Well, they are locked in there pretty tight since they aren't snap-ins. They are threaded nut and bolt sort of things. All the clear seimitsus on my current stick don't budge an inch. The one that did forced me to open up the whole darn thing to retigthen it, the little bugger.

It seems that the inner button where the art is actually placed doesn't rotate independently of the outer casing. I'm the worst with glue and I always make a mess, so I am concerned with inviting it to the party.

Hrm, I usually have the opposite problem with my PS-14-KNs... I can't seem to ever get it bolted tightly enough (at least not w/o using enough force that I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to remove them), and the buttons will often rotate or become loose just through normal use.

So I just checked my email and I have a UPS shipping notification from Aksys Games, Inc. This is VERY surprising to me because the only item I've ordered from Aksys Games, Inc. is the BlazBlue Contiuum Shift Arcade Stick that just went up for pre-order last week and was supposedly shipping sometime in June!

If it's not a mistake (and I have no reason to think that it is) then I should be receiving that bad boy next week. Anyone else order one and also get a notification?

Anyway, I'm obviously super excited. Yay!

Really nice looking H-RAP! Love the art! I've never art modded an H-RAP before. Was it difficult?

It is easy.

I used a swiss army knife instead of an x-acto. I probably should have bought one, but the arm knife did alright.

I would change the process of trimming before you put it on. I think it would be best to have some sort of backlight, then place the metal plate on top of the label so the alignment is correct. Then once it is stuck in the right place, put the plate back on the top of the base and just use the gap as a guide to trim. I say this because the original label had some overhang, and if you trim to the metal plate there is a bit of a gap around the edge where you can see the white of the paper you printed on. If you trimmed the outside while the plate was set in, not only would it guide the trimming better, but it would fill in that gap better and look cleaner.

Also, when removing the joystick, use a large head philips, be careful and press in very hard on the screws. They are screwed in extremely tight and have tension against the plate, so if you don't press down far enough or use a screwdriver with too small of a head, it will strip the screws and you'll have to use a wrench to get them off.

If you search around elsewhere, you will see that some people sell plexiglass tops for HRAPs so you could just print on gloss paper and put that on top. If you plan on changing the art a lot, that would probably be worth the $15 or so.

So I'm thinking of buying a Mad Catz SF IV SE stick, but I've read there are/were some pretty severe quality issues with that stick. Has this been fixed or are these issues still present with the sticks they sell today? I could get a new one with 49 euros, so I'm on the fence here.

And how good is this stick with shmups?

I don't even think MadCatz are making new SE sticks, but MarkMan could answer that better than I.

If you have the money (or can wait and save up), I recommend just splurging for the TE stick.

Well, I got my first arcade stick yesterday. I picked up the MvC TE stick. I'm very happy with it so far. I can bust out pretty much all of Ken and Ryu's moves easily. Now, I have to practice with the other characters.

Just two questions:

- the black circle that is under the joystick, is that supposed to move around?

- is the ball on the top of the joystick supposed to spin around?

Sorry for the silly questions, but never having owned one before, I'm not sure if this is okay.

Yes, it's just a dust cover. Pull it up and you'll see the bigger hole that allows the stick to move.

The Ball isn't turning, the whole ball + shaft (heh) is. It's supposed to be that way. If you're able to actually unscrew the ball, that's different.

Hey guys, I'm hoping to get some Photoshop assistance for a buddy who is customising a Madcatz SE stick. Unfortunely I don't even have a copy of Photoshop...

Looking for a MadCatz SE custom art.  Black textured background, with RUBIX in graffiti letters above the buttons on the upper right corner. Hoping that this will be done in a spraypaint like style and with the paint running down through the button layout. Making it look rushed and messy basically. I want a menacing skull on the lower left, would prefer if the skull does not overlap the stick hole. Both Rubix and skull would be in pink please.  The ball top and buttons are Sanwa pink, so hoping the pink used in the art doesn't clash with the shade of the buttons.

So if anyone feels like doing some "pro bono" work for a fellow fight stick gamer send me a PM. Thanks!

Nareg is going to close down GamingNow because of law school. :(

http://www.gamingnow.net/

There are some great clearance deals though, so I ordered a couple sets of Twisted OBSFs and bubble tops for the hell of it. He's also hinted at some sort of deal on LS-32s when his last shipment of 'em comes in this Monday.

