Posted this in the sf4 thread, thought it would be appropriate here too.

Which one do you guys think I should go with? I like em both.

It must have been mis-communication on my part. That was just a prototype.

Well, I really think Capcom screwed up cuz looking at Madcatz website the description doesn't mention the new dust washer but Capcom came out of the gate advertising it as a new feature. Oh well.

Yeah, Find, how'd you design the image. I want a Spiderjericho one with maybe Spiderman...

or Daigo's head photoshopped on top of Professor Xavier's doing the psychic thing.

Hotness. I'd say do that with the first design, but I prefer a simpler look to most sticks.

Yeah, I like simple designs too. I actually specified something minimalist.

What program are you guys using to splice the images? What? Where? How?

I didn't actually design either of the graphics myself, two friends did. But I'm assuming what they did was grab either a blank or pre-made template from >>this thread on SRK(check OP)<< and then did some work with it on photo shop.

Yall can combine your Daigo passions and make one with Daigo, Xavier, and a lot of <3's plus some lens glare for teh drama

"what buttons and stick would I need for an HRAP 3? I am going sanwa for the buttons and stick. Thanks."

HRAP3's already have a sanwa stick. You only need OBSF-30s to replace the buttons with. You could also get two OBSF-24s if you want to do the start/select buttons as well.

the stick in HRAP3s are already Sanwa JLFs

Thanks guys. I didn't know that about the stick.

that's good to hear, I only listed places I have done business with (and back then before SFIV, LL was like 4 day turnaround :lol)
I'll check it out in the future

I can't leave Comic-Con without getting a new stick.

I saw a few custom ones being sold at the show! Gonna buy em tomorrow!

Augh. I think I missed out on coming by, MarkMan :( I've been working the show but I've been so wiped out by the whole thing that I barely have enough time/energy to make it around the show. I'll be back working at the PS booth again tomorrow but after that, I'm not sure what's up.

On a good note, I'm going to be wiring up the Egret II this coming weekend. Just confirmed it with a buddy of mine who's going to help out with the process (and teach me all there is to know about the machine since he's knows way more than I do), so now I just got to make the big NewEgg order and we're good to go.

Also, the girlfriend made the new panel art while I was away for the weekend. I'll take pics once we have it applied :)

So, my local EB has two PS3 TEs. I was kind of hoping to get an SE and swap the buttons and re-skin it... but from what I gather I wouldn't have any reason to do that with the TE other than for the aesthetic. Should I jump on the TE or try to get an SE online somewhere? I mean, having a TE would be nice too... but I don't know if I have that kind of cash right now. Maybe I'm just complaining because I want a stick and can't afford the available one.

The buttons and stick aren't the only thing the TE has going for it. It's got a nice heavy size and form factor too, but that depends on the person, some people prefer smaller sticks. I'd say let that be the deciding point for you. If you want my opinion, jump on the TE.

Well, lap play seems like it might be uncomfortable with the TE. Then again, I actually use my laptop on my lap... so I couldn't imagine it being much more uncomfortable. I know those TEs won't be around long... but with tuition and rent coming up... I hate decisions haha.

YO! I'll stop by tomorrow, I still haven't checked out the PlayStation area yet!

Let's get a general consensus - do you guys think that the Tekken 6 Hori stick (PS3) will be good enough, or should people like me waiting for that just get a SFIV TE stick instead right now?

If you can swap out the parts easily with Sanwa they will be more than perfect. Also, people worried about the wireless stick lagging should not. People on SRK checked the input lag of wireless tech that 360 and PS3 uses and to peoples suprise their was no input delay.

I want to get to the bottom of this. Why are so many pics coming out of Comic Con of people playing on the SDCC TE stick? MadCatz claims a run of only 500 sticks total and Capcom mentioned in their blog post that there are only "500 of these sticks made in the world". I think a little hyped marketing is going on here but would like to know if anybody attending CC has asked Capcom directly.

