NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread

How much are those going to be? And are they coming to NA? I wanted that exaprize because of the size and this is the same case.
 
Somewhat relevant. I've had ST, A2, and Vsav boards for a while now since I made a supergun about a year ago, but I just got this today. Guy completely repainted it recently, brand new sticks and buttons, and got a ridiculous deal.

I contacted Hori about that and they gave me an explanation saying it was an error on the first package. I was confused for a second.

I don't think it's possible for me to be more jealous right now. However you're gonna need some Happs in there. That's the only way to play ST!
 
Hahaha, nah man gotta have that Sanwa. I kinda wish it had original colors though. Also I've started looking into what I need to run Naomi stuff on JAMMA wiring. This does not bode well for my wallet.

Naomi is going to be suboptimal unless you have a trisync monitor in there (Astros usually don't).

Damn, really wanted one but I got too many sticks recently and wanna save some money for the new limited MC stick. Hopefully it stays in print till the fall...site does not say "limited" like Sapphire.

Now I'm gonna be checking Mad Catz store constantly for them to go on sale!

The stock "artwork" is just a sticker, and it peels off easily with minimal residue, if you don't go too fast. I went in at it from the bottom to pop out the buttons. All the buttons use quick connectors, and they aren't glued on. It's pretty easy, overall.
 
Finished this for now. Sanwa stick, Seimitsu buttons. Putting a Kstick in there would be too much trouble, so I switched out other parts from an HRAP, where the korean will eventually go. I also am taking everyone's advice about giving some slack to the cord port.

Going to go home in about 30 minutes to try it out, and then some friends are playing games tonight. I'll post some stuff up after I play on it a bit.

Can't wait to get back to Laguna in a couple weeks and see the new Edge (and my other sticks, of course).

So many freakin' retail sticks this year released. Interesting times.
 
Man, I wasn't planning on buying a fightstick at EVO but that's mighty tempting. Only 300 for each console though. There's going to be way more demand than supply.

Not bad but those four buttons would get switched to white pronto if I had one.

Don't get me wrong, love mandatory colored buttons on most sticks...but in this case the all white and two blues look much classier.

Really gonna strive hard to get one of the few put up on the MC store. Gotta get this stick. So cool.

First impressions:

The thing is really light for how big it is. I'm a big dude, so I love the larger cases we're getting. It fits comfortably in my lap.

The stick is a bit looser than I'm used to. My test for sticks is to play Tekken and do EWGFs. I couldn't at first, but after a few minutes I was getting the motion more often than not. I'm going to be playing a bit of KoF tonight to see how it holds up. I like the way it feels, though.

I don't know how I feel about the buttons. My green button felt like it was sticking a bit and overall they don't feel as nice as sanwas or seimitsus. I think I'm going to buy some black sanwas to plug in there, so Yes Boss, you don't have to worry about shipping those out to me. :) That means you'll get the colored buttons a bit sooner, StarCreator.

The touch panel was giving me issues at first, but it was because I had a light touch on them. You really have to press down firmly on them to get it to activate. I thought my start was broken, but it just requires a heavy hand.

I like the stick a lot, but I've only had about 45 minutes of playtime on it.

Edit no Jutsu: Something lame about the 360 version of the stick is that you can only use the built-in mapping on the four black buttons (non-face buttons for 360), but on ps3 version of the stick it can be any.

I wasn't planning on using this feature, so not a big deal for me. Still sucks though. :/
 
OK, I'll send the buttons to Starcreator as well. He will have tons. But, if you change your mind let me know in the next week.

One of my 360 Edges is going to be all black Sanwa buttons and something Seimitsu stick in there...just waiting for confirmation from the folks on SRK that a Seimitsu stick will mount. It will be my new Shooter stick for the next year. Gonna be class!

I held off on the new amazon-japan V3-SA (streets this week) with hopes of a stateside release. Crosses fingers. Diamond VLX, instead!
 
Are the GG Exar sticks coming out in North America? Or can you still get an Exaprize sanwa anywhere?

I really want a small PS3 stick.
 
I wish Microsoft got rid of the mandatory thing on sticks. OR at least allow sticks to do it like MadCatz did with the MVC2 stick.
