Can you describe the sound? If it's clicking, that's normal amongst Japanese sticks.

No, clicks are there on all directions but for buttom it has some kind of a sqeent sound, don`t know how to explain :D it is brand new, recieved it yesterday....

My HRAP3 also gets some slightly "harder" sound every once in a while in the down directions. It feels like a slightly greater resistance. It's gotten less frequent after the first week, so I'm hoping it's just some initial stiffness that needs to be loosened up.

I'll be opening it up soon to do some basic modding, so I'll take a look then. Could be a screw loose somewhere?

Ok, folks here is my issue: The general membership at Otakon seems to love nothing but Japanese style joysticks. I already have 4 wood joysticks with Happ parts, but I would like to replace the "bat" sticks with the Japanese "gumball." Of course the mounting bolts for the Happ style are already on the stick. Are there any Sanwa or Seimitsu sticks that have universal mounting plates? Or is there a place where I can buy a ball top shaft that fits in a Happ stick?

Planning on modding my HRAP3 but was wondering if someone who's had experience with Arthong (i think?)'s acrylic plate/cover for the artwork and the artwork printout service he does could comment on the quality and what not? Does the plate itself cause a lot of glare/reflection or does the artwork show through pretty clearly?

reflections depend on your lighting, no reason not to get it.
he laser cuts them now so it should be a perfect fit, he's sold a lot of them. right now he's still doing his artwork prints at kinkos on 90lb cardstock.

They're excellent. About the only complaint I have is that for art printing, he offers the option of cutting them for Seimitsu clear buttons, but the circle is still a bit too big to easily fit in the buttons. Besides that though, it's fantastic. I mean, it's acrylic, so of course there's going to be reflections, but it's more prominent in pictures due to flash or lighting angles -it doesn't detract from the art at all when viewed in real life.

art is also a very nice guy, give him your money already!
i think he made those cuts large on purpose so there's little risk of the art spinning around inside the button. he said he's willing to change it if enough people want him to when he has time i thnk.

How long did you have to wait?

I bought a fight stick in Hong Kong for about $30.. The brand is ... I dunno...

It works great now, but I wonder how long it will last? :lol

Update: The brand is IKAN

It looks like this (I wish I could mod it :()

thx its a normal print which is laminated on the front and self-adhesive on the back. I paid arround 2 euros for the print/laminated thing and it works perfect :)

I was going to wait for the Tekken 6 wireless one but I have a feeling I won't be happy with it and its hard to pass up this for $125

Just read this on eventhubs. Can't believe fellow gaffot Ryu1999 has been beating my ass on the PS3 with a keyboard grafted onto a joystick box

Alright. Hopefully I can find a printshop in the Netherlands that's able to create a laminated print with a self-adhesive back. Did you get the print laminated after or before cutting out the holes?
I should have around two weeks before my sanwa parts arrive to come up with some satisfying custom art for my stick.

Oddly enough I got an email from the site from which I ordered my SE stick saying that my order is in the mail and should arrive within 1 or 2 days. Which is great except I already received my stick on Saturday. I'm not crossing my fingers but it would be pretty hilarious if a second stick showed up tomorrow. :lol

I think every printshop should do this :) Ive cutet the holes etc. after they laminated it. What i did whas : unscrew the complete thing and take of the front metal plate. Than aply the art > than cut the holes etc.

The only real important thing is to use a SHARP hoby knife and when printing the template dissaple the buttons, dustwasher etc. layers in photoshop so they DONT print them too.

keyboardstick guy whooped on a casual acquaintance of mine (nothingxs) in who was 4-0 in the HDR pool prior to that.
Ryu1999 did you notice any lag on the screen?

uh question you know on the madcatz se the normal stick there is this little tap (see picture)

on my new sanwa stick theres isnt so it doesnt snap in place .. i thought it would be ok unfortuantly after some playing it always gets loose and backwards doesnt work anymore.. so my question is > what kind of glue did they use to glue it together? I dont want to damage any part in any way AND i want some kind of glue that i can peel back off when i want to swap the stick again for some reason.!?

I finally got around to doing the Agetec mod. I put Seimitsu buttons in with some type of Sanwa stick (JLF or something like that). Since this is my Mars Matrix stick and I did not know how to put in a Seimitsu stick I added an octagonal gate to the Sanwa. Mod was pretty basic but it involved quite a bit of case modification inside. It also had some strange daisy-chaining of the buttons with a singel wire connecting all eight but I eventually figured it out.

Planning to upgrade my HRAP3 when I get it. There's 8 Sanwa buttons I'll be getting from LL, a Sanwa balltop also from LL, and Arthong's HRAP3 acrylic cover (Is this good?). Am I missing anything else to buy? Can anyone recommend good HRAP3 artwork to use? I've searched SRK and couldn't find anything awesome.

Just use a white glue or something silicon based and just smother it. Both those will be easy to get off and will keep them firmly attached since the joint sees no movement. Stay away from any epoxy-based solution or CA glue (cyanocrylate, like for model airplanes or the off-the-shelf Crazy Glue).

Wow I really like that one. Looks good, nice colors.

Does anyone know the average shipping time from Lizard Lick?

I ordered some parts for my SE stick about 2 weeks ago, I'm from the Prairies in Canada, and I never got a response from them or shipping information.

They did charge me however, and I am sure they are good guys.

Generally it's about 2-3 weeks from the order date. They're really swamped right now, but they're chugging along with the orders.

Check status here: http://www.lizardlick.com/order_update.shtml

Right now they're on 6/28 orders so you've still got a little bit of waiting if you ordered two weeks ago.

I received my June 24th order today.

For anyone who doesn't want to wait a month for their parts from Lizard Lick, I can recommend www.arcadespareparts.com. I decided I wanted to mod my stick last Wednesday, placed an order with them for 8 buttons and a JLF stick that evening, and my parts arrived on Friday morning! It only cost a few bucks more than Lizard Lick. The only downside is that they don't stock octagonal gates. If you want one of those, you'll have to look elsewhere

These guys also sell parts: www.videogamesnewyork.com. They don't have an official online store, but I think you can e-mail them to make a purchase. I've also seen them selling some parts on ebay.

I don't know how management is at the new store since they moved out of St.Marks, but those guys were pure assholes. I only went to their store(and many New York gamers as well)as a last resort, if shops like J&L in Chinatown, Game Express in 34th, Flea Market in 181st Wash Heights or Fordham games in the Bronx..,etc. Didn't have what we were looking for. They use to hire a bunch of Cooper Union hipsters that didn't know were half the inventory was at or what game you call for when you came to pick it up. And then tell you they don't have it. But they dare ask for a deposit to get you the game the next day, lol. They may had change their ways since the new store open in 07, but I doubt it.

Going to attempt to mod my EX2 as a summer project. It's my only stick but I got it for cheap so if all goes wrong, I can always just go preorder the EX-SE from Arcade Shock. :D

I'm planning on modding it with Seimitsu clear PS-14-KN buttons and for the stick I'm just going to add a GT-Y octagonal restrictor plate, replace the Hori microswitches with HAPP Cherry ones, and change the balltop to a clear one.

I'm also planning on modding it so I can use it on a PS3 too (if that's possible). I looked it up on some forums and some places say it's not possible, while others say just swap out the PCB with a Cthulhu. Is it possible to get an EX2 working with a PS3? If so, what would I need to do it? Any help would be super appreciated.
