What does a large print like that run at kinkos? Is it done on something other than paper?

It cost me about $15 if i remember correctly. i chose black and white because i was trying to be cheap and color was going to be like $70-80 for the 2 foot by 4 foot size i needed. Im pretty sure its only paper but it holds up underneath the plastic. They probably have a glossy, higher quality/strength paper for color prints though.

I just placed a pre-order for the upcoming HRAP3: SA for the PS3, man, the shipping from Japan is a killer. Nearly 80 bucks, though I am ordering a bunch of buttons too, but still. I love the white on black look of the thing with the silver plate on top. Enough to pay nearly double the going price for a normal HRAP3, apparently.

I ordered these Sanwa buttons pictured below recently to replace the Hori buttons in my HRAP3. It's the white Amazon-exclusive stick, and I dig the way it looks and wanted to keep with the white color theme. EMS shipping from Japan to California...it should arrive Monday or Tuesday, no? I'm really antsy and impatient about getting packages in the mail. I LOVE getting deliveries. It makes my week.

Looking to mod my hori pad for 360 and make another one with a good stick.

I'm looking at sanwa parts and have no idea what the difference in the sticks. Could someone suggest a good stick and gate style. I can't say I'm picky and I'll use just about any gate shape.

I hope the art is easily removed on those SFIV sticks. That's the only think I don't like about them. I prefer a more non-descript finish on my sticks.

All the info you need is in this very thread. Take the time to read through it.

Put my pre-order down for a PS3 SFIV Premium Arcade stick this morning. I was kinda shocked at the minimum deposit of $50, but considering I had just spent a shit ton earlier @ Fry's I just payed the whole thing off.

Can't wait. ^^

I'm modding my Hori EX2 today with Seimitsu buttons and a Sanwa gate. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Here's an in-progress picture-

From the perspective of a PC gamer, I'm looking at getting both a fightpad and a tournament stick. The fightpad looks like an absolutely wonderful dpad for 2d games, but is it just a 360 POV hat because a lot of PC games don't recognize that and only work with the analog stick. Likewise with the premium stick. I'm sure they will work wonderfully with SF4 pc, but some games like Melty Blood, etc do not.

I've seen a few PS3 compatible arcade sticks that advertise PC compatibility, but normally the sixaxis and DS3 pcb is incompatible without special drivers, and completely incompatible with 64bit vista due to driver signing. Would these Madcatz sticks be any different?

I haven't had an issue with my HRAP3 on Vista64. It's been plug and play butter every single time. The MadCatz sticks should be the same.

Markman,

You need to convince Madcatz to release the 360 controllers earlier. I tried playing Super Turbo for the first time today on the 360. I hated the controller and the buttons. It was making all the motions and timing off.

You could have just pre-ordered at Amazon for $0 and not have to deal with it.

Hai guys, I think I am going to buy the HORI Real Arcade pro 3 for the 360 (for SFIIHD-R, Dead or Alive & Tekken 6)

Good choice? As I don't have that much money!

There is no HRAP3 for 360, you mean Hori Real Arcade PRO EX?

I think it is a good stick, but the only issue I have with it is the button layout and innards.

The RAP EX for the 360 is not the same as the HRAP3 for PS3?

The HRAP3 that's being released next month for the PS3, is it the same as the previous iterations?

HRAP EX and HRAP3 are not the same, but are equivalent in parts (same Sanwa stick, same Hori buttons).

All I really care about is the ease of replacing the buttons. I want to replace the hori buttons with sanwa.

I'll probably swap out the generic buttons on my Fighting Stick 3 for the hori buttons on the HRAP3, unless they're the same? It's going to be a pita to modify the FS3...but since I already own it, I mine as well try.

HRAP3 and Fighting Stick 3 have the same shitty Hori buttons.
If you want to swap them for Sanwa buttons, HRAP is the easiest option since it uses quick disconnects.

That's pretty effin lame. I guess I'll have to order two set of buttons....and two covers. I don't like the 8 button layout and prefer the 6 button. Does any fighting game actually even use all 8 buttons?

Is it worth swapping out the joystick on the FS3? How does the octagon gate feel vs the square? I mine as well go all out...it's not that much more.

It's no biggie. That's $50 less I have to pay when I get it.

I am interested in one of those Exar sticks when TvC comes out in two weeks. Twas thinking about modding my Wii Hori Fighting stick, but I want more details about the Exar one.

Man, you guys are going to love the MadKatz sticks. I got to play on them pretty extensively last night. The tournament edition is so fresh!

Your endorsement means a lot. I was already sold on them but this makes me even more confident.

I cant comment on the 70 dollar one because it was a prototype (no art, some stuff was missing from the casing I think?) and not too sure if the Tournament Edition I was playing on prototype or not(the TE had art and stuff, looked complete but who knows) but the TE really felt great and everyone else I was playing there agreed.

If I get my hands on the final versions of both Ill let you guys know. There are some other aspects of both sticks that are really dope as well but not sure if I can go into detail on that. Ill say that a lot of thought was put into the layout of the sticks.

What parts are they using and how is the button layout? I don't really like the Hori set up...I prefer the old school;

ooo
ooo

lay out.

You're in luck. Look at the far right 6 buttons on the Vewlix layout on the SF4 sticks.

The SF4 sticks suck !
Which is it...are the madcatz SF4 stick good or not? What type of components do they use internally? Hori? Happ? Sanwa? Seimitsu? The SF4 TE stick is really sweet....but $150 for a joystick is too much. The HRAP3 is $99 + cost of Sanwa buttons.

Even though you put Sanwas in an HRAP3, I feel the SF4 TE is better.

Just my two cents ;)

EX2 update: I got the artwork on but I may have killed the contact points for the buttons. The soldering process went real bad :( The PCB seems fine since the 360 still recognizes the stick and the top buttons (Guide, start, ect), but I'm not sure about the main buttons ... guess I'll find out in the end!

I just posted on the buy, sell, trade thread, but I think more people here will read my inquiry. Anyone selling an arcade stick for the Xbox 360? I am actually looking for a pair of non-pro sticks that I can buy without extravagant prices. PM me if you have anything to offer, or if you have any leads please. Thanks!

So I'm torn. Should I get a HRAP for the 360and put Sanwa buttons in it or instead get one of the MadCatz Tourney sticks? Has anyone here spent some time with the MadCatz one? What makes it so great?

HRAPEX has a strange button layout. RT and LT are closest to the stick instead of the normal ABXY face buttons. If you swap them for Sanwas you can rewire them to your liking though. The SF4 TE look to be the best North American retail sticks out of the box, which is why everyone is so excited.

but that costs more than $150 O_o...

unless you're not buying a sanwa stick/lever... which is kinda o_O
