Who modded it for you? Might want to ask them to troubleshoot/take a look at it.

Gummo, from SRK. If I knew he was going to ECT this year like he did last year I'd totally ask him about it, but looking at his site it looks like he's planning to make UFGT his last stop this season. Not sure if any other modders are going to ECT this year.

I'm willing to try to install the ChimpSMD on the new stick myself, but the big question is how difficult it would be to take it out of the old one.

Assuming it was done right to begin with, uninstalling a chimpSMD is just a matter of unscrewing the terminals.

Argh, someone in the area is selling a MvC3 TE Stick for $60 and I want it bad.
I love my MvC2 stick and don't much care for the look of the MvC3 stick, but $60 is such a ridiculous price that I need to buy it.
If only I had money......

I want a Fighting Edge.

I want the blue VLX.

I want a Femme Fatale stick.

That is all.

Yeah, take them to the NAH tower with you.

I'm sure there will be a few modders there. Ben Fong should be there. Hit him up!

Yo Markman I saw this old 3rd Strike XBL video which features the Hori Fighting Stick PS and some weird looking one on the right. It seems that it's a modified Hori Real Arcade Pro, is that right? I am just curious.

No idea what it is. It kind of looks like a modified Sega Saturn HSS-136 with custom plexi.

My LS-56-01 just shipped out today. I'm planning on installing it in a HRAP 1, ver. B (the non-mirrored surface). I opened the sucker up and it has one of those screwy hori mounting brackets that seem to fit a JLF just fine, but little else. I did some research and it seems like a LS-56 will fit in there just fine. Anyone have any experience modding one of these HRAP's? I think maybe even donkey "Mr. LS-56" show himself has a similar setup. Any tips?

Got hyped for no reason. Play-Asia has the KOFXII EXAR stick for 38$. Went to checkout and the total was 82$ With stander EMS shipping :( Now I remembered why I stopped getting shit from Play-Asia six years ago....Need those sticks and that Astro City layout...

Opinions on Hori HRAP EX-SE?

I'm curious about Seimitsu controls, and this seems like a nice stick. Might buy one used.

It's a super awesome stick, I love mine. It's one of the nicest retail sticks out there in my opinion. And push comes to shove you'd easily get your money back on it if you needed to sell.

I have one and use it primarily for shmups. It is absolutely worth the price, but is getting pretty expensive to obtain now. As an alternative, you can buy a RAP-EX and plug in whatever Seimitsu colors you like.

YES! Thanks to my boys Japanese GF. I'm getting the EXARPRIZE Sanwa PS3 stick! Fuck yeah! 140$ That's the total with shipping included :) My VSHG(RIP) replacement is coming home...Going to order some candy pink buttons and balltop....Or should I get neon purple? Fuck it, I'll get both....

Installed a TE Kitty board on my MVC2 TE stick today. It was pretty easy to set up, and now I'm ready to practice on my PS3 with an actual stick and (hopefully) ready for EVO.

Couple of questions for you guys:

What is the difference between Sanwa and Seimitsu sticks/buttons? I want to change the art on my stick and wanted to have some type of theme, and it looks like Seimitsu only has the purple transparent buttons I'm looking for.

Any real differences between the two companies?

Sanwa buttons are easier to push than Seimitsu. It doesn't sound like much but the Sanwas activate at the slightest breath over them and Seimitsus take a bit more to push and are a bit "clickier".

Sanwas are really sensitive, whereas Seimitsus aren't. If you like to rest your fingers on the button as you play, Seimitsus might be a better bet because like notworksafe said Sanwas activate at the slightest tap. But on the other hand, if you use a character like Honda or Blanka, the slide method of doing hundred hands/electricity (quickly gliding your hands across the buttons) won't work on Seimitsu because Seimitsu buttons only work when pressed down, whereas Sanwas will still activate if you glide your finger across one.

It's up to preference. I've used both and I like both.

Figured if anyone would know they'd be in this thread..

I have a PS3 WWE brawl stick I want to use it to play PS2 games on my BC complatible PS3 but it dpesn't work. Is there anyway around this? Adapter etc?

Also if I was to buy a cheap PS2 console is their an adapter allowing the PS3 stick to work on PS2?

THANKS

I don't think any usb to ps2 adapter exists. You'd need to mod your stick with a multi console board or a playstation pcb.

Just a few shots of the stick we're raffling off at our regional in two weeks (same one I asked for ideas with regarding art). I wish I could keep this one. It's gorgeous!

Hasn't been wired yet (that happens Tuesday) but it'll be dual-modded when all is said and done.

Anyone with experience with eightarc or Qanba sticks? Any recommendations for other PS3/360 sticks?
I'm in the market for a universal stick and I've found a buyer for my year and a half old HRAP3, so I can drop some scratch on a nice stick.

They are good sticks. Qanba is typical plastic type construction. They've been hit and miss as far as I've noticed from people in the local scene. Definitely have improved over time though. Don't think anyone has complained about a Qanba they've acquired recently.

Not sure if Eightarc is still making their wood sticks, but those are extremely high quality. I was really impressed with them.

i've had my q4 since november of last year, no issues. if you plan on doing some cosmetic mods, getting the buttons out were a bitch compared to my te and hrap3.

i just placed an order for the Hori SCV stick for 113 shipped. the thing looks pretty sweet.

ill probably change the art on it. i guess i have to add a plexi top over the top for that huh? i dont know how much height that will add, or if it will seem weird.

seems like a great stick design judging from the pics and reviews ive seen. looking forward to checking it out. hopefully it will be here in time for VF5FS next week.

im excited, its been a while since ive bought a new stick. last one was a HRAP SE. i should post some pics of my collection one of these days.

Does anybody know what type of stick is in the TEs?

Or, better yet, (Markman, halp?), what kind of sticks MadCatz was selling at their EVO booth last year? I mean the model number specifically, like: JLF-TP-8YT-SK(Sanwa).

How easily could I mod my TvC stick (Wii) to work on a ps3? I'm using a converter right now but the more I play with it the more I notice a little lag.

Hori SC5 stick is my favorite stick. It's awesome.

Yeah, I have one and it's a very slick stick.

nice. im looking forward to getting my hands on it.

Check this out:

http://www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/

What kind of stick do you have? Art's Hobbies (the link above) also provides artwork to be printed out along with the plexi options.

anyone ever use this site? looks pretty professional.

better yet, anyone ever get a plexi top for the SC5 stick? it is placed on top of the original steel top, so im wondering how much height it adds and if it seems awkward or not.

seems like an easy way to get some artwork swapped out on this sucker. just dont know how much of a lip there would be with the thinnest plexi they have or if it would be uncomfortable.

of course i dont have photoshop and have no idea how to get some good high res art together for a stick, but that's another issue.

Is it? Man, that's weird.

I was playing T6 and could not EWGF on my custom for the life of me. On the SC5 stick, I did 20/20 either side...I was starting to think my execution was horrible.

I wonder what it could be if they're the same stick..
How old is your stick? Those joysticks do wear out over time. I usually replace mine once a year.