Anyone know of a reputable person/shop that will mod a 360 TE stick with a Ch1mp board for cross compatability? I really want a stick that works with both 360 and PS3 but I don't really have the experience/confidence to do the mod myself.

Is there a high res version of the Marvel vs Capcom Tournament Stick art available? The Marvel Stick is not available in Europe and i really like the artwork and would add it to my stick.

Damn, that sucks. Might have to place an order for some of those purple pearl Seimitsu buttons today...

Sad to hear about Gamingnow.net. Nareg has been my "go to" guy for my last several parts orders. If you are building a Seimitsu stick now would definitely be the time to buy from him. $17.99 for an LS-32-01 and $2.50 for most of the nice buttons.

Hmm, is there any place I can get the sanwa parts needed (stick and 8 pushbuttons) for lower than on lizardlick? Right now the total for all of the parts needed to mod my SE fightstick totals to around $50.

Anyone know if a ls-32-01 will directly bolt into the new Hori RAP V3 SA?

I have a modded SE stick with all Semitsu parts I would love to swap into the RAP V3.

Gamingnow is out of LS-32-01s, but he has LS-32 + wiring harnesses. How hard is it going to be to attach the harness? I've got basically 0 electrical skills.

The wiring harness doesn't work with the LS-32 - it has spots for soldering/quick disconnects on every direction and would require a separate wire to each + separate wire for ground.

Not a big deal really, but if you have no experience with wiring at all... I think you can wait till tomorrow since I heard that Nareg will get LS-32-01s in stock then.

I own almost every Seimitsu joysticks and the one with the most problems is LS-32.

LS-40 and LS-56 are easily better, IMO. With, LS-40 for mine being the best feeling Seimitsu stick. No pivot problems like the LS-32, and motions feel much more smoother while LS-32 does not feel as smooth.

I've got a few questions -- if anyone can help, that'd be great.

I have a Hori T6 PS3 stick -- I want to open it up so I can swap the ball top for a bat top. It's got these strange Y screws that I can't find a driver for removing -- I'm assuming I'm going to have to buy something like this at Lowe's or Home Depot? Unless anyone has some better idea on how to remove them without the specific driver?

Other random questions:

Once I get the damn Hori T6 stick open, if I wanted to swap the screws out for some sort of standard phillips head screws, does anyone know the type/size I'd want? I'm just thinking if I get the special driver, it'd still be easier to use that tool once and then have easier access with a non-special tool in the future...

I have a cthulhu/imp board that needs to be mounted inside a TE fightstick. Does anyone know the best type/size of screws for this sort of thing?

Finally got some artwork/plexi for my hori ex-se - apologies if you've already seen the image posted in the pickup thread.

The artwork is based off of a new astro city cab panel. Though it was an existing psd from a shoryuken.com user, I realigned some of the assets. Was originally planning to replace the ball/buttons with pink/green to mimic the astro panel even further, but I love the buttons this hori came with.

Man, I'm sick of Sanwa sticks. They fucking always have some problem when I get one. My HRAP3 clips on the bottom washer, and now my TE, the top micro switch squeaks, and the shaft doesn't move as fluid as it should, and feels like it gets stuck on something when you mess with it in neutral sometimes.

What the fuck is with the quality Jesus Christ.

Sort of a weird question but has anyone played the new Final Fight Double Impact with an Arcade Stick? Spending lots of quarters on the old original Final Fight cabinets I am drawn to the re-release but only if it plays well with an arcade stick. Anyone?

It sucks because Sanwa feel is inconsistent at times. :(

Used the MWC code to get me the TvC stick. After how much I am loving the SSF4 TE-S stick maybe I will play my Wii more now.

So that makes

TvC Stick
PS3 SSF4 TE-S
PS3 Juri SSF4 Fightpad
PS3 Guile SF4 R2 Fightpad

all in the last 2 months. <3 Fighting games.

On that note, have you guys thought of doing a Seimitsu version of your sticks, kinda like the HRAP SE line?
Yeah, I would love to grab a limited edition with a LS-32 and PS-14-Gs installed.
