You know, I'll have to check, the Asian/Japanese TE stick distribution is being handled separately.

But they are numbered, but not out of a certain set number, if that helps any.

Yes Boss!: I didn't count it because it got pushed back to November! hehe.

BTW EVERYONE!

Arcade Shock has the HRAP EX SE and HRAP 3 SA in stock now at $139.99 and $119.99 respectively. Act quickly or just hang out with Amazon preorders.

Do they ship to europe? Can't find their shipping info on the site.

That helps. I'll give it a week or two.

They've got a drop-down menu with every country imaginable when you check out so there is a good chance. Just set up an account...put the stuff in your cart and see how far you get.

This is probably a stupid question, but I searched a bunch of sites and this thread and didn't come up with anything. Maybe my keywords were off. Anyway; my first question is, has anyone ever considered replacing a sticks' joystick with buttons (similar to a keyboard, basically). Is this even doable? Lastly, is this kind of thing frowned upon/even allowed in tournaments (specifically Street Fighter).

Yay. What # did you get?

under item no it says 4736 (my pics are on the Sept pickup thread)

October is going to eat my wallet. I still have the Tekken bundle and the two hori se and sa from Amazon and Arcade shock :D

I'm pretty sure I saw someone do that on SRK. I'll try to find it.

I've never really been drawn into arcade sticks, as fighting games are not typically my style, however with the news that Mushihime-sama Futari for the X360 would be region-free, I'm interested in picking up a stick for shmup play. I am totally ignorant about arcade sticks and was wondering

a) Are there any differences for what you should look for in a stick for shmup play compared to fighter play?

b) I'm not looking to spend a lot on a stick, but what are some good ones for the X360? Possibly the regular SFIV stick?

Thanks guys!

So I recently completed my custom arcade stick recently, and figured I'd show it off a bit. :D

The best retail stick for shumpping on 360 is the HRAP EX-SE. It'll set you back $140, but you won't need anything else.
Generally, Seimitsu parts are preferred for shooing games, and this stick is all Seimitsu.

The regular SFIV stick is a good option since you don't wish to spend alot. It's easily upgradable to Seimitsu parts for parity with the HRAP EX-SE anyhow.

You should be ashamed of yourself lol, but yeah... I see people with "sticks" like that every once in a while.

Obvious response from someone with the name "SuperMattyFighter2T". This answers my question perfectly. Thank you!

Did you end up getting in on the system11 vewlix group buy? :D

Passed on it. Did you?

I think I'm just going to check out one of the Vewlix clones that are in SOCAL.

3.5k before customs/shipping/etc/etc/etc was a bit too rich for my blood. If a vewlix clone group buy shows up at some point I will be ALL over that baby.

Is that group buy still even on? Guy hasn't gotten back to me.

Told me that it would be about 3.9k for a L shipped to my door...not too bad. Cheaper than getting a new delta ($4.2k to my door).

Mark let us know how those clones are. Hear they are crap, but keeping my hopes up.

I was wondering if someone could help me.

Two years ago I bought a VSHG and barely used it because I used the HRAP3 as my primary stick, and when SFIV came out I switched to the TE Stick.

Two weeks I decided to start using the VHSG stick and I discovered I have difficulty performing Ultras with anyone.

I heard about the button press issues with Tekken but thought the newer models fixed these.

A few days ago I switched back to the TE stick and I can perform Ultras 100% of the time.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks

VSHG is my main stick for SFIV and I don't have any issues. What letter is engraved on the bottom of your stick?

I am currently at work and the stick is at home. I will let you know when i get home

Thanks

Heads up,

NCS is getting their stock of HRAP EX-SEs and HRAP SAs in the next few days for those who don't want to wait the few weeks for Amazon. You will have to pay UPS fees like Arcade Shock, though. No CA tax for those living in this state.

How much of a difference will there be between a TE SF4 Stick and a SE SF4 Stick with modded Sanwa parts?
TE wins in size and weight, storage for the cable, 24mm Start and Back/Select buttons...
I think it's worth the small premium over an SE + the cost of replacement Sanwa parts.

