How are the Standard editions compared to the Tournament editions? I am so close to picking up the SE.
Stock parts in an SE are very poor - don't last very long and feel mushy/loose - and can't hold a candle to the arcade-grade parts in an TE. If you decide to replace the SE parts with arcade stuff somewhere down the line though (~$50, and it's a very easy process since the case was designed with modding in mind), it can become a great stick... some people even prefer the smaller form factor and it's very portable.

Ugh, that is the main reason for my purchase of a new stick :(

I guess I might as well spend the extra now. Any news on when the Brawlstick will be coming out?

edit: Actually is it possible to mod the TvC stick to work on the 360?

I think Threi did something similar, try PMing him.

The Brawl Stick is already a 360 controller BTW.

hey dudes, I got this dreamcast Mas stick that's collecting dust and I always wondered if there was some way to get this thing to work for the 360 (now that mvC3 is out).

anyone know?

I could be done, but you're better off just swapping the buttons and stick if possible from the TVC one to the SE as opposed to removing the PCB from the SE stick and putting it in the TVC one.

I was actually thinking of getting one of the SF4 fightpads for cheap and putting that PCB into the TVC one, but I am unsure if that would actually work.

I cannot find the Brawl Sticks in the UK :(

EDIT: Found it on Amazon for £70 hmm

I could pick up the TvC stick for £20~ then a fight pad for around £15 giving me a decent stick for £35 that is if I do not need anything extra :o

That does indeed work, you just gotta do a bit of soldering.

What you basically have to do is make each button and joystick direction connect to the 360 PCB as well as the Wii one, and then solder the 360 PCB GND and VCC points to the Wii GND and VCC points.

SF4 fightpad is the best one to use as well, you won't have to do any trigger hack modifications to the PCB.

Excellent news :) Just ordered my TvC stick for £14.64!

Now to find a cheap SF4 fightpad! This may be a stupid question but I can just use the cable from the SF4 pad to power the stick as well I assume getting rid of the wii cable?

If you remove the Wii cable you lose wii functionality, it's not USB like the 360.

If you don't want two cables sticking out of the case though you will have to do a fair bit of modding (not too too hard but really tedious)

I guess I have no problems with 2 cables sticking out of the case ;)

Edit: Also thanks alot for the help guys :) I cannot wait for my stick to come! Cannot wait to start working on that puppy.

will it work the way i want it? like, perfectly? if so, I would definitely try this. but I dont wanna mess anything up.

<edit> man installing this thing seems complicated as hell...I'm not sure if I will be able to complete this task. sigh

Eh, it sounds hella easy. Shouldn't even be any soldering involved, right? Strip the ends of the wires, combine the grounds, and put them straight into the pcb. Seems like something anyone could do.

I have some extra money and I really want a good Arcade stick but I would like to work with ps3 and Pc without having to mod it, is that even possible ? I see some Street fighter 4 TE sticks for 190 on amazon I might buy.

I apologize if this has been asked.

Buy an already modded stick off of SRK or Ebay I guess. Only stick I know of that comes with PS3/360 compatibility out of the box is that Joytron Revolution.

I use an HRAP 3 without any problems either.

it looks easy when someone does it with that TE stick.

no quips bout the virtua stiiick?

hardcore users what's the verdict?
Well, lots of them are faulty.

I picked up some TE wooden sides from Focus Attack earlier this week. I installed them tonight.
I think they look pretty nice.

My god, that looks so SICK.

Whoa, my mistake. It totally said "add to cart" when I posted the link.
Yeah I thought it was good too, but when he tried to go through with it it went out of stock. Thanks for the help though.

Hey guys. I just swapped out the buttons on my TE. It's my first "mod" I've done on an arcade stick, so I'm pretty proud of myself. Any suggestions for the button wires? I'm having a little trouble putting the top of the stick back on because the wires seem to be going back in in a funny way that prevents the top from aligning properly.

The TE stick will work, but you might need to buy a seperate PCI USB card if your current motherboard isn't using the VIA chipset. You can find the discussion here:

http://shoryuken.com/f177/madcatz-ps3-te-fightstick-pc-xp-vista-win7-32-64bit-read-1st-post-175047/

After buying the USB card for my computer, my PS3 TE worked fine on the PC.

those look like the stickers you would put on a mailbox

Yes, they are exactly those. I should use smaller stickers but I'm going to remove them anyways. Here's one with no stickers

Sounds like you got a set of SAE sized wrenches... Mad Catz hex bolts are 3 mm, so you need to hunt down a metric set.

Purchased some Sanwa buttons and joystick to mod my Fight Stick SE as the stock buttons are starting to annoy me. Cost almost as much as I paid for it. Will be worth it though.

I'm seriously thinking about just building a full custom PS3/360 stick, too.

I have a Norris box that I we'd with a 360 pcb for sf4, I've since then switched to the ps3. My question is what exactly do I need alongside a chtulthu board or whatever it is? Exactly what other parts will I need to get it all connected? I already have all my buttons and a joystick
