Got from CAG. SF TE stick is $89 today only at Fry's. So awesome~

Good call, man.

I scored one. :D

Can I (not me, but someone else) dual mod a 360 TE stick, with a MC Cthulhu board, so I can play it on a PS3 and other consoles?

Just got a 360 SFIV TE. I don't really like it. I can't get any moves off. I may as well be playing with the regular 360 D-pad. Part of it is that I have to get used to playing with a stick, but...ugh.

of course

Really, because that would make my fucking day.

Is it hard? A pain in the ass? Is there a high chance of breaking shit and messing up my stick.

I wouldn't be doing this myself. Unless, it is THAT easy.

Just stick with it and in a week you will wonder why you even compared it to the 360 D-pad.

Just played a game of KoF12, taking it real slow, listening and feeling the clicks as I do the motions. It's almost like I have to relearn how to play fighting games, but I'll take your advice and stick with it.

Main reason why I wanted a stick in the first place is all my life, charge characters like Guile and Blanka end up hurting my thumb after a while to the point that it gets fatigued and I can't play anymore. When SFIV first came out, I played so much with the SFIV Fightpad that I actually injured my thumb and could barley even play a game or drive a car without severe pain for a month. :lol

So I don't really have a choice if I want to play fighting games for long online sessions. Well that's my story.

Actually that's the whole reason. You'll laugh at your own comparison in a week or so :)

Yeah, it's like you have to get it into muscle memory or something. At first, I was jumping while trying to walk backwards. I thought I was pressing left but I guess I was pressing left/up. Now my arm "knows" what the left direction feels like so I don't make that mistake anymore. Still have a lot of practicing to do.

You may be happier if you mod the stick to use a octo-gate instead of the square -- as I understand it, traditionally square gates/ball tops are standard japanese cabinet parts while american cabinets tend to stick with octogate/bat tops.

FUCK! My 360 TE from Frys has a broken A button. Can I still return to the store or do I have to mail it off to MadCatz? I'm so disappointed because my SE works fine :(

I'd say if you're playing a charge character like guile and blanka you want the square gate. I love it

Stick with it dude. When SFIV came out we had a few local pad warriors. We gave them shit and made fun of them until they picked up sticks. Then they looked like complete scrubs for the next two or three weeks, but once they got really used to it you could see noticeable improvement in their game. And it seems as they are progressing much faster than they ever did on the pad since. Two of them are damn good now.

If you've never used a stick before it's going to take getting used to no matter if your gate is square or octagonal. I would just get used to the square gate. It is superior for everything, which is fact... even if some people who didn't give the square gate a chance say otherwise! Especially if you want to use charge characters.

Wow!

You did get one. They are getting hard to find. I'm gonna get one this week.

I finally ordered a PS3 and 360 TE stick as well as a PS3-flavored SE to complete my Mad Catz gear since I don't have any of those...and to prepare for the forthcoming MC excitement, of course.

Definitely worth the effort! But my wallet took a big hit trying to get that in from SDCC... got a really cool number though, 099 out of 250, yay!

I think that's it for my Mad Catz TE collection, not a big fan of the upcoming designs simply because that awful yellow MC logo spoils the otherwise clean aesthetics (sorry MarkMan!).

Yeah, the logo was my concern as well. Not that Mad Catz hasn't been doing a bang-up job lately, just that the logo still carries quite a bit of unsavory baggage with it from all the years. I was kinda hoping they'd go stately like Hori and use white or something embossed/negative. Who knows if that is final...perhaps the yellow logo is company mandate on generic stuff. That said, I'm still gonna pick one up if it proves non-limited. It might just grow on me...didn't initially care much for the colors on the SDCC stick either but now it looks great after a few weeks.

Oh yeah: did you get a HRAP-EX SA? I've not been able to find that one anywhere. Can't even find images from folks who bought it.

I definitely prefer bat top. I played for awhile with the ball top and square gate before I decided to change it... and for the hell of it, I changed the gate while I had it open. Not sure which I prefer at this point -- I think it depends on the game. :|

Yes I do have it, but I haven't taken it out of the wrapping yet though... from what I briefly saw, it looks kind of generic... if I can work up the motivation to unpack it I'll take some pics for ya.

I would've invested in another TE (have three so far and two SEs), but I'm sort of tired of buying the same sticks again and again.

There's a HRAP-EX SA? Wait...just saw Markman's post. Yawn.

You guys are some serious collectors. My EX already has Sanwa parts in it and it looks like every Hori. If it resembled the Tekken sticks but was wired and had the parts, I'd bite.

And the girl on the left is cute.

Well, there's the all Seimitsu HRAP dropping 10/19 if you want something kinda different. I fell in love with the LS-32 ever since putting one in my SE. Never tried Seimitsu buttons though so I'm looking forward to that. I actually got 8 red Sanwa buttons just last week on the chance I end up preferring their feel.

It looks the same. The design is stale. HRAP1 came out how long ago? I have Seimitsu parts in my 360 SE. I also have the HRAP EX-SE. I don't have the HRAP3 variant. I did pre-order the HRAP3SA but honestly, at this point, I don't care.

Someone come out with a Happ stick with dual console support (besides custom and AIB). Or a new design (goes for both Hori and Mad Catz). And seriously, there are other 3rd party accessories manufacturers and only these two companies are making quality joysticks?

Those sticks in the God's Garden tournament are the Japan/Asian only TE sticks.

It's just a little Mad Catz logo, it won't hurt you!

Ugh.

Had to return my TE stick. Now I feel all naked and whatnot...
Where the fuck am I going to get a replacement TE stick from? (GS is out of them... and the only reason I could afford it was a ton of GS credit...)

I'm playing SF4, testing out the resurrected xbox, and I start up playing with the fightstick.
Zangief. Stage three finished with an ultra combo. Hit stage 4... Round 1 fight. I try to jump and roundhouse, but I just roundhouse. Bison kicks me in the head.

Turns out ALL butons worked... the stick just stopped. Tried unplugging. Tried it on a second xbox. Checked the connections inside, they seemed fine. Ended up returning it rather than deal with Mad Catz support.

Now I have no clue of what I'm going to do. T_T

Yeah,

It is not gonna stop me from going for one. Keep us posted when the Japan/Asian version might go up on PA so we don't miss out on them...the old prototype link has been taken down.

I'm a very casual fighting game player but I enjoy them a lot ( I've spent over 200 hours in SFIV) and I'm thinking of picking up a stick. I don't have much money to spare so my first thought was to get the madcatz SE SFIV stick for the X360.

Is this a a good move? Is it a good "starter" stick? Because I've been hearing that their lifespan is pretty short, is there another cheap stick you guys can recommend for the 360?

Thanks in advance.

The FSSE would be the best sub-$130 stick on 360.

You can find a Hori EX2 for dirt cheap... not sure how it stacks up to a MC SE Fightstick, but the Hori was serviceable, in the least... depends on how much of a beating you're going to give it though, I suppose.

Any clue when those sticks go up for sale?

Why don't you guys sell different colored bezels?

So, I was thinking about getting a 360 TE stick, and getting it modded with a MC board, bat top and an 8-way gate (since its square by default). Do you guys think the cost will be worth it?

Sorry for the utter noobness, but can you give me some kind of link for this stick you speak of?
FightStick Standard Edition. The one you were considering purchasing.

-PXG-, square gates are also 8-way. I think the terminology you're searching for is "octagonal".
