Anyone played it? How is it? I played the game on PC long time ago but sold it later because it didn’t run very well on GeForce 4 MMX. Thinking of buying the PS2 version please help.

I don't know how it's held up, but it was pretty darn fun back when it was released. It's much better than the PC, GC, and XBOX versions, though. An entirely different game with a different developer, as you've probably heard.

It's an awesome game - great graphics, fun arcade style driving mechanics and all sorts of exotic cars to unlock and drive.

I was disappointed that EA decided to go away from the NFS formula and instead made the Underground games.

I like need for speed series more than Burnout and that's why I wanna check it out. The PC version was fun but the keyboard sucks for driving games and I was getting 25 FPS thanks to my terrible graphix card.

I downloaded some movies of the PS2 version, it looks cool!

I rented the Xbox version when these were just released. Though imperfect it was still fun to play.

Gamecube, XBOX and PC version of NFS Hot Pursuit 2 are the same, only difference are the graphics. The PS2 version is a totally different version and the best, courses are different and better, sense of speed is better and the main difference is that in Hot Pursuit mode, the police chases and try to bust the AI cars too, not only your car.

Yes you are right, the PS2 version was developed by EA Canada and the other versions were developed by some EA US studio.

ea need for speed games locked at 60fps - you made my day. the us version runs at a unsteady 30fps and the pal with stable 25fps. only a few noticeble framedrops. i prefer the pal over the ntsc.

This is one of the select few games that is not only better than the Xbox version....it is VASTLY better (imo) than any other version of the game....I have it and love it....reminds me of the PSOne version of Hot Pursuit very much, which is the whole point of the game..

If you liked the first PSOne version....you will probably like the PS2 version....

It is even possible that you may like the PSOne HP, the PS2 HP2 and NOT LIKE the XBOX/GC/PC version of HP2....if you can believe that one...

Hot Pursuit 2 plays best on the PS2. I've played all versions, including PC.

You won't regret purchasing it.
