cross-posting from the pickup thread (crappy cell pic incoming). heres the fighting edge using the tron feature.

So far I really like the buttons (feel like a hybrid of sanwa and seimitsu) and stick. The wide spacing of everything is awesome, and the weight and sturdy feeling is great.
 
Hey Markman, are the deals online for Evo going to be as good as the CEO Deals or better?

I think I might be ordering a new stick, but waiting for a good deal.

I got the person who modded my stick to fix it, but I'm having the same problem where holding up + forward won't have a lot of responses. Dah well, wanted a new stick anywayz.

Is there a difference in quality with the VS stick and the PRO stick SFXTekken sticks? Except for the ability to connect the VS sticks together?

The EVO deals will be similar to CEO. Namely:

All SFXTK FightStick PROs will be $100. The Soulcalibur V SOUL Edition stick will be $100 and the SFXTK V.S. will be $140.

There is a difference between the V.S./PRO and it's all in the shell/housing. The V.S. is flat. The PRO has a slant for the wrist area. The V.S. is a lot bigger (footprint wise) and heavier than the PRO.

Any chance of any EU deals for Evo, or is it just completely out of your hands? It's a shame we never seem to get them.

I don't think you should sell the sticks, but you should sell the plates so folks can replace the artwork on their older sticks.

That would probably be safer. If I was still using my TE, I'd so buy that VF plate.

HOREE SCHITTO. I have one to and have caused some dents and stuff in it. I've been thinking about having someone mod the case for me. Who did yours and how much, I'm very interested after seeing yours.

http://www.b15sdmdesigns.com - been after one of his sticks for a long while, they are expensive but I'd seen a few in the wild previously and had to get one. Worked out to £490 shipped.

Still probably only a little more expensive than importing a VLX, plus the LED mods, dual console mod and everything.

Thanks, I'll probably order a PRO one during Evo. Hopefully they don't take to long to ship out.

Jesus, his custom arcade cabs are insane. I'd love to know how much one of those goes for, although I doubt I'll ever be able to get one.

About those SFXT stick prices. Are they online only? I've decided not to bring my stick down with me to EVO and buying a new one there. Will the prices be the same? (second option if I can't get a EVO stick) Also, is it better to use cash? I remember last year you guys at the booth didn't have a credit card machine on site.
 
Sam still needs to email me back. U.S customers would have to pay $700 for one of his sticks. I know he has a month or two backlog so any new customers aren't going to get theirs any time soon.

I first emailed him in January, when he had a two month backlog. Then again in April to place my order. He's insanely busy, not hard to see why though.

The prices will be good on site as well.

We will have a credit card machine this time :)
 
Thanks Markman. It'll be easier for you guys for sure with the CC machine. I'm awaiting news on how to get one of those limited edition sticks.
 
My Fighting Edge came in yesterday and it is a thing of beauty! Played 30 minutes of VF5FS -- the stick is great, but I am not quite sold on the buttons yet. They feel a bit squishier than the Sanwa OBSF-30s in my HRAP3.

Agreed on the buttons.

Spent a lot of time with it last night and I love the stick, but not so much the kuros. They're much better than stock hori, but not quite sanwa quality.

All of the pictures I tried to take came out shitty, but here's one my gf took of our collection:

Agreed on the kuro. I saw a lot of Japanese player feedback when it came out last month there... they were also mixed on the buttons. I love the hayabusa however.

I'm sorry, but that Bieber one... good lord... kill it with fire.

Otherwise, some cool sticks. My Fighting Edge arrived today, but haven't had time to open it yet. Hopefully it's great.

Bieber stick- Urge to knee something - rising.

I do like the shape of your girlfriend's stick though, can see that being more comfortable.

I don't agree that the lever requires more dexterity than the buttons, though it very much depends on the game being played.

Any good recommendations for out-of-the-box dual compatible 360/PS3 sticks? So far, I've found Qanba/eightarc (how are these? anything else or new on the way?).

Qanba/Eightarc are both quality sticks.
Also consider the Etokki.com Omni Arcade Stick.
 
I have a HRAP3 for ps3 and a EX2 Fighting stick for 360. I used to prefer the HRAP3 until they gave Akira the Guard break SPOD in VF5FS. I can consistently do it on the EX2 but not on the HRAP3. Is there a stick like the EX2 for PS3 that's easy to hit qcf motions?

For reference the GBOD is:
D/F P+K+G, B D/F P+K, qcf or qcb p, b f or f b p+k

It's very comfortable. Plenty of space to rest your hands. It was modeled after some of Byrdo's cases.

I got them both at EVO last year. :)

Probably going to end up buying a VS stick this year. /sigh

Damn my addiction.