The issue is I bought a SE stick for what the TE costs now back when SF4 came out. Is the general feel similar, or does the TE still trump the SE?

So I popped a GT-Y in my TE, but when I went to close the top sheet it wouldn't close properly because of the wires. I had to clip the zip tie and spread them out to close it, and I had to do this about five times because one of them was rubbing up against a button and causing it to stick. I also noticed that the wires are all different sizes, and seem to be random regardless of the button location.

What can I do to clean the wires up?

Edit: Lovin' that Round 2 TE.

I freaking love this thing.

Oh, by the way, it looks like they used some kind of tempered metal for the top panel. It looks totally scratch resistant. Is this new for the US release?
My vanilla HRAP EX has a glossy finish that scratches easily. Were the original HRAP EX-SEs the same way?

I was trying to explain this earlier in the year. Once the film is removed the faceplate is MUCH higher quality and much more durable. My standard EX is my most used stick and it is covered in micro scratches but me EX-SE is as pristine as the day it was born. Overall the heft is much better too (though they weigh similar). And audio-wise, the stick makes a beautiful thock sound after hitting the Seimitsu buttons. Such a beast. Also the HRAP SA has a better faceplate, but with a more rubberish feel.

Seriously, how serendipitous was it that this beautiful stick is made available at a decent price at exactly the same time Mushi gets a region-free release? $200 for the both and it is heaven.

Awesome pick-up. Hopefully many more will be posted in the coming month!

Thanks for the explanation and thanks for the kind words.
And you're right; it definitely does feel less domey and hollow compared to my EX, even if the weight is similar.
The US version doesn't even come with the protective film so I assume they have full confidence in the scratch resistant surface :lol.

Bring on Mushihimesama Futari!

Man, I really hope the EX-SE can still be found a little closer to the holidays. I really want to give Seimitsu parts a try and that looks like a great way to do it. I'm just broke. :(

ohshitohshitohshit. Looks dope as hell. Waiting for my Amazon order is gonna be painful. Best thing is that I've never tried Seimitsu buttons but fell in love with the LS-32 which I put into my Madcatz SE. Sanwa feels too sloppy now to me.

Wow. The US version's already available?? It looks hot. I was thinking of canceling my Amazon preorder but now I dunno...

Yeah, I love the LS-32 too. I have the hardest time playing SF4 with Sanwa. Thanks to the game's input shortcuts I end up with far too many accidental supers and specials. Don't have nearly as many fuckups with my Seimitsu stick. I like playing BlazBlue with Sanwa though.

Can anyone confirm if it is a metal top plate, or is it just a sticker overlay?

If it's cool to bring more arcade cab discussion in here, I want to mention:

They had Tekken6 BR running in a lindbergh cab last night, and I am SHOCKED at how much better those cabs look in person. I'm not sure I like the vewlix better anymore. :/ That's the cab whose CP design inspired the VSHG, right?

I never tried Seimitsu buttons, but once I get my Amazon order and I end up liking it, I will definitely buy another one while the gettin' is good.

I never used a Seimitsu lever before the EX-SE and I have fallen in love with the LS-32-01. The buttons are rad as well, they're much more... i dunno, tactile than Sanwa and that helps me with my confidence. When I get the chance, I'll probably swap out the Sanwa parts in my TE for full Seimitsu.

Can anyone suggest a wii stick, I decided to have another go with my arcade stick and I'm beginning to see small results. Hopefully it will get better here on out!

it's metal
like every HRAP
and every hrap has a plastic overlay(do you think I was asking if the stick was mounted to a sticker?)... he makes it sound it is treated metal without the sticker that scratches so easily.

You'll never go back to Sanwa again, is that good.

Well, my irrational VSHG love has claimed another victim :D

Madcatz TE
Dualmodded PS3/360
Arthong 7-button plexi
Sanwa OBSF-30 Dark Hai action buttons and yellow OBSF-24s for Start/Select
Dark Hai meshball

It's unforunate the plexiglass is so reflective. I might revisit the design with a polycarbonate print from mamemarquees to better mimic the VSHG's matte surface.
For now, It looks fine.
