Johnny Nighttrain isn't to blame...it's anyone who thought otherwie.

Not to be the "damage control" kind of guy, but most of us who were realistic JUST expected the casing and *maybe* some demo's. I know I wasn't expecting the controller and for good reaason. As far as the games go...no matter what Nintendo would've shown...it would've been upstaged by the 360 (since it's much closer to launch) and *especially* PS3 games that were shown...so what's the point in showing if they aren't ready? Plus, they obviously didn't want to reveal everything now, so showing games would've been sorta pointless 'cos it's not just about what's on the screen, it's about the gameplay interface...and with Sony & MS both touting things like standerd wireless controllers & WiFi networking I'm glad Nintendo kept the rest of their cards close to their chest for the time being.

Be realistic guys!

MS dethrowned Sony, it's just that some people are easily amused by CG and some sony fans are being fanboys of course. People don't want to see it the right way but whatever... I think both companies did good.

you're fucking high :lol

Fuck nintendo.

-1 fan here.

They said they're taking on the competition and won't be less powerful, and will launch in the same time frame as the PS3. Well, PS3 will be out in LESS than a year in japan and both sony and microsoft are going all out in terms of next-gen info. What does nintendo show? an ugly and plain brick and more teasing. Fuck them. Even if rev ends up with the best 1st party support, I'll only get it when it's $99 at the end of its life.

I'm at least glad the PS3 is so far ahead of the game that I can get by with one console next generation. Bye-bye Nintendo.

The conference was pathetic, but I'll wait until the official unveiling...

I usually end up getting 2 systems anyway.

/sneakily grabs uniform back. I can wait. Last night too much for my fragile heart. Sleep is recuperating. I feel much better. Like Snake

I dunno, I think I'm on something... ATI is manufacturing the Nintendo Revolution card, and it is called "Hollywood."

So I was going around an ATI link Spike put up in another thread (i posted this in the other thread first, and found this...)

http://www.ati.com/gitg/promotions/crytek/index.html

ATI and Crytek
"The future of PC gaming, Hollywood style"

"that harnesses the capabilities of the new ATI Radeon® X800 XT and PLATINUM EDITION for Hollywood-style “machinima”—photo-realistic cinematic computing that promises to change the way you’ll game in the future!"

Isn't Nintendo's chipset from ATI called "Hollywood?" Maybe the game is just a video or some shit, but I was watching the stream and it looks like an awesome game. CryTEK always makes awesome games (so i'm probably just way off here, they made Far Cry).

I don't have a uniform but I got a permanent tattoo right here in my heart!!! :$

But seriously, like I said in my thread also, I can't root for a company that gives half effort and doesn't even care to put up a good fight. What's the use. Yes I might try to pick up zelda rev or mario rev after I'm done mgs4, ffxiv, halo 3... that's it. My attention is not on them anymore.

I'll just pick up their games if it's 'good' not because it's Nintendo.

No reason to turn in the uniform. There was nothing shown, so there's no reason to give up on them. Yet, anyways.

Yes, the GPU is named "Hollywood." The CPU is titled "Broadway."

It's just a demonstration of Crytek's game engine using an ATI card (the focuses on Hollywood style effects). I don't see how it would be related to Nintendo in any way.

Aww... little babies crying about their system :lol

Seriously, I like Nintendo alot, but after this gen, I really don't care about consoles anymore, and I'm only 17. Some of you are TWICE my age and are truly taking this to heart. Calm down and realize that there's a great looking new Zelda (which I'll rent; no way in hell I'm paying $50 for a damn console game) and Revolution looks to be a good looking console. Also, N said that they're creating new IP's for Revolution, which might cause me to be interested in buying the console sometime in late 2009!

Exactly. Nintendo even said before that it wasn't the Rev's coming out party, but people chose to listen to who they wanted to based on what they wanted to hear. To anyone who didn't listen to Nintendo, it's your own fault for feeding off of "Insiders" and blowing your own expectations out of the water.

Here now everyone is pissed off, blah, blah, blah....when in fact you know just as well as I do next year when they're showing SSB:M online and other stuff you'll be right back lapping it up. You're just pissed over what was done now. Would you rather they show incomplete stuff that isn't up to snuff so you can bitch and complain? Probably so.
