Glad you like the Round 2 stick! They're starting to pop up now ;)

who knows?! if there is one out, what would you guys want to see?

A full Happ TE stick would be cool ...but if the parts were actually Sanwas made to look like Happs? That would be even better. This is mostly for people who want an "old old school arcade parts" without actually realizing what they're talking about.

Neato on the Round 2 pick-up bPod!

Gotta get one of those. Hot and mean looking. Still no amazon listing. :-(

MarkMan,

For a SSFIV stick you guys gotta be sure to get that classic big-ass Super logo on there somehow!

Yes Boss! or ppl with knowledge:

Is HORI EX2 good choice for SHMUPs on X360? I don't plan to play fighters (2D & 3D), only SHMUPs. I live in Poland, so obviously it's difficult to import and right now I have a chance to buy an EX2 domestically for 70USD.

I like it and used it for a good year on things like Ikaruga. I also like smaller sticks and am a pretty casual player so take it with a grain of salt. I don't really play fighters either...outside of about 30 hours on SF IV...so I can't really comment on that. Also worth looking into is the Mad Catz SE which is a small amount more expensive but altogether a bit better and moddable. Though you've got to deal with the SF graphics on it, kinda troublesome if that is not your cup of tea. I've been using that one for RFA in the last week. Nice little stick. I'm sure others will chime in with their experience on the EX2.

And, I'm polish...so cheers to that!

Yes Boss! is Polish.....BRAIN EXPLODES!:D

Actually I have SFIV SE for PS3, bought it when I was getting into Fighters, didn't work out, like SHMUPs better. But I can't mod it with Cthulhu board (suck at anything soldering related, also I don't think there is a person in Poland that will mod it for me) so the best way for me is to sell the PS3 stick and buy something for X360.

Well,

Polish/American...fourth generation living in the US. Hopefully I did not get you too excited :lol Surname is Buczek, btw.

Well, if you've got the SE then you kinda know what you are in for with the EX2.

i dunno it feels nicer

like, in general; not just for shooters

I was incredibly happy to switch out my sanwa stick for a LS-56; it's such an improvement it's not even funny.

Having a tiny deadzone means everything feels more responsive and adds to the experience quite a bit.

its decent for the price. i got one for cheap and have put many hours of use into it. the buttons are starting to wear out now, but the stick is still good.

the other one Yes Boss mentioned might be a little more expensive, but it would be easier to mod yourself if youre into that. if not, the EX is a good (cheap) choice.

Always wondered, why is it that seimitsu is preferred over sanwa for shooters?

shorter throw, meaning that its quicker to activate the switches and the range of movement is shorter.

/preference.

i still prefer Sanwa sticks for fighters. Seimitsu for shooters.

Sanwa buttons all the way.

Yeah, this has improved my parry game immensely in 3rd Strike and also doing Twelve's instant air dash consistently. Gonna finally try their buttons next week.

Your terminology is a little off here.
Throw = farthest distance the lever can move when it hits the gate.
Engage = distance of movement required to activate the microswitch.

Mark, any ideas when the HRAP V line will hit online stores?

Good question.

Also, have any pics of the insides of the V series surfaced? Will the Seimitsu PS-14-KN 30mm buttons fit on those as well?

yeah, thanks you're correct. (i was on my way out the door and trying to get my thoughts out quickly. didnt quite come out right.)

also missed the most important point, the fact that the stick makes it easier to make smaller more precise movements. which is why we all prefer them for shmups.

I like the sound of that. Is the LS-56 a direct drop-in on the TE?

You'd have to do some drilling for it to work with the mounting bracket.

Seimitsu's LS-32-01 is a drop-in replacement for the TE and SE though.

Does the LS-32 have the same small-deadzone characteristic of the LS-56?

Edit: Also, can you get an octo-gate for the 32 or is it only square?

Thanks.

Ok i randomly picked this up from work (its from capcom so i figure it must be decent):

255mm1d.jpg

No wires or anything though. :(

Is it possible to mod this stick so that it would work with a 360? (i.e. get a crappy 360 controller and solder the wires from the buttons in the stick to the contacts on the PCB of the controller)

Turtle! j/k, Awesome stick. I've been thinking about making a custom box out of wood. How hard is the Brazillian Walnut to work with?

