Sasquatch of 1000 (hairy) colons
Okay so I just came back from a little trip for the last 3 days, and i turned off my computer before I left. I come home, turn it on, and walk out of the room, but come back and see it at the screen that comes upw hen windows doesn't start and you have tp pick safemode or whatever to start it again. so i hit it to run normal, and then it starts up again, i watch it, it gets to the windows xp screen with the little blue bar going across, and then i see it flicker a BSOD, then it restarts on its own, goes back to the "choose a mode" screen, and it seems to be stuck doing that. I've tried starting in safe mode, as well as the "last known" configuration, and its all just a little bit of history repeating.

anyone got an idea on how i can diagnose this? i mean, i jut came home from being gone for 3 days, and no one could have messed with it. and the BSOD is there for just a flicker, I can't read it at all, just saw it is blue. is this a virus or something? I mean, i'm pretty good with computers and such, but i don't know what to do. i'm gonna keep trying to get it to start again. so please, help a bro out.

i dunno if i can do it, it didnt even look like a proper bsod, it was really just a blue flicker. i thought maybe it could be ram, but i replaced it a little under a year ago after it went berzerk on me.

My money then is on the power supply, or mobo. If you left it plugged in, maybe a surge happend or something.

Could it be the power supply when it crashes just when it tried to start windows? I'm gonna try and find my xp disc and see if i can repair it or something. i can't just format, i've got too much stuff on it right now that i can't lose. i tried taking a picture of the blue screen, but like i said, its just too fast. i think tomorrow i'll open it up and check out whats going on inside. what a disheartening thing to come home to. bah.
