Man...I'm at work and I just keep thinking of playing with my new TE stick!

Damn you arcade stick and fighters! I've never known you until now...why must you disrupt my life!

So anyways...what's the difference in betweem Seimitsu and Sanwa buttons? Are ones better than the other? Or do they just have a different feel?

Also, my friend was wondering...the stick itself (as in the 8 directional stick), does it have the electrical components in it? As in, is it the one that has the gates that control how the stick functions, or is that component tied right onto the board? What about the buttons?

Usually in the case of regular controllers, all of the electrical components are tied into the board, and the buttons just act as a depressor to close the signal or something like that. I figured it might be different for arcade sticks.

Sanwa and Seimitsu buttons are both great. Just a different feel. The gate is actually a plastic restrictor plate. The one that comes with it is a square restrictor and you can buy a circle or octagonal restrictor. It simply snaps on the bottom of the joystick.

I just bought a SF IV Tournament Edition stick on newegg this week for Xbox 360 that I've only used once, but now I am in a situation where I plan to sell it because of an unfortunate incident with my Xbox 360. After deciding to send my xbox 360 off to greener pastures, I went out and randomly bought a Playstation 3 and Blazblue last night. Is the Playstation 3 d-pad good enough to hold me off until the Real Arcade Pro 3-Sa comes out, or should I just hurry and sell my TE stick and buy one for Playstation 3?

^^I would suggest you get your existing 360 TE dual-modded for PS3 compatibility. It would be cheaper than getting an HRAP3SA and you'll save space in your house by not owning multiple sticks.

I was thinking of doing that before. What is the best way to go around it? Soldering doesn't bother me because I can call my father and get him to do that. He retired from electronics in the air force and that was his specialty.

Bah! I am starting to think it is cheaper for me to just sell my SF IV TE stick for $125.00 on ebay instead of buying parts and dual modding it.

Good God! I love my FS3! Yes, the buttons feel weird and you have to get used to it but it's a GREAT started stick (and the cheapest BOX if I ever feel like modding it :D).

I have yet to unpack my second FS3. Once my brother comes back from camping, I'll rip that shit open!

So Capcom teased their stick announcement again (the one they're announcing at EVO)

Capcom tease

Does everyone pretty much assume it's a MvC2-themed TE stick? I want to get a stick for the 360, and this announcement is holding me back, as I'd love to get a MvC2 themed stick if that indeed is what it is.

I know it's just speculation at this point, but hey, that's fun.

Dropping this one off before I leave for a tourney in Davis today. Here's my PS3 TE stick that I swapped the art on last night. Just in time for EVO!

It's a little rough around the edges (literally) but nothing I can't fix during the week.

Great looking mod, Mr Jared!

MarkMan or anyone else with knowledge I have a little issue I need help with. The connector on the wire that plugs into my LS-32-01 is really loose and worked its way almost completely off this week while I was playing BlazBlue. I had to take the bottom off of my stick yesterday and push the connector back on to the prongs which of course fixed the problem, for now. The problem is I need some way to make that connector stay on the prongs while stilll keeping the quick disconnect functionality. (in case I ever need to change the joystick out, of course)

I put a little piece of electrical tape across the connector but that hardly helped as the tape doesnt seem to want to stick very well on the surface of the connector. So, anyone have a better idea for this?

Thanks!

Just dual modded my MadCatz TE stick.

I had no problems with the soldering, but somehow I broke one of the buttons while removing the quick disconnects. :O

Is there a guide to popping out the buttons anywhere?

i liked that the TE stick's cord is long enough that i dont need an extension cord that i use for my HRAP3. one less thing to worry about.

Did you mod a 360 TE or a PS3 TE? I'm planning to mod the 360 and I have no problems with soldering, but I'm trying to find exact information before buying the parts.

So after owning my first arcade stick for 3 days, I ordered a second one. The Mad Catz TE for PS3. :X

Funny how a week ago I wasn't interested in Arcade sticks at all.

Now I need to sell the almost new SE, I don't think I can afford to keep it for modding.

keep it as a controller for player 2

Can someone link to the best tutorial for replacing the MadCatz SE's stock parts with all Sanwa? Preferably a site with pictures/descriptions and not videos as I can't view them where I'm at right now.

Thanks!

Although I prefer the look of your mod, I would keep my SE just the way it is. Unless I have a spare one lying around to customize.

Generally I'd agree if I was a collector or completist but I just buy them for fun. I don't even care much to keep the boxes and might be tossing them. If I can improve them and make them prettier I'm all for it.

Darn it! That's exactly what I am: a collector... and somewhat of a completist! You've figured me out :)

Can anyone advise if MadCatz has fixed that problem with the loose washer in the stick of the SE Fightstick? I wanna get a stick for Blazeblue and the other fighters later this year, but I can't afford the TE (unless there's a magical 50% off sale somewhere), and I have enough marbles not to cheap out and get the Hori EX2. Thanks in advance.

I bought one in the beginning of June and have used it daily since without any problems. Not sure if that means anything though as I could just be lucky. Also, it may depend on where you buy from depending on if they have a recent shipment or old, maybe unfixed models (If it has indeed been fixed).

I think MadCatz and Hori have finally met their match: the XCM Dominator Joystick.

I'm more interested in how it performs. Damn, I pick up BlazBlue on a whim and now I have two sticks and am intrigued in getting more and modding. What the hell, is there something in the punch? I blame this topic :lol

Well, after pre-ordering the HRAP3-SA, I just ordered 360 TE stick from Amazon. They're on sale for $135 with free shipping in the US right now.

Searched and couldnt find anything.
Thought this would be a good thread for this.

Has anyone seen the short torrent documentary "I got next"? I am just now starting it by cheapy D's recommendation and it doesnt look too bad. It looks to be mostly about street fighter.

Oh yea, it was pretty good. But I still love BANG THE MACHINE!!!!

I don't really hate it because it's so sensitive but it's weird because other buttons aren't that way. And it also registers the button when you accidentaly touch it from the side. Which happened to me in the first hour I played multiple times.

Well it's something to get used to I guess. :P

Get Seimitsu buttons. Problem solved!

And that XCM stick is disgusting. Completely tastleless IMO.

As far as I'm concerned, massive amounts of LEDs, especially of the blue variety, never go with the word "beauty" unless there's a "not" in the same sentence.

Looks tacky as hell, IMO.

I can't see it from work, but I agree on the blue LED part. I'm a PC enthusiast, and all the shitty blue LEDs drive me nuts.

Wow what a steal. Damn shame I had to pay $190 Canadian for mine.

Canada has no options when it comes to sticks. :(

edit: damnit sorry for the DP. Forgot I just posted. :lol

man, the people who paid upwards of $300 for these on ebay five months ago have got to be feeling had right about now. Patience!

I lent my T5 stick + Hais converter to a friend a while ago and recently it stopped working on his PS3. I thought it was strange because the converter still works and recognizes the stick but none of the commands work. Even stranger, the stick works completely fine on PS2 and GCN/Wii with a converter. I guess a PS3 firmware update could have broken compatibility but he told me he hasn't updated since like, Valkyria Chronicles. My VSHG and his Rockband instruments are recognized so I know his USB ports are fine.

Anyone know WTF could be wrong?
