i just hooked up my dvd burner and it burn music cds and dvds but it wont play anything. i tried playing audio cds and dvds. anybody know what could be the problem?

yeah it burns cds just fine. but when i try to play them it skip real bad. i put the cd in my other drive and it plays well. i think i got the drive hooked up wrong

ima try changing the drive from slave to cable select and see if it helps

You probably need to enable DMA, check in your Device Manager under IDE controllers, Primary IDE channel & Secondary IDE channel
(I'm assuming you are using Windows)
If it doesn’t work you may need to tweak it in your BIOS.
