Woot. So I finally got the time to install my Seimitsu LS-56 stick into my Amazon HRAP3.

amazonhrap3se01.jpg

It was a pretty easy install without having to make any mods to the mounting at all. All I'm doing now is waiting for the octogonal gate from Akiharabarashop to come in so I can fully beast this bad boy. I just can't play SF at a high level with a square gate for some reason, although I feel just as competent with the Seimitsu stick w/o the 8-way just as much as I did my Sanwa JLF ultimate mod 8-way.

And the done deal! An Amazon HRAP3 SE! :lol

I fucking love it! Hopefully the LS-56 will pop in just as well in a TE stick since I have another one on order. :D

Great mod.
If my SFIV TE stick preorder works I'll do the same and have 2 sticks one full Seimitsu and other full Sanwa.

so whats the dillema? HRAPs take LS32's right?
I think the last HRAPs to take an LS32 were the HRAP2s. The HRAP3 mounting plate doesn't facilitate an LS-32 unless you were to drill into the plate itself. As for an LS-56, it fits perfectly like the pic I posted earlier with my Amazon HRAP3.

I don't know if the TEs take an LS-32 though. That's something hopefully Markman can answer soon.

Thanks man. I would have done the same when my other sticks get in, but I really prefer the feel of Seimitsu parts over Sanwa. Don't get me wrong as they are very awesome, but I'm really finicky about my controls.

donkey show, were you the one who bought all the white bat tops off lizardlick? >:(

jk lol :p

Nice mod. Now I really can't wait for my TE sticks. :p

re: FREEEEDOM!!1 pic, i know i know. im a curmudgeon.

but when i was growing up... it was all ball tops and square gates dammit! just seems wierd.

it aint natural! damn kids.

you can/could (sold out atm) a replacement top plate for the hrap3 that will take a ls-32 and is in the same button config as the TE stick. Look around on the trading forums of SRK when it is back up monday and pm the OP to see if he is making more/has any left.

LOL, I ain't that young. When and where was that? Back then, it was all bats and circular gates.

MADCATZ! wtf.

this warms my heart, i must say. it really looks like they got it right.

well done MarkMan.

eh, who knows, it may not have been square gates (i cant really see playing with anything but square now though), but it was never bat tops.

this was the 80's in New England arcades.

is the 360 guide button on TE by any chance able to be taken apart or is it a solid button? or rather, would it be possible to swap out the 360 symbol with something else?

did you buy that box prebuilt or make it yourself?

Holy god my converter just freaking died. Stickless till my TE preorder ships. I was going to go to this awesome tourney right here in AZ too :(

I built it myself. I love the dimensions of the Agetec Dreamcast stick.

Where are you getting your materials for the build? I just ordered sanwa buttons and a stick and now looking for the building supplies.

Edit: I also need to start looking for a pad to hack for this build. I want to stay wired and want a reasonably easy one to hack. I know there are some mad katz controllers that work well but since SRK is down till Monday if anyone here has some recommendations let me know. Thanks.

for 360 i assume?

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MCHETQ/?tag=neogaf0e-20 is what most people padhack i think

Guys I need some portable table suggestions, specifically for my joysticks.Anything affordable, sturdy and has height adjustment?

I picked up the oak and lexan up at a local Home Depot. Total was about $10. I don't have a base yet though.

dfyb answered, but yeah, most people hack a MadCatz controller that looks like this

looks nice man. building custom sticks is fun :)
Thank you! And I saw the custom on your blog. Love the Sol Stick :)

Hey MarkMan, do Seimitsu LS-32s or LS-56s fit inside the TE housing without having to mess with the stock brackets? I would assume the LS-56 would work fine considering it bolts right in to the HRAP3.

Awesome found some of them at a game stop and ill snag them tomorrow. They are also the lowest I have found with new retro sticks at $9.99.

Is wood the recommended material? I was thinking about welding a box up but I don't know how the kinkos lami-label I am going to make would work out on metal. Any ideas?

Just preordered the TE... still waiting for the buyer's remorse to set in. For the price, this thing better work on whatever consoles are released after this generation or I'm going to feel ripped off.

You can always mod in a new pcb if they don't.

How is it that Best Buy has had the preorder up for the sticks on 360 for days and they aren't being backordered but the PS3's was backordered instantly. I would thin the 360 version would be more popular.

I would also think MadCatz would want to sell more PS3 sticks and thus manufacture more...

Since they're both $150 they'd be making more of a profit on the PS3 versions.

I've never ordered from them before, and I was going to order the 360 TE stick from them but I thought "every other store is sold out with this thing, how is this place still taking orders?" I did some research on their practices and reviews and decided not to. They seem pretty shady with this whole stick situation so just be cautious with them.

yo dawg I heard you liked special moves so I put a joystick on your joystick so you can dragon punch while you fireball!

I ordered through them, and I called them to check and they confirmed that I was part of the allotment and guaranteed a stick, so it depends if they're willing to flat out lie. I've dealt with them before, when they had the $100 HRAP2 SA, and they delivered that right on time.

For those who pre-ordered the TE stick from Amazon, what is your estimated delivery date?

I ordered on January 5, my estimated delivery date (2-day) is February 25. I really hope I don't have to wait a week :(

I ordered November 26th, 2008 and my shipping date is February 25th.

LAAAME

At least I have my HRAP. My Best Buy TE better come sooner.

dude my tekken stick has this 'zomg dual layout' as well. it never gets used. i prefer the angled layout, but i prefer the straight layout's distance from the stick. if i play on my tekken stick, i use the outside layout... just like everyone else who's used my tekken stick (plus it's too much of a hassle to change control layout when you're playing casuals passing the sticks around all the time). when i built my stick, i made it exactly how i like :D

IMG_5544.jpg

edit: well i guess the tekken isn't a true straight layout, but it's close enough

Is it possible to hook the tekken stick on the ps3?