I was just looking for a pic of my stick for something else and saw that I missed this reply months ago.. I feel really guilty, but if you're still interested in working with brazillian walnut here goes:

It was a BASTARD! I had to use a mains drill, becuase my battery drill literally couldn't drill through it and then my mains drill started to smell where it was stressing so much. Once I put the varnish on, it took four days to dry, including one day in a paint oven. The wood is so dense it doesn't soak into the wood much. Eventually I sanded it down a shade and put another thin coat over top of that. About two days after that, I sanded it down lightly and waxed her up.

I think it was worth it though, it's a really solid, heavy stick and the grain and natural colour is beautiful. Sorry it's such a late and probably worthless reply!

I have a tekken 5 arcade stick for the PS2. Problem is that I no longer have my PS2, but I still have the tekken stick. I am tempted to trade it in, cause I can't find a sure fire way to use it on my PS3 (I can't a good idea if any of the PS2 to USB adapters work with this stick). Any ideas on what to do? Any of you guys want it?

goddamn it i don't want to
i'm not this weak am i?

Saw that at SRK yesterday. Did not even see it listed on the blog, and releasing so soon. Seems a bit pricey for what it is, and I'm getting behind on sticks. I'm probably going to go for the Triple version though.

MarkMan,

Finally got around to buying the Asia version of the TE...pretty hot for it and I'm positioning it as the Sanwa counterpart to me EX-SE....should be arriving next week with a black Wii for Sin and Punishment 2. Finally tired of Homebrew/Gecko and I've got about 15 VC games to get for it.

What is the story on the Round 2? The current Gamestop listing has some strange wording about fulfillment. Is this going to ever go to Amazon?

Also, my hype level for the Marvel stick is through the roof. Looks so nice. My big November purchase along with the Mushi and Twinstick. Love.

Hey guys, anybody knows a UK based online store where i can buy the SFIV SE Fightstick (for Xbox 360), and they ship to Romania?I haven't found a single one that ships to my country.Strangely, some of them ship to Hungary, but not to Romania...
Actually, i am looking for a European store, not necessarily a UK based one, i just thought there would be more online stores in the UK than in other countries.

Hello I currently landed into some extra cash, and I would really like to get a great arcade stick. I have been watching this thread for quite a while, and I would really like some advice from the pros. I am a shooter fan and that is what the stick will be used for most of the time. So, what I am trying to say is can you guys recommend me a good one? It has to work with my Mac, and PC for MAME. My price range is about $150 dollars. I am looking at the Hori Real Arcade Pro. EX-SE. I do plan on getting a Xbox 360 for Christmas so it will be nice to already have a good stick for that, but a PS3 stick is fine too. Anyways thanks for your help :].

You don't need any advice, you already know your best option :)
edit: Assuming it works for the PC, but I'm pretty sure HORI sticks do. Less certain about the Mac.

Yeah it says they work with PC, but not sure about the Mac. For now that would be the only thing I would get to use it on besides my PC, but I like my Mac better :D my emulators run faster.

an update on the ghettostick:

i got it soldered up, i just need a 360 PCB to stick in there. (The 4/8 Way switch is now a Guide Enable/Disable switch, Turbo off button is the Guide button)

Quick question for you guys...

Anyone know any reliable service that will install a Cthulhu and Imp board in my TE? I'd love to do it myself but the last thing I wanna do it ruin a great arcade stick.

I saw a site called Modchipman does it but I have no idea how reliable the guy is.

Any suggestions?

Great Threi, now you have made me want to go to the game shop in a near by mall and look though there $5 accessory bin and see if I can find one of those. At the very least I think I will pick up a NES Advantage this time around if they still have some in there.

Also, how good is this. I only have a fairly bad 3rd party controller for my Saturn, so I got this for $17.49 shipped:

I haven't done business with him, but haunts, DoubleTap, A Twisty Fluken, Momar, and others have and all seem very satisfied.

It's bigger than the Saturn so it has to be good.
