forgot to answer on the last page, but yes the SE uses a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper for art, with whatever is printed at 300DPI.

Got my new seimetsu buttons. Any quick tutorial on how to remove the top of the arcade stick? I'm assuming I need an allen key?

Sorry -- this is for a round 2 TE fight stick. Got a 3rd TE stick cuz of the Kayane sale.

So what's the verdict on the Tekken 6 stick? Me and my buddy are picking up the bundle for $60 on Amazon, and I just wanted some impressions on it.

The wireless stick? Its wireless, small and light, so easy to take to my buddies house.

Unfortunately, the stick is bad, and the buttons are horrible garbage. Also, impossible to mod.

But, way better than using a pad.

Quality stick (Modded SE Madcatz/TvC Stock Madcatz/TE Madcatz/Hori) > Pad > Tekken Wireless Stick.

Truth.

I just picked up a SF4 SE Stick the other day for MvC3. I was wondering, how involved/expensive is it to replace the buttons and stick with high quality replacements?

around $40-$50

($20 for the buttons + $20 for the stick + shipping)

Okay, okay, okay..

It's clicked. I can use an arcade stick now. I was trying to hard to do the movement, rather than just riding the gate for OCF motions. Got Viper's seismic SJ burning kick down to a tee right about now.

Feels good to get it just in time for Marvel..

(Still getting some new parts though)

This might be a long shot but does anyone know any retailers in Canada selling Xbox 360 TE sticks or is anyone here that's Canadian selling theirs by any chance?

Hey, MarkMan or anyone else:

Does MadCatz sell the headset adapters for the TE sticks separately by chance? I lost the adapter to my old stick and I just bought a new one last night from Gamestop and I don't think it came with one (grrr..).

Google gives nothing...

why dont you just buy a new headset instead of a new adapter? (even 2.5mm cell phone headsets work)

Umm, on 360? Does the headset jack even secure itself without the adapter? Surely an adapter by itself would be a cheaper and more efficient option than buying a brand new headset.

Unless I simply don't understand you...

Does anybody have any good retailers to purchase a Sanwa stick from (in USA)? Specifically the JLF-TP-8YT-SK. The only site I've really seen mentioned is lizardlick, and they are sold out.

I can vouch for Focusattack.com. Ordered an LS-32-01 and a JLF from them, along with a few button hole plugs last week. Shipping isn't as fast as LizardLick but it's prompt enough. My LS-32-01's connector had a few bent pins but they were easily bent back... I assume that was probably just a fluke. Everything worked properly and was well-packed.

The T6 wireless stick bundle has been $60 or less on Amazon for some time now, on both the 360 and PS3 platforms... long enough that it can be considered the "going rate." For anyone wondering, the stick included in the bundle is more or less the same as the Hori Wireless Fighting Stick 3, which is itself more or less a wireless version of the Fighting Stick 3/Fighting Stick EX2. Basically this means:

- Hori stick and parts...NOT arcade-grade parts.
- Stick and buttons are soldered, so you can't swap parts without a soldering iron and the appropriate skills.

But the wireless stick adds the additional difficulty of having virtually no room inside...the thing is tiny. So not only is it really difficult to mod or fix, it becomes impossible to use certain parts without modification (or at all). I would love to have an LS-32 in there, but from what I've read, it's simply not possible.

Example: modding one of these with a (modified) Sanwa JLF:
http://shoryuken.com/f177/hori-tekken-6-wireless-jlf-install-mod-guide-pics-215323/

If you're reading this and thinking "I don't care about arcade-grade parts or modifying it, I just want a cheap wireless joystick," then go ahead and pull the trigger. It is good for what it is. I have the 360 version, and I can throw it in whatever weekend bag I already packed and take it anywhere. It's one of the most portable joysticks ever. It is not a great joystick (or arguably even a good one) but it's better than no joystick IMHO (some will disagree with this). If you use the thing with any regularity, the button(s) will eventually wear out or break, because that's what Hori buttons eventually do. If that's what you expect then you won't be disappointed.

Of course, don't overlook the fact that one of the best versions of Tekken ever released is also included =) If you completely ignore the Scenario Campaign mode it's even better. I have never even selected it from the menu, lol.

Looking into making my JLF stiffer without having to buy an LS-32-01.

Anyone know where I can get Seimitsu springs from in the US?

LL is sold out of LS32/55 springs. All they have are LS33/56 versions, but from what I understand, the LS33 spring is just as loose as the JLF and the LS56 won't fit on a JLF. Akhiabara Shop doesn't seem to have springs listed nor does Focus Attack.

Hello gents, looking to dual mod my 360 Round 2 TE stick, so usual questions:

- What do I need?
- Where can I get it from?
- Is it something I can mod myself (no experience with complicated mods, just button swaps), so are there any online resources with pics that take you through it step-by-step?

