Hey MarkMan...any word on the Death Smiles Arcade Stick? Is it quick disconnect, or are the buttons soldered directly to the PCB?

Yes Boss! where did you preorder from?

I finally modded my SE stick but ever since I started using it, it loses connection for no reason--it will not register sometimes after working fine for a bit and my 360 will ask for it to be re-connected. Other times it will shut off and then re-connect a second after all on its own. Also, in lieu of shutting off entirely, sometimes it will work fine--except that it won't register my FP & HK buttons. This is usually remedied by disconnecting/reconnecting from the USB port though.
I also mediated the problem somewhat by replacing the break-away portion of the cord with one from my Hori stick, which fits much more snugly/securely on the Madcatz SE and in the USB port as well. Now it disconnects much less but its still not gone altogether.
Does your Hori stick have the same problem? If not, it probably isn't your USB port, but the SE stick that is going bad.bob_arctor said:On the 360--how can you tell if your USB port is dying?

Gamestop.com blows. They can't seem to verify my American Express since my billing is different than my delivery...and I order thousands of dollars annually at other places with a separate billng and shipping with that same card.
Anybody else get this drama?
I've called them three times to and talked to three different reps and they say the same thing. Seems like my hopes for another TE have been lost.

buy.com shipped my TE stick today
And my Desu Smiles sticks are shipping from Amazon jp to my friend's house soon.
Damn.
I think I might just sell the TE stick hahahaha. I still don't have my order filled from Capcom.
Ah I've had this problem too. Started popping up after I fixed the broken PCB in my EX2 but it's also been an issue with my HRAP EX since I got it. It's very very rare but it happens.bob_arctor said:On the 360--how can you tell if your USB port is dying?

Last week I placed and order from them and got a verification phone call later in the day. And the day after that they canceled the order. And then two days ago I got an email requesting I call them to verify my order. Whatta bunch of boobs.Yes Boss! said:Bah,

And you've got me paranoid about the TE I have on the way! I hope it is OK. I want to make it all pretty-like but I dunno what I'd put on it. I was leaning towards some Jack Kirby art but after seeing the Kago stick I'm thinking going Japanese might be fun. I'd love to put this on it, since it sums up how I feel playing them fighting games, but all those damn buttons would get in the way and I'm not much for photoshop work._dementia said:You guys are making me paranoid about my HRAP EX. It's been working perfectly ever since I imported it last year though.
Yes Boss! said:Are you in Japan as well and will be able see inside it? Just curious about the innards as I'm waiting for confirmation before ordering Seimitsu buttons. Mine probably won't arrive till around the 30th.

I want to change from the square gate to the Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate from LizardLick, however I read that installing the gate with the stock stick isn't recommended.
Anyone know why that is? Or did anyone go ahead and install it anyway?
I got the email this morning as well, so stoked!kazuo said:Hay guys,

DoubleTap said:Only because the stock stick on the SE tends to break so why bother? Not to mention the stock gate is a b*tch to take off.
Protip: Use Vinyl Dye instead of paint. It'll stain the plastic itself you you won't have to worry about the color chipping off like you would when using paint.Yes Boss! said:So,
I wanna paint my TE bezel. What types of paint and coating do I buy for the most professional look? I'm doing pink and I'd prefer a more matted than glossy finish. Will this look decent or am I gonna have to deal with chipping and stuff like that?
Yes Boss! said:Also, any links to a collected list of TE custom mods? I'm having my brother design the template and I just wanna give him a sample of what has been done.

MarkMan has a sweet compilation on the SDTEKKEN flickr photostream
That's a really good question. I don't know. Wouldn't white dye do the trick?Yes Boss! said:Thanks. When you say dye is it the type of dye that will be able to shift a Red bezel to Pink? I'm only familiar with Rit dye which is only good to go to darker shades.
_dementia said:That's a really good question. I don't know. Wouldn't white dye do the trick?
Ahh I thought it was an issue in some emulators too._dementia said:Rummy, there are no input problems with VSHG and SFIV. If I'm not mistaken, the issue only exists within T5DR/T5DR:O.
BigJonsson said:EB Canada needs to get the fucking TE sticks already
This is really getting out of hand

Pretty impressed with this vinyl paint technology. I did not even know stuff like this existed (at least not in inexpensive can form)! I'm going to be doing one more light coat but so far it looks hella professional.
Now, just gotta wait for the shops to come back online so I can order pink Seimitsu buttons. The below Peach image will be incorporated, so if anybody has any design ideas throw them my way.
gokieks said:What kind of dye did you use? I used Krylon Fusion to paint the bezel white on mine, but it was really easy to get smears from other parts onto it, so I'm thinking I might re-paint it sometime down the road.

I want to purchase a entry-level arcade stick to play SF4 on the PS3. I have no modding experience and do not plan to mod the stick.
What can I do *right now* if I am wanting to spend ~125$ USD to order online?
Helps!
