This is going to be my first stick, but I've been checking out the shoryuken forums, and it seems quite a few people have problems with buttons that stop working or even the whole stick crapping out. Now I'd like to know what the durability of this stick is and what the chances are of this happening?

I've heard that about the SEs but not the TEs. I have a PS3 TE with no problem. Going to try and pick up one of the Comic-con TEs for 360 so I've got one per platform (I know, it's cheaper to mod but I'm lazy and from what little I've seen of the CC TE, I like the orange design).

I think the Comic Con TEs are PS3-only.

That's what I thought I had read about. It's one of the reasons I decided to go for a TE stick last week when that Amazon sale came up - I just went for the top quality. Are the PCBs really prone to crapping out? Disappointing if true. I'm thinking of dual-modding for PS3 support sometime down the road, but I know little about it. Would doing that raise the chances of damaging the PCB?

It isn't common, but it happens.
edit: lol, SRK is down

If only I could play hitman on this thing.

HRAP3 modded with 6 sanwa and 2 seimitsu buttons, using Art's (shoryuken) plexi with Hitman art underneath (and in two of the buttons)

Also my two FS3 mods. Green is PS3, full sanwa. Red is an LS-32 with sanwa buttons and is XB360

Wow, that looks friggin amazing. I know how I'm gonna be modding mine.
Is it easy to remove the bezel like that? Any tutorials out there? I've only modded my SE...my TE should be arriving soon-ish.

Bezel is really easy to remove. When you lift up the panel with the button/stick, you can just lift the bezel off. The panel is the only thing that holds it down.

You playing BlazBlue? I'm finding the stick has quite the learning curve there due to all the dashing/jumping. It's been 2 weeks now, and I'm becoming increasingly mobile. I'm still not quite as mobile as with a d-pad, but I'm getting there. I can pull off moves and combos far better with the stick though.
I'm playing Street Fighter IV, still not sure if I want to pick up Blaz yet. It's kinda expensive seeing as I can only get it from videogamesplus and I've been really spoiled by the game prices in the UK.

Anyway. I'll keep doing arcade practice matches to warm up to stick play. Some rounds everything works out, others I fuck up the execution on every move. Movement with the stick is feeling better. I still have a massive hard time hitting those shurikens, supers and ultras, especially in fights. I just can't get the feel for their execution with the stick. The execution of fireballs tends to workout 9 out of 10 times now.

I'm also still toying around with how I hold the stick itself. So far three fingers on the ball (switching to two every now and then) seems to work best for me.

Do any of you have any pointers on how to perform the execution of of shurikens, supers and ultras with the stick?

Beautiful jmro. Which joystick do you like better between the LS-32 and the JLF?

I only put the LS-32 in yesterday. The JLF is certainly a lot easier to get into a Fighting Stick 3 shell. I had to cut a hole in the bottom to make the shaft free to move.

So far I'd say I prefer the looseness of the JLF, but it could just be that my JLFs are more broken in. Both are great though, I would be happy to stay on either. Both are much, much better than the stock hori stick

Any alternatives on where I could go to get some Sanwa pushbuttons? I know of Lizard Lick but how long would I have to wait for their order to arrive at my doorstep? Are we talking a month at the least?

DaCocca's & LuckyMoon's posts a couple of pages back reminded me that I still have my Ascii Saturn Stick, which hasn't seen the light of day in years. In light of this and with my coincidental desire to somehow get my twin sticks working on my 360 to play VOOT properly, and (ideally) without ripping out the guts of my beloved controllers, has anyone figured out a way to craft a Saturn to Xbox360 controller converter of some sort? I tried googling, but the one thread that I came across with some sort of answer basically came up craps, and the Shoryuken forums are still offline.

If it means anything, I also found my Total Control 3 Saturn to DC converter.

I need some help from any HRAP3 experts. My Stick is fine, but at certain times, if I pull the stick all the way down when i'm playing it clips on the something and causes friction, and it highly annoying. It seems like it is the second dust washer causing this problem. The only way to fix it is to seriously punch my stick or just keep jerking it. I know I treat my stick like shit, but why is it clipping on the second dust washer?

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks.

If anyone cares.

80% of the sticks used during EVO finals were TE sticks. :)

Also, Daigo used it in the finals when he won.

^_^

It really is crazy how so many people had it. It got to the point where I was noticing when people fought without on guys not using a te. You guys created the iphone of tournament sticks lol.

Hell people who haven't owned a single arcade stick are buying them.

How's living the dream working out for ya, man? ;)

The TE stick is really something else. Hell, I just bought an SE and that's kickass too.

The LittleBigThigh stick was everywhere at EVO! It randomly got a bunch of top level play, including being loaned to Graham Wolfe for his awesome HDR finals run. Yoshinori Ono liked is so much I got his picture with it-

Definitely good luck status at this point.

So my TE arrived today and I just tried it with BlazBlue.

The stick is really nice. Even the packaging is top-notch.
You can really notice the differences between the TE and SE.

But now Im tempted to order a plexi and art from arthong. :P
I like the stock artwork though so maybe I'll keep it for a while.

Do you have plexi over the art or did you get it printed at mame marquee? Looks really good. Love the pic!

Fullpanel plexi all the way.

Does that stop the plexi from "bubbling"?
I think its sole purpose is for the different look ( removes the bezel and gives you more art space). Not sure if it stops the bubbling.

Bummer, that's the only negative thing about the plexi so far.

But but I have the TE stick but I'm still not as good as the guys at Evo, I think my stick must be broken.

Im hyped for KOFXII and i want a stick.
I could buy this stick, its good?

McBradders said:
Yes. And easy to mod to bring it in line with the TE version. I'm installing Sanwa buttons in to mine today.
Its easy to what? bring line wut? Samba who? :lol
Im not an expert on fightsticks as you see.

Sanwa are arcade parts. The SE stick is great, but some people prefer arcade parts, just saying that if you want that its pretty easy and straightforward to do.

Just bought a Sanwa-mod SE myself. Got both the installed set of of white buttons/new stick with white ball-top AND as an extra I got a set of black parts too :) Now I just have to figure out how to mod it with some new art without breaking it :3
