Spiderjericho, I say stick with it, sometimes it takes awhile to get used to Japanese style if you aren't accustomed to it yet.

hm....

http://www.konamistyle.jp/sp/otome_ct/index.html

but at $400 shipped courier...not sure... :/ I suppose i can save on shipping of another game releasing on the same date but..man...$400...

has anyone here ever played Otomedius in the arcades before and is the touch panel worth having? don't even know what the input's supposed to be used for...

Hi All, this is Ed from Arcade-in-a-Box. I just wanted to let everyone know really quick that I just launched a new webstore. If you notice anything weird, please let me know.

I've added PS3 sticks. I will also be adding PS3/360 sticks in the next week or two. I just need to do some final testing. Single USB cord with a toggle to switch systems.

Sorry I don't post much here.

Hey Ed, quick question: Do your 360 sticks appear as a hat-switch (360 d-pad) when you hook them up to a PC using the 360 controller drivers, or the actual joystick? That ps3/360 stick sounds great regardless.

Nice to see you posting here Ed. Thanks for the new/good info for your upcoming products. ^_^

What PCB did you end up using for PS3 sticks?

Toodles created a special PCB just for me. :)

That's the big reason it's cheaper than the 360 sticks. Less work.

Yes it does.

The PS3 sticks don't however. I'll need to double check, but I think it moves the Hat-switch and the joystick cross-mark at the same time.

You guys are worse then "pimp my ride" crew.

Soon you'll be replacing top of the stick with little aquarium balls with tiny fishes inside.

Me wants.

Well I completed my final mod to my SCIV Hori Stick last night. I made it a full Sanwa stick. Tell you what, it's so easy that you don't even need screws to keep it in place! The most annoying part was filling down the bottom of the shaft because it is a couple of mm too long.

So when you take the old arcade stick off, you are met with four raised screw holes. These are meant for the old arcade stick to slide on to and give it extra stability. Initially I tried to sand those down, but the shaft and the stick itself were just too long, and it was taking waay too long (it was half an hour before I had taken about 2mm off each one). Luckily, the Sanwa arcade stick has the same exact mounting holes. The exception is that the Sanwa’s is octagonal and too small onto slide the raised screw hole. What I ended up doing was getting a drill bit and widening the Sanwa’s four octagonal holes to the same size as the screw hole. I then got a rubber hammer out and with a bit of effort the stick was mounted and it sure as hell wasn’t coming off. The hardest part was getting a file and shaving off the bottom of the shaft. I ended up shaving past the flathead screw notch.

It’s a massive difference going from a modded Hori stick, to a full Sanwa. The extra length in the shaft really helps with the diagonals and the throw is much shorter.

This is now my all time favorite stick. It’s smaller than the HRAP, lighter, but now with nothing compromised. :D

I'll update this post when I get home from work, with the size of the drill bits that I used.

FYI,
I added a new category called Ready To Ship. These are sticks that we will be making on the side and just putting up on the site for quick sales. These are also sticks that were returned by customers for one reason or another. Same warranty applies to all of the ready to ship items.

Look for sticks not typically made on here as well. For example, I will have a few dreamcast sticks going up, along with other sticks I attempt. You might see some Univeral PCB sticks up there at some point as well.

I went to the hardware store today and picked up a bunch of stuff to build a new stick. Now the rush is On to have it ready for Castle Crashers. This will be my first stock that won't be in a wood case. Should be fun.

:lol :lol :lol

is it really better than the HRAPEX?

I just preordered a HRAPEX from AS a couple of days ago. Expensive at £110 shipped to the UK but I can't be bothered to mod my EX2.

I posted this in the buy and sell thread. But, it might be more relevant here.

I'm selling a Hori Real Arcade 2 Pro SA. It's brand new.

$170 shipped, PM me if you are interested.

MadCatz is making the SFIV sticks/pads. I will reserve judgment ONLY because the people who are collaborating love SF and wouldn't disappoint.

Yes, the people working on it love SF and arcade sticks too <3

:lol God bless their souls.

So what happens if I want something about the size of a typical Hori stick but with the quality of Arcade-In-A-Box?

Today was a bountifull day. I received another PS3 HRAP3 Amazon Edition and two Hais PS2 to PS3 controller convertors:

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6834

So far so good. The controller I used was the Saturn PS2 controllers. I tried it with SFA PSN and it worked beautifully.

I then used it on SF Anniversary to see if it worked with PS2 games. With the PS button, yes, it does. I was also able to assign slots memory card slots. The price seems pretty good.

I'm not going to be able to provide you with minute data such as how much lag the controller produces but it did what I needed.

I remember seeing a thread not too long ago about playing PS2 games on PS3. My understanding is it introduces lag into the equation. Not to dispute it, as it is probably true.

But using Dudley in the training menu, I was able to execute Early Jumping Fierce, Standing Roundhouse, standing strong into the Rolling Thunder (in the corner). I'm not sure if you can do the combo outside of the corner nor am I Dudley player.

And I'm interested in seeing the fruits of Markman's labor.

HRAP3 Amazon.co.jp <3

Glad you guys got the sticks and are enjoying them.

I was thinking about reviewing them but I realized they're the same as the regular HRAP3 lol.

Oh yea, I'll probably try to get one of those converters to test for input lag. I'm lazy though... lol.

I'm expecting an InPin Korean PS2/PS3 converter in soon and will review that first.

Psst... I love SF, too. Let's say I was in the business of, say, making console accessories. Almost all of them sucked and were shoddily made. My bad. Despite my love for Street Fighter, if I worked on a stick for it, it would probably be complete and utter garbage too, right?

What is the best (least amount of lag) PS2/PS3 Converter that is actually available and in stock at the moment?

anyone...?

Pelican, then maybe the REAL PS2/PS3 converter. They are probably the best, but tough to find.

DaFish said:
I know I can't get the Pelican (I'm not going to ebay). I can't find the REAL in stock anywhere either :/

MarkMan's site also gave this one a favorable review.
Here

I felt really stupid when I had the chance to buy 4 of those pelican converters months back at a local used game/video place, and just passed them up...

I haven't seen them. Do they have the PS button? I think that is what I like the most about the HSAIs.

And aren't the convertors the GH and RS players use have minimal lag...considering...the nature of the music/rhythm games?

And forget about finding the Real or Pelican. They're rare...

Like Sega Saturn PS2 pads and Xbox 360 HRAP EX...
