Thanks. Not sure if I'll bite there. Didn't Arcade Shock promise HRAP3s and HRAPEXes last November/December but not deliver them until the following February when Amazon got theirs? Plus the NO REFUND + PAY IN FULL UP FRONT policies are suspect.

Definitely tempting though.
 
Has anyone tried replacing the SF IV SE stick with one that has a circular base? That's what I learned with back when SFII first came out.

I don't think they make circular restriction gates that are compatible with the stock stick. They do make such a thing for Sanwa JLWs though, it's part name is Sanwa GT-0.

Yeah, they are a pretty jank seller when it comes to preorder fulfillment...but as long as they eventually deliver I can wait. At $140 for an EX-SE I'm biting and getting a second one if the preorder page stays up over the next few days. CA tax and shipping take it up another $30 but still a good deal :-(
 
I just hate how arcadeshock automatically charges your card before they ship it. And the shipping charges is also pretty steep :-/

but fuck man, I'm addicted. Damn this thread. :lol
 
Btw,

Here is the inside of the new HRAP3-SE if anybody is wondering. A smidge friendlier than its 360 brother. Nice and clean with its small PCB.

Preordered! I'd like to see the listing for the new HRAP3-SE as well. I'd like a few more of these. Is is possible that the SE and the new 360 EX-SA are forthcoming? I'll back-up order from the usual sources but I'd like doubles at cheapy, ship-free, tax-free rates from Amazon. Has Hori seen the light (profit?).

Damn that's a good price! Unfortunately Arcadeshock credit card processor doesn't play nice with non-US cards so I'm foiled once again!

And look the EX-SA's sold out on the horistore already!

LL = Lizard Lick? If so, yes, my order was placed on the 23rd. They charged my card, but I didn't get an email or anything as of yet, let alone my parts!

My ghetto stick mods. So far they've served me well. The SE has a neat meshball but you can't see it.

Nothing special. But I plan on adding art to the SE and getting some colored seimitsu buttons for the TE.

Pity the North American HRAP boxarts are so much more loud and garish than the subtle, well-designed Japanese ones. Oh well, ordered.

Actually it's pretty much the same price in yen. But yeah hopefully we get the same box as the original release. I wonder if the arcade stick market is just as hot now that SFIV fever has cooled down. We'll find out in a few months I guess!
 
I used an octagonal gate for a bit. I honestly don't get the point of octagonal gates for fighting games. They were developed by Sanwa for use in Virtua Striker, a 3D arcade soccer game - and they work well for that.

then again, I don't ride the gate.

Goddamn,

That is so awesome. From Amazon I ordered two 360 SEs and two PS3 SAs (despite having an examplar of each). This is real nice and I hope this means the two other new sticks will show up in the next six months....pretty much guaranteed, me thinks! Nice to see Hori attempt to cash in on the NA market. So cheap and inexpensive, these sticks are just so easy to just drop a little cash for. I'm also a Prime user, so all the better. Free shipping, no tax, FTW.

Now, I definitely want some Mad Catz news! Bring it MM!

These things are great. Can't beat the low price, and free shipping from Amazon. Even if they deliver a week or two late it will be lots of fun. We are getting them for <just about> what our japanese counterparts are getting them for. Please buy: I'd like to see the HRAP3 SE and HRAP-EX-SA arrive inexpensively over here!

They don't make circular gates for Sanwa JLFs, just JLWs. The part name is Sanwa GT-0. Make sure you replace the JLF with a JLW though, because it's incompatible otherwise.

I love the EX-SE so much that I'm sending one to my twin brother in San Francisco. I gave him a TE earlier this year, but this will make his collection complete.

Oh well, Gotta try my moves on the couple of Fighting Stick 3 that I ordered 3 weeks ago!! Fucking Canada and it's lack of sticks! Atleast it is going to be FINALLY shipped in the morning and I'll get it on the 8th or 9th! :D

Sweetness indeed! I'm keeping a set for myself (player 1 and 2) and the third... I'll figure something out!

But yeah, my collection is almost complete... almost the end of the road for me! HRAP wise that is!

Yeah, I really hope Hori comes up with a new case design after 5 years of HRAP. That T6 stick looked promising, but it's probably soldered/full Hori :(

It's a Microsoft standard. Madcatz got off somehow.

The original Japanese HRAP EXes has a different layout too, but by the second printing they conformed to the others.

I just realized, October release means they'll be ready for the Tekken 6 hype train.
Good decision after undershipping around SFIV's release.

The HRAPs for me were the culmination of years of pent-up hardware lust that couldn't be fulfilled (due to geography or finances) when I first started on this joystick ride to ruin. And when my collection is finally complete, I might just call it quits and consider this era closed.

At least, that's the plan...

Eww. Can't really see myself playing fighting games (well besides SNK ones) with that kind of setup and changing it requires opening the stick which in turn voids warranty(?). So I guess TE for me...