I mainly play games on the PC so the thought of owning an arcade stick hadn't crossed my mind until about two months ago when Street Fighter 4 came out. I fell in love with it, and playing with a 360 controller is a major pain. After doing some reading, I preordered a HRAP3 SA. I plan on modding it with an octagonal gate and probably a bat top depending on what feels better. Does anyone have experience with this stick on a PC? Is it good for a first timer?

Managed to score the SFIV TE stick (360) from my local GS last night. Apparently it's been on the shelf forever... nobody willing to drop $150 on the stick. Luckily, for me, I had a massive amount of GS credit, so I didn't pay a dime. :D

I still need to unbox it and try it out with something (SSFIIHDTR, SFIV, BlazBlue... not sure which) to decide whether I switch out the ball for a bat-top and the square gate for an octagonal one. I already have the parts (from lizardlick, see below), so I don't think it's going to be much of a hassle to do it. Hell, it wasn't much of a hassle to switch them out on the Hori EX2 I had previously.

As far as lizardlick goes, I'd give them a thumbs up, I suppose. I had one hell of an ordeal with them though -- for some reason, they just stuffed all my parts in a bubble mailer instead of a small box. Bubble mailer somehow got damaged, so while my octagonal gate showed up, my bat top was nowhere to be found. I jumped through about 74 hoops, providing pictures of poor shape my package arrived in and asked for a replacement bat top to be sent out... since it was taking so long for LL to follow up with the post office or whatever, I just placed a new order for a bat top and an adapter. Eventually, LL refunded the order price for the new bat top and adapter... I think it was hard for them because they're a small company and can't afford to just eat the loss most of the time. However, I'd feel fully confident ordering from there again, (and probably will if I change the buttons out... thank you quick connects!), though based on what some people have said recently in this thread, you may have better luck elsewhere if you're in a hurry for your parts.

Looks good man, what kind of buttons and stick top are you thinking of? I think green or white would look pretty good.

Ugh, I can't wait for Friday. Finally going to order my stick. :D

Just one question, what online stores can I purchase a TE Stick that ships to Canada? I'm considering the official Capcom store but where else can I get it from?

The girlfriend desired a green ball top and green buttons so her wish was my command :lol
Ordered the parts from lizardlick
I have some other designs as well that I would like to get opinions on so here goes nothing
Design: Chie In Fighting Stance
REBEL 2
ACTION!

What do ya think comrades :D
(Oh also if you are into P4 sticks I have a ton of them designed that I can post but only if you guys are interested :D )

Switched on the LL octagon gate restrictor, maybe I've been playing square gate too much now that I felt octagon gate is really loose...:lol

However, HELL YEAH BAT TOP!

That because the four cardinal directions have a larger throw on an actogonal sanwa gate compared to a square. You can correct this with some electric tape applied to the spacer bit.

I am about to order Tekken 6 and was wondering if the wireless stick will be good or not.

I'm sure it will be an OK stick for a beginner.

But for only $30 more than the bundle, you could get Tekken 6 and a HRAP3-SA (provided you are a PS3 player) which will be a a much, much better stick.

I'm trying to figure out which Sanwa JLF stick the guy in this guide used.

http://www.kowal.itcom.pl/ArcadeParts_pliki/modDCen.htm

I'm doing the same mod he did, and I love the Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK in my TE.

Is that the right stick to purchase, or do I need to do a different stick for the wiring etc? I'm planning on keeping the stick strictly for the Dreamcast, so I just wanted to change out the stick and the buttons.

I saw there were a few different variations on the Sanwa JLF, and I wasn't sure exactly what the differences are between them.

Thanks.

looks like he's using a JLW either TM8 or UM8.

the different variations of the JLF are just differences in stuff like orientation of the pcb, does it come with the mounting plate, etc. they're all the same basically. I mounted a JLF that was taken from a TE in my agetec, if you're planning to use a jlf i suggest ordering one without the mounting plate as it is a pain to take off. the screws strip really easily and i had to drill two of them out.

YukikoandFanTemplatecopy.jpg

Get some more sakura petals on the right, of various shapes and sizes; should fill up some space.

Otherwise get some colour-related items and splash them there? Haha, who knows, up to you matey.
