Hey dude I don't understand why some people like illustrations of furries all over their joysticks but whatever makes them happy. I learned long ago everyone shares my same tastes.Baron said:I don't quite understand why people make the right two buttons on an eight-button span a different color than the other six. Why do you do that? I think it kind of ruins the nice color coordination you could have otherwise.

Okay, so I bit the bullet and I pre-ordered 2 HRAP's for the PS3 from videogamecentral. They say pre-orders are ETA for may 10th *crosses fingers*... anywho, they were 129.99 each -- is that at least decent? I used the free shipping coupon from toneroni... vs paying 99.99 each from play-asia but with 96$ shipping..
Did I make the right move? T_T *nervous*
Glad to see you were able to order something.YakiSOBA said:Hey guys!

The PS2->USB adaptor is mine, we just used it for testing, and all of those sticks and controllers work on my PS3. I'll ask him to see if the FS3s work on the PC, thanks dude!DoubleTap said:Did he happen to update his PS3 while one of the PS2 adapters was plugged in? I heard this caused all sorts of problems.
Did you try out all his sticks on a PC to see if they work?
Sanwa OBSF-30 and OBSN-30 buttons are compatible. OBSF-30 are easier to installBillyG_3001 said:Wahey
I got an email yesterday that my SE Madcatz 360 is being shipped to me,
What buttons are compatible with the SE Madcatz?
& also I heard that the stock stick is rubbish & should be replaced, what is the easiest & best stick to replace it with?
Thanks in advance for any help/info given to me, I can't wait til it arrives

Seimitsu PS-14-G and PS-14-GN buttons are also compatible if you prefer them to Sanwa. PS-14-G are easier to install.
Just think that N in the naming convention = Nut, meaning they screw in instead of snap in.
The stick you want to replace it with is either a Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK or Setmitsu LS-32-01 again, depending on preference.
Yep. Drop in the stick, screw it to the mounting bracket and plug in the 5-pin connector. Super simple.BillyG_3001 said:Thanks _dementia
Luckily I already have 8 Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons that I bought when I was trying to mod my Street Fighter Anniversary Stick (which didn't fit & I still haven't got round to doing)
How easy is it to replace the stick? Is it as simple as screwing the old one out & the new one in or is there more to it?
Thanks again

dude i have the same problem i think. Just stopped registering after a while.Dizzy-4U said:I have a Street Fighter 15th Anniversary stick (PS2/Xbox). The thing is that the cable is broken somewhere. If I twist the cable it works fine but it's sucks because if the stick moves a little, I lost connection.
Is there a place that sells the cable replacement for this stick? I'm not good at soldering, so I didn't bother changing the PCB, but I noticed that the cable is easy to replace.
FindMyFarms said:Aside from the whole personal taste thing, if you look at a lot of joystick schemes, the two off colored buttons are the ones not used. This makes it easy to spot which 6 of the 8 buttons are going to be the default setup for the user.
baron said:I understand what you mean, but if you aren't going to use 25% of your buttons, take them out and plug the holes! It's a stupid peeve I have, I think it's a bit silly that people do this color thing. Changing the colors does nothing for me - you aren't looking at the buttons while playing, thinking to yourself, "hm, these two buttons are a different color - better not touch them!
My god, I feel so much better now.
Teknopathetic said:You could really make a similar argument for any sort of color scheme/art modification done to any joystick, not just 2 off color buttons.

It was probably done so the default SF4 console scheme wouldn't have to be reconfigured via the menu when using it.Rummy Bunnz said:You never know when you might need those two buttons though!
The TE gets points for proper face button layout, with A and B horizontal instead of vertical, but whose bright idea was it to put LT and LB on the right and RB and RT on the left? It's incredibly goofy.
Baron said:I removed the last two buttons on one of my HRAPs, the PS3 one I mainly use for SF2 HD Remix. It has helped immensely - and I'm just a very casual SF player. I guarantee you that taking the right two buttons out will be more of a boon to your game than leaving them in and making them a different color. I play a noticeably better SF game without those extra 2 buttons to contend with. If you need those buttons to navigate a menu, just keep a DS3 or 360 pad nearby. I do, but I haven't had to use it, and haven't missed the buttons at all.

Yep. Still don't understand why those extra buttons have become the default configuration for EVERY STICK lately. VSHG was the last stick with thought put into the button layout.Baron said:I removed the last two buttons on one of my HRAPs, the PS3 one I mainly use for SF2 HD Remix. Because some games, like SNK fighters, benefit from having 4 buttons in a row? It looks like there was plenty of thought put into the layout of the TE's buttons - MarkMan posted a photo earlier in the thread of the different styles it works with. Still not happy about the L&R goofiness though!Freshmaker said:Yep. Still don't understand why those extra buttons have become the default configuration for EVERY STICK lately. I can circle a row on my VSHG that works just as well for that. (Especially since Neo Geo layouts were never linear.)Rummy Bunnz said:Because some games, like SNK fighters, benefit from having 4 buttons in a row?
Isn't the Japanese SNK layout similar to this though?Rummy Bunnz said:Because some games, like SNK fighters, benefit from having 4 buttons in a row?
A joystick with a bit of history behind it, the Eurojoystick was originally purchased from Industrias Lorenzo in kit form by Happ, who added Cherry microswitches and black washers and sold it as the "Competition" joystick sold above. This is the original, high-quality stick manufactured by iL. Now includes Cherry "D" series switches with .187" tabs, and color-matching dust washer. Please note: the "Spare Parts" for the Competition sticks are iL manufactured, and will fit these sticks also...