- Alternatively, are there any people here or on SRK who will do the job for me? And what kind of prices am I looking at (also considering shipping costs since I'm not in the States)?
Basically, with this I'm wondering if it would actually just make more sense to buy a PS3 stick if the cost of getting it dual modded is pretty much the same!

you can get a dualstrike and teasy mod. The actual process of installing them is incredibly easy. I messed up on my initial install and was lucky enough to get a replacement teasy mod. Everything is great now.

You will need a 2nd PCB that supports PS3... there are a couple different ones expressly made for dual modding. The seller depends on which board you decide on.

Here's the aformentioned TEasy, a completely solderless option for dual modding:

http://www.phreakmods.com/products/teasy-strike

The most commonly used board for dual mods would be Cthulhu's ChImp, however it's a more involved installation that requires some soldering:

If you're interested in getting someone else to do it, SRK has a topic for finding a modder in your area: http://shoryuken.com/f177/need-modder-your-area-check-post-247741/

Thanks guys. Seems like the TEasy / Dualstrike mod is the best way to go (want to avoid soldering). I'm watching the video tutorial by Purplearms now - does indeed seem fairly straightforward; looks like I will need to make a trip to the hardware store too.

Edit: Actually reading about the latest TEasy Strike board it seems that it's no longer necessary to strip the wires - cool.

To Happy Phantom - you mentioned having some trouble the first time trying... just so I can avoid similar troubles, what went wrong exactly?

I point this out in particular because MvC2 was definitely a game that encouraged me to be harder on my buttons than usual, and I suspect MvC3 will be similar. I can't be the only one. The (Hori) MP button on my DOA4/EX2 stick died while playing MvC2.

tl;dr: No, no it wouldn't. I'd recommend something more durable.

Basically this is what happened:
I was able to get everything set up fine. The part I was originally most worried about was cutting the USB cable. That actually turned out to be extremely easy.

My problem was with seating the 360 PCB on the teasy mod. I accidentally snapped one of the clips that holds the teasy mod in place. Instead of being smart and just waiting on new clips to arrive, I tried placing it without them just to test. I ended up frying the teasy mod. It was an incredibly dumb move on my end.

I contacted someone local who had extra teasy mods and he just swapped one for me and everything went easy.

One thing I also want to tell you. The 360 PCB is EXTREMELY resilient. I was terrified that I had messed up the actual PCB in the process. That was not the case at all. Don't worry about messing up. Anything you have a chance of damaging at all, is pretty cheap and available to replace. Besides, as long as you're not stupid like me and have your thumb holding a PCB in place just to test it, you'll be fine :P

Just a heads up, I'm selling the last of my arcade sticks in the buy/sell thread. They're being sold at dirt cheap prices ($40-$60).

All of them are in great condition. If you're in the market for an arcade stick, it's a cheap alternative to paying $100 to $150.

There were only 1500 of the Blaz sticks made per console. I imagine if you order, it will process for a month or two and then they'll just cancel it because no more exist.
Good thing I got mine a week ago. :3

I never did post my TE so here it is.

It still needs some work though since one of the top screws needs to be secured with the nut that holds it in the bottom. I'm still having a tough time opening the bottom plate since 1 stripped screw is preventing me from opening it. I'll get to it eventually since I also need to put my aluminum feet on the bottom.

Does anyone own the Hori RAP VX SA for the 360? It looks like this:

41Uk3Syzl5L.jpg

I just picked one up for MvC3 but noticed that there doesn't seem to be any slot that I can plug the standard 360 headset. There appears to be a jack for the headset at the bottom but it doesn't have the groove required to stick in the default wired headset. If that's the case, will activating a second 360 controller just to stick in the headset for use even work?

Thanks for the heads up man. :)

ElyrionX, check the box to make sure there wasn't a headset adapter inside.

If there isn't one, consider picking up a newer Xbox 360 headset. In 2008, MS redesigned the official headset; the new version doesn't use a big plastic piece for the plug, it's just the plug itself. I happened to get a newer headset like this, and it works well with all joysticks. Check out a picture of the plug here:

Headsets are not terribly expensive so that will probably be the solution involving the least headache/expense.

Congrats on your new VX. I love the look =)

Thanks!

Yeah, I checked the box and no headset adaptor and it was mentioned on the back of the box that it's not compatible with the old headset.

I didn't realize that MS redesigned the headset. Thanks for the heads-up. Maybe I'll pick up a new one since my old one keeps crapping out anyway.

just use the adapter mentioned here:

reportedly works well.
cheap too.

I have an opportunity to pick up a DC Agetec stick in really nice shape for a pretty decent deal. I don't have a DC or play anything on DC though. Would it be worth buying to mod it? Could I use the PS360 board with it possibly?

to expand, the stick is basically flawless and the price would be $20-$30 USD. I have a friend with MvC2 and other fighting games but I doubt I would go back and learn any of those fighting games.

I have the Hori RAP VX SA. I think it's a great stick. The light weight might bother some people, but I love it. The only thing that sucks about it is the door for the cable compartment. I'm good about keeping it on, but my friends can't use it without taking it off.
