Sorry if this has been asked before, but are there third party adapters that allow you to use the 360 sticks on PS3 like you can with the controllers? And does this create input lag? ;o

If you have never used a stick w/ a square gate then I would say yes. But I know some some friends that absolutely love playing on squares so its more of a personal preference. Me and all my friends (who either grew up on Happs or never played on stick) had lots of problems w/ the square gate but that is probably also because we've never used em before. Talking to a friend he said "You'll either always hate it, or learn to LOVE the **** out of it".

hahaha I think i'll keep whatever is stock to save some dinero for awhile. But I'm getting the hrap3 and am definitely switching out the buttons. Are threaded or snap ins better??

G35twinturbo asked me to post this, he's banned for some reason :lol

almost done he stated.

Okay, this is kinda important, so if youre around still Markman, some clarification would be awesome :)

My friend got his TE stick (PS3) yesterday, so I texted him to ask how it is, this is the exchange:

Me:Hows the stick?

Friend:Awesome, but it doesnt work in ps2 mode so I cant play 3rd strike

Me:That doesnt sound right

Friend: Doesnt seem to treat it like a regular controller, more like a peripheral

Me:Ill ask Online

So yeah, here I am online, asking. Is my friend retarded or does the TE stick really not work on ps2 games?

Sounds about right.

Anyways, dont dig through the thread, pretty much no backwards compat support. You gotta mod in a PCB in.

wow, I love the stick but thats a serious disappointment. I own a lot of PS2 fighters and now Ill be stuck with the Fighting Stick 3 to play them with unless I void the warranty and mod the thing.

Great.

If it helps, it would be better to direct your rage toward sony and their half assed backwards compatibility support. AFAIK sixaxis/DS3 is the only thing that works with old gen stuff.

So whats the thought process behind that? You guys make the best Arcade Stick on the market, charge bucketloads of money for it and you dont add backwards compatibility that a shitty ass $30 stick like the FS3 has?

I dont mean to be a troll but damn, what the hell?

Edit: bah, sorry, Im just venting, ashism is right.

It's a playstation firmware thing, nothing Madcatz can do.

I understand your frustration. Trust me I wanted this in, I'm not an idiot and I knew it NEEDED to be in there.

We are not Sony licensed therefore we can not use the Sony vidpid for controllers.

I explained this many times in this thread and others. Even the FS3, HRAP3, and VSHG didnt work with PS2 games back then, a firmware update later made them work.

Just hope and bug Sony.

I've got a question for you guys. If I want a stick for 360, which one is the best option? I noticed that there are a couple Hori sticks on Amazon like the EX and EX2, and there's also the upcoming SFIV stick from Mark's camp. I'd have to say that I like what I'm hearing about the Hori EX and the Madcatz SFIV tournament stick, but they're both a tad pricey and it looks like the Madcatz stick is out of production already. Which should I consider?

I understand and sorry for taking my frustration on you, hopefully a patch will be something to look forward to.

Thanks for the hard work, I really do appreciate it.

Man...some vitriol for Mark. Chill out...

If you bought a PS3 autumn 08 to now, you wouldn't even be concerned with BC. I'm sure it'll be fixed with a future firmware update (if Sony cares about the users with 20, 60 and 80 GB PS3 with BC).

Mark and his fellow coworkers at Madcatz did an exceptional job and should be congratulated. They've marketed toward the entry, intermediate and expert level user with their SFIV product line. Keep in mind, the product is to coincide with the release of SFIV (not Anniversary edition or Tekken Tag from fore score and 20 years ago).

And if it's that big of a deal for you, invest in an HRAP3 and get some buttons like has been said.

The TE is not out of production. There are going to be additional shipments to satisfy the current demand. Also, the standard edition (if you took a look at the links Markman provided) can be modded to be a competent stick. All you need is the JLF Sanwa, 30mm Sanwa buttons and two 24mm ones. The modification is pretty simple.

The VSHG does now. It didn't for a while, but a firmware update cleared it right up. Whether the newer sticks will work with BC or not is a firmware issue. Bug Sony.

New PS3's dont have any PS2 BC
No BC at all?? Not even software?

Man I wish Sony would sort out this BC issue. I keep hoping for a PSThree with, at the very least, a reasonable level of software BC.

I really hope other companies take note of the level of communication you Madcatz folk have had with the community, because I think it's been critical to the reception these products are receiving. If someone had told me two months ago that I'd lay down 150 bones for a Madcatz product, I'd have blown a gasket.

Compiled collection of ShinJN's modding/review vids for the TE stick.

rather disappointed that you can't use a screw in sanwa on the bottom left most hole. I guess Ill just plug the left most buttons then. more akin to the "american" layout anyway since I'm switching to bat top too.

edit: just realized I can't plug those either- the yenox plugs are screw ins! sigh, guess Ill have to order the snap ins.

Ok I got a little carried away with the mockup thing lol, but heres the pics. Im gonna upload 2 PSDs one thats simple with only the art and one that has the different color buttons. Only photoshop you really need is how layers work since its just hiding stuff in folders.

I used Raging spaniards El fuerte art, Modus art (guy with the rocketpack) and the wallpapers in the OP.

EDIT: whoops meant to post this in the SF4 thread but Its not Off topic here. Its a mockup file to get an idea what your ideas might look like from using markmans template. Hope it helps. If you have any questions just let me know.

the temple one looks really, really awesome. They all look great, but that temple one Im gonna have to print out lol. Good stuff

What's the whole process of getting artwork for my hrap3?? I hear you have to go to kinkos or something....WHat's the whole step process???

After seeing all this artwork, I feel like buying the TE Stick now and modding it myself. I own the Hori Stick as well, but the TE stick has a good vibe to it for easy modding, compared to the Hori.

This is from the other thread again

Heres another mockup with most of the original (still missing some water at the bottom and tree stuff at the top, but the dimensions wont show it, bleh

Very random question, but hoping someone can help out... how much does a HRAP EX (360) weigh?

I have a friend in Japan that is willing to bring back a couple of the Death Smiles HRAP's when he comes to visit in the Spring, but he doesn't want to bring two if they weigh like 20lbs each. lol.

Thanks in advance, gaf!

Still waiting for word from Capcom about my TE stick ;_;

Hori lists the HRAP EX SE at about 2.6kg, which is about 5.7lb. Add in packaging and it's probably somewhere between 6 and 7. Presumably the non-SE HRAP EX weighs about the same.

Can someone PS a mockup for me?

BlazBlue

Same color stick/buttons as normal TE.

Blue bezel.

black side moldings (instead of white).

Trying to make it look like a Vewlix F.

BlazBlue art here:

in that case tell him they weigh 19.9 pounds. or just mess his head up and tell him the real weight in kilograms.

EDIT: No need for all that, they weigh 18 lbs according to NCSX so you're good to go :D
